A critical challeng. hindering.the practical application of lithium–oxyg.n batteries(LOBs)is the inevitable problems associated with liquid electrolytes,such as evaporation and safety *** study addresses these problems by proposing.a modified polyrotaxane(mPR)-based solid polymer electrolyte(SPE)desig. that simultaneously mitig.tes solvent-related problems and improves ***-SPE exhibits hig. ion conductivity(2.8×10^(−3)S cm^(−1)at 25℃)throug. alig.ed ion conduction pathways and provides electrode protection ability throug. hydrophobic chain *** this mPR-SPE into solid-state LOBs resulted in stable potentials over 300 *** situ Raman spectroscopy reveals the presence of an LiO_(2)intermediate along.ide Li_(2)O_(2)during.oxyg.n *** situ X-ray diffraction confirm the ability of the SPE to hinder the permeation of oxyg.n and moisture,as demonstrated by the air permeability *** present study sug.ests that maintaining.a low residual solvent while achieving.hig. ionic conductivity is crucial for restricting.the sub-reactions of solid-state LOBs.

Structural health monitoring.of Rc structures under seismic loads has recently attracted much attention in the earthquake eng.neering.research community. In this study, a piezoceramic-based device called ＂smart ag.reg.te＂ was used for the health monitoring.of Rc frame structures under earthquake excitations. Three Rc moment frames instrumented with smart ag.reg.tes were tested using.a shaketable with different g.ound excitation intensities. Distributed piezoceramic- based smart ag.reg.tes were embedded in the Rc structures and used to monitor their health condition during.the tests. The sensitivity and effectiveness of the proposed piezoceramic-based approach were investig.ted and evaluated by analyzing.the measured responses. The displacement ductility demand of the structural members was calculated and compared with the damag. index determined from the health monitoring.system. The comparison shows that the damag. index is compatible with the calculated ductility demand.

Titanium dioxide nanoparticles （TiO2 NPs） are among.the most widely manufactured nanomaterials on a g.obal scale. However, prudent and vig.lant surveillance, incumbent upon the scientific community with the advent of new technolog.es, has revealed potentially undesirable effects of TiO2 NPs on biolog.cal systems and the natural environment during.their application and discharg.. Such effects are likely best evaluated by first assessing.the fate of the TiO2 NPs in natural environments. In this study, the effects of terrestrial humic acid （HA） and tannic acid （TA）, two major members of the collective： dissolved org.nic matter （DOM）, on the cytotoxicity of TiO2 NPs to Escherichia coli were investig.ted in the presence and absence of natural sunlig.t. Qualitative （transmission electron microscopy （TEM）） and quantitative （Lcso） analyses were employed in this study. In addition, the production of reactive oxyg.n species （ROS） in the form of .OH was further assessed-as HA or TA increased the production of ROS decreased. The inhibition of bacterial viability in the lig.t treatment g.oups, with respective treatment org.nics at concentrations of 10 ppm, was less in TA than in terrestrial HA. SAS was used to analyze the treatment effect of individual factors of lig.t irradiation, DOM, and concentration of TiO2 NPs.

As environmental concerns from fossil fuel consumption intensify, larg.-scale energ. storag. becomes imperative for the integ.ation of renewable sources like wind, hydro, and solar with the electrical *** flow batteries, particularly those employing.org.nic molecules, are positioned as a key technolog. for this purpose. This review explores the g.owing.field of symmetric org.nic redox flow batteries(ORFBs) within this context. Unlike traditional asymmetric desig.s based on unique active materials for each electrode, symmetric ORFBs involve a sing.e bipolar species for both electrodes. This review hig.lig.ts the benefits of a symmetric desig., and categ.rizes five distinct classes of org.nic bipolar molecules used in both aqueous and non-aqueous solvents. By providing.a comprehensive overview of their cell cycling.and performance characteristics, the streng.hs and weaknesses of the diverse categ.ries of bipolar molecules are hig.lig.ted for both solvent systems, as are opportunities for future development. This should g.ide new research directions and advance the development of practical symmetric ORFBs.

In the present paper, a multi-linearity method is used to address the nonlinear slip control equation for the hydrodynamic analysis of a two-dimensional （2-D） slip g.p flow. Numerical analysis of a finite leng.h slider bearing.with wall slip shows that the surface limiting.shear stress exerts complicated influences on the hydrodynamic behavior of the g.p flow. If the slip occurs at either the stationary surface or the moving.surface （especially at the stationary surface）, there is a transition point in the initial limiting.shear stress for the proportional coefficient to affect the hydrodynamic load support in two opposite ways： it increases the hydrodynamic load support at hig.er initial limiting.shear stresses, but decreases the hydrodynamic load support at lower initial limiting.shear stresses. If the slip occurs at the moving.surface only, no fluid pressure is g.nerated in the case of null initial limiting.shear stress. If the slip occurs at both the surfaces with the same slip property, the hydrodynamic load support g.es off after a critical sliding.speed is reached. A small initial limiting.shear stress and a small proportionality coefficient always g.ve rise to a low friction drag.

The nonlinear atomistic interactions usually involve softening.behavior. Instability resulting.directly from this softening.are called the material instability, while those unrelated to this softening.are called the structural instability. We use the finite-deformation shell theory based on the interatomic potential to show that the tension instability of sing.e-wall carbon nanotubes is the material instability, while the compression and torsion instabilities are structural instability.

Sexual dimorphism is often used as a proxy for the intensity of sexual selection in comparative studies of sexual selection and diversification. The Mexican g.odeinae are a g.oup of livebearing.freshwater fishes with larg. variation between species in sexual dimorphism in body shape. Previously we found an association between variation in morpholog.cal sexual dimorphism between species and the amount of g.ne flow within populations in the g.odeinae. Here we have examined if mor- pholog.cal differentiation within a sing.e dimorphic species is related to assortative mating.or g.ne flow between populations. In the Amarillo fish g.rardinichthys multiradiatus studies have shown that exag.erated male fins are targ.ts of female preferences. We find that populations of the species differ in the level of sexual dimorphism displayed due to faster evolution of differences in male than female morpholog.. However, this does not predict variation in assortative mating.tests in the laboratory; in fact dif- ferences in male morpholog. are neg.tively correlated with assortative mating. Microsatellite markers reveal sig.ificant g.netic differences between populations. However, g.ne flow is not predicted by either morpholog.cal differences or assortative mating. Rather, it demonstrates a pattern of isolation by distance with g.eater differentiation between watersheds. We discuss the caveats of predicting.behavioural and g.netic diverg.nce from so-called proxies of sexual selection [current Zoolog. 58 （3）： 440-452, 2012].
