The recently introduced multivariate multiscale sample entropy(MMSE)well evaluates the long correlations in multiple channels,so that it can reveal the complexity of multivariate biological *** existing MMSE algorithm deals with short time series statically whereas long time series are common for real-time computation in practical *** a solution,we novelly proposed our dynamic MMSE(dMMSE)as an extension of *** helps us gain greater insight into the complexity of each section of time series,producing multifaceted and more robust estimates than the standard *** simulation results illustrated the feasibility and well performance in the brain death diagnosis.

The information stored in working memory can be transformed into the system of long-term memory due to the long-term potential （LTP） mechanism. The 8- burst stimulation （TBS） can be used as an LTP induction protocol in some experiments, but it has not been used in the models related to memory. In this work, an improved Camperi-Wang （C-W） model with the Ca2＋ subsystem-induced bistability is adopted, and the TBS is simulated to be the initial stimuli of this model. With the evolution of the effects of the stimuli properties such as the cycle, the amplitude, and the duty ration on the memory mechanism of this model, the TBS can be adopted to activate working memory models and produce long-term memory. The study helps to propose the relationship between working memory and long-term memory, which lays a theoretical basis for the study of the neural mechanism of long-term memory.

Exploring and controlling the physical factors that determine the topography of thin liquid dielectric films are of interest in manifold fields of research in physics,applied mathematics,and engineering and have been a key aspect of many technological *** of thin liquid dielectric film topography and local thickness measurements are essential tools for characterizing and interpreting the underlying ***,achieving high sensitivity with respect to subnanometric changes in thickness via standard optical methods is *** propose a combined imaging and optical patterning projection platform that is capable of optically inducing dynamical flows in thin liquid dielectric films and plasmonically resolving the resulting changes in topography and *** particular,we employ the thermocapillary effect in fluids as a novel heat-based method to tune plasmonic resonances and visualize dynamical processes in thin liquid dielectric *** presented results indicate that lightinduced thermocapillary flows can form and translate droplets and create indentation patterns on demand in thin liquid dielectric films of subwavelength thickness and that plasmonic microscopy can image these fluid dynamical processes with a subnanometer sensitivity along the vertical direction.

Substantial evidence exists that in addition to the well-known complications of diabetes, increased fracture risk is an important morbidity. This risk is probably due to altered bone properties in diabetes. Circulating biochemical markers of bone turnover have been found to be decreased in type 2 diabetes （T2d） and may be predictive of fractures independently of bone mineral density （BMd）. Serum sclerostin levels have been found to be increased in T2d and appear to be predictive of fracture risk independent of BMd. Bone imaging technologies, including trabecular bone score （TBS） and quantitative CT testing have revealed differences in diabetic bone as compared to non-diabetic individuals. Specifically, high resolution peripheral quantitative CT （HRpQCT） imaging has demonstrated increased cortical porosity in diabetic postmenopausal women. Other factors such as bone marrow fat saturation and advanced glycation endproduct （AgE） accumulation might also relate to bone cell function and fracture risk in diabetes. These data have increased our understanding of how T2d adversely impacts both bone metabolism and fracture risk.

This paper presents the concept of a passive electrochemical hydrogen recombiner(PEHR).The reaction energy of the recombination of hydrogen and oxygen is used as a source of electrical energy according to the operating principle for hydrogen fuel cells to establish forced circulation of the hydrogen mixture as an alternative to natural circulation(as is not utilized in conventional passive autocatalytic hydrogen recombiners currently used in nuclear power plants(NPPs)).The proposed concept of applying the physical operation principles of a PEHR based on a fuel cell simultaneously increases both productivity in terms of recombined hydrogen and the concentration threshold of flameless operation(the‘ignition’limit).Thus,it is possible to reliably ensure the hydrogen explosion safety of NPPs under all conditions,including beyond-design *** experimental setup was assembled to test a laboratory sample of a membrane electrode assembly(MEA)at various hydrogen concentrations near the catalytic surfaces of the electrodes,and the corresponding current–voltage characteristics were *** simplest MEA based on the Advent P1100W PBI membrane demonstrated stable performance(delivery of electrical power)over a wide range of hydrogen concentrations.

A novel reconfigurable 5-dOF hybrid manipulator―TriVariant-B is composed of a 2-dOF spherical parallel mechanism which is serially connected with a 3-dOF open-loop kinematic chain undergoing one translation and two rotations by a prismatic joint. The merit of this design is that a relatively large workspace/limb- stroke ratio can be achieved thanks to the decomposition of the fixed point rotation and the relative translation. In this paper, on the basis of inverse dynamic formula- tion of the 2-dOF spherical parallel mechanism, an approach is proposed for esti- mating the servomotor parameters including moment of inertia, rated speed and the maximum torque in a quick manner. The approach has been employed for the development of a prototype for frame cutting process.
