This study aims to investigate the effect of sodium replacement on the quality characteristics of pastı*** this purpose,pastırma production with four different salt mixtures(Ⅰ.100%NaCl;Ⅱ.50%NaCl+50%KCl;Ⅲ.40%NaCl+40%KCl+20%CaCl_(2);Ⅳ.30%NaCl+40%KCl+20%CaCl_(2)+10%MgCl_(2))were carried out using traditional *** use of different salt mixtures for pastırma had no statistically significant effect on the microbial counts and residual nitrite of the final *** a*and b*values were affected by this *** salt mixture containing CaCl_(2) or CaCl_(2)+MgCl_(2) significantly decreased the pH values and sensory *** eighteen volatile compounds were affected by the salt ***^(+),K^(+),Ca^(2+),and Mg^(2+)had a certain increase depending on their ratio in the salt *** highest Cathepsin activity in all pastırma samples was observed in Cathepsin B+*** salt mixture with NaCl+KCl+CaCl_(2)+MgCl_(2) increased acid lipase ***,this mixture had no significant effect on neutral lipase activity.

AiM： To estimate the prevalence of small intestine bacterial overgrowth （SiBO） among patients with an earlier diagnosis of irritable bowel disease （iBS） in our geographical area, and to collect information on the use of locally acting non-absorbable antibiotics in the management of SiBO. METHODS： A non-interventional study was conducted in 73 consecutive patients with a symptom-based diagnosis.. RESULTS： When the patients underwent a ＂breath test＂, 33 （45.2%） showed the presence of a SiBO. Arcer treatment with rifaximin 1200 mg/d for seven days in 32 patients, 19 （59.4%） showed a negative ＂breath test＂ one week later as well as a significant reduction of symptoms, thus confirming the relationship between SiBO and many of the symptoms claimed by patients. in the other 13 patients, ＂breath test＂ remained positive, and a further cycle of treatment with ciprofloxacin 500 mg/d was given for 7 additional days, resulting in a negative ＂breath test＂ in one patient only. CONCLUSiON：（1） about half of the patients with a symptomatic diagnosis of iBS have actually SiBO, which is responsible for most of the symptoms attributed to iBS; （2） only a ＂breath test＂ with lactulose （or with glucose in subjects with an intolerance to lactose） can provide a differential diagnosis between iBS and SiBO, with almost identical symptoms; and （3） the use of non-absorbable antibiotics may be useful to reduce the degree of SiBO and related symptoms; it must be accompanied, however, by the correction of the wrong alimentary habits underlying SiBO.

BACKgROUND: Viral replication in blood cells with nucleases may lead to the damage of lymphocytes genetic apparatus and the beginning of immunopathological reactions. AiM: Of this investigation is to reveal the damage to peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) DNA in the patients with chronic liver diseases. MATERiALS AND METHODS: Sixteen-nine patients with chronic liver diseases (37 patients with chronic viral hepatitis, 2 patients with liver cirrhosis of mixed etiology (alcohol+virus g), 30 women with primary biliary cirrhosis-PBC) were examined. The condition of DNA structure of PBL was measured by the fluorescence analysis of DNA unwinding (FADU) technique with modification. Changes of fluorescence (in %) reflected the DNA distractions degree (the presence of DNA single-stranded breaks and alkalinelabile sights). RESULTS AND CONCLUSiON: The quantity of DNA single-stranded breaks and alkalinelabile sights in DNA in all patients with chronic viral hepatitis didn't differ from the control group, excluding the patients with chronic hepatitis (CH) C+g. Patients with HgV and TTV monoinfection had demonstrated the increase of the DNA single-stranded breaks PBL quantity. This fact may be connected with hypothesis about the viruses replication in white blood cells discussed in the literature. Tendency to increase quantity of DNA PBL damages in the patients with primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) accordingly to the alkaline phosphatase activity increase was revealed. Significant decrease of the DNA single-stranded breaks and alkalinelabile sights in the PBC patients that were treated with prednisone was demonstrated. Probably, the tendency to increase the quantity of DNA single stranded breaks and alkalinelabile sights in lymphocytes of the PBC patients was depended on the surplus of the blood bile acid content.

Detailed spectroscopic studies of Pr3＋ ions in BiBO glass and Ca4gdO（BO3）3 crystal were performed. Experimental absorption spectra were measured at room temperature and assigned. The first principles discrete variational multielectron method was used to model the polarized absorption spectra of the Ca2gdO（BO3）3：Pr3＋; without any fitting parameters, the overall appearance of the spectra was reproduced satisfactorily. The energy intervals between different molecular orbitals in the [PrO6] cluster were estimated. The conventional Judd-Ofelt theory was used to calculate the oscillator strengths of the 4f-4f transitions in the BiBO：Pr3＋ system; the set of the phenomenological intensity parameters was determined.

The suitability of using precipitated silica(PS) from the burning of rice husk was investigated to improve the geotechnical engineering properties of a black cotton soil. A laboratory experimental program consisting of series of specific gravity, Atterberg limits, compaction, California bearing ratio(CBR), unconfined compression and consolidation tests was conducted on the untreated and PS treated soil samples. The application of PS to the soil significantly changed its properties by reducing its plasticity and making it more workable, improving its soaked strength, and increasing its permeability and the rate at which the soil gets consolidated. An optimal PS content of 50%, which provided the highest soaked strength, is recommended for the improvement of the subgrade characteristics of the BC soil for use as a pavement layer material.

Urban Heat island investigations in Arctic Cities of Northwestern Russia

Urban microclimate peculiarities in two Arctic cities in northwestern Russia--Kirovsk （67.62°N, 33.67°E） and Apatity （67.57°N, 33.38°E）-were investigated by using mobile temperature records. The experiment was carried out in and around Apatity and Kirovsk in February 2014 and December 2016. The DS 18B20 digital thermometer was in- stalled on the roof of a car （height： approximately 1.2 m） to measure and record temperature variations automatically. in addition to the digital thermometer, the car was also equipped with an onboard global positioning system, allow- ing every temperature measurement to be referenced with an altitude and a latitude/longitude position. The possibility of urban heat island formation in these polar cities, above the Arctic Circle, was studied. Our analysis indicated that on 11 February 2014, the temperature varied in accordance with the background environmental lapse rate （-0.0045℃ m^-1）, and nearly corresponded to it （-0.0165℃ m^-1） on 12 February 2014. On 6 December 2016, a strong local temperature inversion with a positive value of 0.032℃ m^-1 was detected, seemingly caused by the formation of a cold air pool in the valley near Kirovsk. it was found that the temperature variations within and outside these cities are strongly influenced by local topographic effects and the physical conditions of the atmospheric boundary layer.

Quasi-isotropic laminates have isotropic elastic properties in all in-plane directions. Therefore, this kind of laminate is widely used for structural elements. The simplest stacking sequence of quasi-isotropic laminates is [0/-60/60]s. When the direction of applied axial load to [0/-60/60]S laminate is inclined at a 30-degree angle, we have the other quasi-isotropic laminate [30/-30/90]s under axial load. The failure mechanisms of these two laminates are, however, entirely different from each other because these two laminates have different distribution of the interlaminar stresses. it was confirmed by tensile fatigue tests that the [0/-60/60]s laminate does not show any visible fatigue damage, but the [30/-30/90]s laminate develops edge-delamination during cyclic loading. The analytical results were in good agreement with the experimental results.
