The continued development of new cell culture technology is essential for the future growth and application of insect cell and baculovirus biotechnology. The use of cell lines for academic research and for commercial applications is currently dominated by two cell lines; the Spodoptera frugiperda line, SF21 (and its clonal isolate, SF9), and the Trichoplusia ni line, BTI 5B1-4, commercially known as High Five cells. The long perceived prediction that the immense potential application of the baculovirus-insect cell system, as a tool in cell and molecular biology, agriculture, and animal health, has been achieved. The versatility and recent applications of this popular expression system has been demonstrated by both academia and industry and it is clear that this cell-based system has been widely accepted for biotechnological applications. Numerous small to midsize startup biotechnology companies in North America and the Europe are currently using the baculovirus-insect cell technology to produce custom recombinant proteins for research and commercial applications. The recent breakthroughs using the baculovirus-insect cell-based system for the development of several commercial products that will impact animal and human health will further enhance interest in this technology by pharma. Clearly, future progress in novel cell and engineering advances will lead to fundamental scientific discoveries and serve to enhance the utility and applications of this baculovirus-insect cell system.

Bioconvection research is primarily focused on the augmentation of energy and mass species,which has implications in the processes intensification,mechanical,civil,electronics,and chemical engineering *** bioconvection technology sectors include cooling systems for electronic devices,building insulation,and geothermal nuclear waste ***,the present investigation is mainly discoursing the impact of Marangoni convention Casson nanoliquid flow under gyrotactic microorganisms over the porous *** partial differential equations(PDEs)are re-structured into ordinary differential equations(ODEs)via suitable similar *** ODEs are numerically solved with the help of the spectral relaxation method(SRM).The numerical outcomes are illustrated graphically for various parameters over velocity,temperature,concentration,and bioconvection ***-dimensional(3 D)views of important engineering parameters are illustrated for various *** velocity of the Casson nanoliquid increases with increasing the Marangoni parameter but decreases against higher porosity *** surface drag force enhances for enhancement in the Marangoni *** rate of mass transmission is higher for reaction rate constraint but diminishes for activation energy *** higher radiative values augment the rate of heat transmission.

In this paper, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a vertical cavity surface emitting laser(VCSEL)-based simultaneous 45.2 gbit/s(2×22.6 gbit/s) 4-PAM data and 8 gHz(2×4 gHz) phase modulated reference frequency(RF) clock signal transmission dense wavelength division multiplexing(DWDM) system for optical interconnects. Two low-cost power-efficient 10 g VCSEL channels with central wavelengths at 1 550.71 nm and 1 551.11 nm are separately modulated with 22.6 gbit/s 4-PAM data, therefore doubling the channel bit rate. Carrier spectral efficiency per channel is further maximized by exploiting the phase attribute in transmission of a 4 Hz RF clock signal. To further maximize the network capacity, the two VCSEL channels are densely multiplexed at 0.4 nm spacing. We therefore experimentally achieve the network data rate of 45.2 gbit/s with 8 gHz phase modulated RF clock signal. The results show that receiver sensitivities of-11.02 dBm and-9.98 dBm are experimentally achieved for VCSEL channels of 1 550.71 nm and 1 551.11 nm respectively without the phase modulated RF clock signal. However, the introduction of a phase modulated clock signal contributes to a maximum interference penalty of 0.57 dBm and 0.41 dBm for the considered channels respectively. Simultaneous distribution of transmission data and reference clock signal over shared network structure maximizes the carrier spectral efficiency and network capacity with low cost.

The electrical and current transport properties of rapidly annealed Dy/p-gaN SBD are probed by I-V and C-V techniques. The estimated barrier heights（BH） of as-deposited and 200 ℃ annealed SBDs are 0.80 eV（I-V）/0.93 eV（C-V） and 0.87 eV（I-V）/1.03 eV（C-V）. However, the BH rises to 0.99 eV（I-V）/1.18 eV（C-V）and then slightly deceases to 0.92 eV（I-V）/1.03 eV（C-V） after annealing at 300 ℃ and 400 ℃. The utmost BH is attained after annealing at 300 ℃ and thus the optimum annealing for SBD is 300 ℃. By applying Cheung＇s functions, the series resistance of the SBD is estimated. The BHs estimated by I-V, Cheung＇s and ΨS-V plot are closely matched; hence the techniques used here are consistency and validity. The interface state density of the as-deposited and annealed contacts are calculated and we found that the NSS decreases up to 300 ℃ annealing and then slightly increases after annealing at 400 ℃. Analysis indicates that ohmic and space charge limited conduction mechanisms are found at low and higher voltages in forward-bias irrespective of annealing temperatures. Our experimental results demonstrate that the Poole-Frenkel emission is leading under the reverse bias of Dy/p-gaN SBD at all annealing temperatures.

Ionization rate coefficients and saturation drift velocities for electrons and holes are the vital material parameters in determining the performance of an IMPATT *** have performed a sensitivity analysis of the millimeter wave characteristics of 4H-SiC and 6H-SiC IMPATT diodes with reference to the above mentioned material data and an operating frequency of 220 *** effect of a small variation in the ionization rate and drift velocity on the device characteristics like break down voltage,efficiency,noise measure and power output has been presented here.

Widespread use of aluminum alloys for the fabrication of car body parts is conditional to the use of appropriate welding methods,especially if dissimilar welding must be performed with automotive steel *** stir welding(FSW)is considered to be a reasonable solution to obtain sound aluminum-steel *** this context,this work studies the effects of tool position and force control in dissimilar friction stir welding of AA6061 aluminum alloy on DC05 low carbon steel in lap joint configuration,also assessing proper welding parameter *** eye and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)have been used to detect macroscopic and microscopic defects in joints,as well as to determine the type of intermixture between aluminum and *** joint strength of sound joints has been assessed by shear tension *** point out that tool force control allows for obtaining joints with better quality and strength in a wider range of process parameters.A process window has been determined for tool force conditions to have joints with adequate strength for automotive purposes.

采用阴离子表面活性剂N-月桂酰基谷氨酸(Lg)为插层分子,研究了烷烃鄄Lg-水(O/W)微乳液中烷烃量的变化对插层水滑石层间距的影响,同时研究了烷烃分子大小和水滑石层板阳离子不同对水滑石剥离难易程度的影响。实验表明,随着微乳液中烷烃含量的增加,制备得到了由插层到层板剥离的水滑石,并且烷烃的链长越长,水滑石的剥离越容易实现。层板化学组成对剥离难易程度也有影响,难易程度依次是Mg/Al-LDH,Zn/Al-LDH和Ni/Al-LDH。
