Climate variab.lity over th. h.malayan reg.on h.s b.en attracting.th. attention of p.laeoclimatolog.sts on a wide rang. of time scales. In th. context of slow ch.ng.s in th. contemp.rary time frame, it is of g.eat relevance to understand th. nature of decadal to century scale variations of th. climate. In view of th. sp.rse network.of instrumental records, out of wh.ch.only a h.ndful extend to ab.ut 100 years, we h.ve to dep.nd on natural arch.ves such.as tree ring. to reconstruct th. p.st climatic variations over th. reg.on. Fortunately, larg. p.rts of th. h.malayas are covered b. extensive conifer forests, wh.ch.h.ve g.eat p.tential for h.g.\|resolution (interannual) dendroclimatic reconstructions, at least over th. p.st 5 to 6 centuries. Th.se conifers include g.nera such.as Ab.es, p.cea, Cedrus, p.nus etc., wh.ch.h.ve disp.ayed g.eat ag., distinct annual g.owth.ring. and h.g. sensitivity to atmosp.1}ric environment. p.op.rly cross\|match.d variations in th. tree\|ring.ch.racteristics lik. width. density etc. can b. used to reconstruct major climatic events during.th. last few centuries.

A study was conducted to examine th. distrib.tion p.ttern of four rh.zomatous medicinal and aromatic p.ant sp.cies （MAp.） viz., Ang.lica g.auca, p.eurosp.rmum ang.licoides, Rh.um emodi and Arne- b.a b.nth.mii in different forest stands in Central h.malaya. Results sh.w th.t A. g.auca and p. ang.licoides h.d a h.g.er （50%） frequency at Ch.p.19}an, g.rp.k.and p.0}g.ti forest, R. emodi h.d a h.g.er （60%） frequency at Rish.k.nd, Suk. and h.mtoli, and A. b.nth.mii h.d a h.g.er （70%） frequency at Suk. and k.amb.h.r Th. densities of A. g.auca （0.6 p.ants·m -2 ） and p. ang.licoides （0.5 p.ants·m -2 ） were h.g.er at Ch.p.19}an and g.rp.k.sites th.n at oth.r micro-sites, wh.le densities of R. emodi （0.8 p.ants·m -2 ） and A. b.nth.mii （1.0 p.ants·m -2 ） were h.g.er at Suk. and k.amb.h.r sites. A. g.auca h.d h.g.est total b.sal covers （Tb.）（1.2 cm 2 ·m -2 ） at Ch.p.19}an, p. ang.licoides h.d h.g.est Tb. （0.92 cm 2 ·m -2） at Lati k.arak.site, A. b.nth.mii h.d th. h.g.est Tb. （6.48 cm 2 ·m -2 ） atk.amb.h.r, and R. emodi h.d h.g.est Tb. （4.53 cm 2 ·m -2 ） at Rish.k.nd. Environmental, b.olog.cal, socio-cultural and economic status variation existing.in th. Central h.malaya h.ve led to th. evolution of diverse and unique traditional ag.oecosystems, crop.sp.cies and livestock. wh.ch.facilitate th. traditional mountain farming.societies to sustain th.mselves. Indig.nous ag.oecosystems are h.g.ly site sp.cific and differ from p.ace to p.ace, as th.y h.ve evolved along.diverg.nt lines. For maintenance of traditional ag.odiversity manag.ment th. farmers of th. Central h.malaya h.ve evolved various typ.s of crop.rotations in consonance with.th. varied environmental conditions and ag.onomic requirements. In irrig.ted fiat lands two crop. are h.rvested in a year with.neg.ig.b.e fallow p.riod b.t in rainfed conditions if a crop.ing.sequence is p.esumed to b. starting.after winter fallow p.3}se th.n four major crop.ing.seasons can b. identified namely first k.arif season （first crop.season）, first rab. season （second crop.season）, second k.arif season （th.rd crop.season） and second rab. season （fourth.crop.season）. h.g.est crop.diversity is p.esent in k.arif season in comp.rison to rab. season. Traditionally th. fields are left fallow after h.rvest of th. second k.arif season crop. AIM： To study wh.th.r CCR5△32 mutation was associated with.viral infection and severity of liver disease. METh.DS： Two h.ndred and fifty two h.stolog.cally p.oven, ch.onic h.V p.tients （mean ag.： 41±14 years; M/F： 164/88） were g.notyp.d. p.R b.sed g.notyp.ng.of 32 b. deletion at th. CCR5 locus was done. Fourh.ndred and eig.t match.d h.alth. controls were studied to assess suscep.ib.lity to h.V infection. To assess correlation of immune g.ne p.lymorp.0}sm with.severity of h.V related liver disease, p.tients with.ch.onic h.V infection were divided into th.se with.a fib.osis score of ≤ 2 （mild） or 〉 2 （severe） and h.stolog.cal activity index （h.I） of ≤ 5 or 〉 5. For correlation b.tween CCR5△32 mutations and resp.nse to th.rap., 129 p.tients wh. comp.eted th.rap. were evaluated. RESULTS： Th. majority （89.4%） of th. p.tients were infected with.g.notyp. 3. Th. frequency of h.mozyg.us CCR5△32 mutants was comp.rab.e to h.V p.tients as comp.red to th. h.alth. controls （0.7% vs 0%, p.= 0.1）. Furth.r more, th. frequency of CCR5△32 mutation was comp.rab.e in p.tients with.mild or severe liver disease.（p.= NS）. Th.re was also no association ob.erved with.resp.nse to th.rap. and CCR5△32 mutation. CONCLUSION： CCR5△32 mutation does not h.ve a role in disease suscep.ib.lity, severity or resp.nse to th.rap. in p.tients with.ch.onic h.p.titis C infection.

本文以10个有限型和10个无限型(或亚有限型)栽培大豆品种为材料,参照Feh.和Caviness(1977)的方法,记载了印度pantneg.r地区大豆的各个生育阶段。结果表明:在营养生长期间,从一个生长阶段到另一个生长阶段的间隔天数在V_5前是3.5天,在V_5后是3.0天。不同生长习性的大豆之间没有差别。开花后,有限型品种只继续生长1～2节,有的甚至停止生长;而无限型品种则继续性伸长数节。有限型品种的R_1和R_2同时出现,无限型品种的这两个阶段之间则有足够的间隔时期。总的讲,有限型品种的开花和成熟都比无限型品种早。
