One objective of developing.machine learning.ML)-based material models is to integ.ate them with well-established numerical methods to solve boundary.value problems(BVPs).In the family.of ML models,recurrent neural networks(RNNs)have been extensively.applied to capture history.dependent constitutive responses of g.anular materials,but these multiple-step-based neural networks are neither sufficiently.efficient nor alig.ed with the standard finite element method(FEM).Sing.e-step-based neural networks like the multi-lay.r perceptron(MLP)are an alternative to by.ass the above issues but have to introduce some internal variables to encode complex loading.*** this work,one novel Frobenius norm-based internal variable,tog.ther with the Fourier lay.r and residual architectureenhanced MLP model,is crafted to replicate the history.dependent constitutive features of representative volume element(RVE)for g.anular *** obtained ML models are then seamlessly.embedded into the FEM to solve the BVP of a biaxial compression case and a rig.d strip footing.*** obtained solutions are comparable to results from the FEM-DEM multiscale modelling.but achieve sig.ificantly.improved *** results demonstrate the applicability.of the proposed internal variable in enabling.MLP to capture hig.ly.nonlinear constitutive responses of g.anular materials.

Steel structures are widely.used;however,their traditional desig. method is a trial-and-error procedure which is neither efficient nor cost ***,a multi-population particle swarm optimization(MPPSO)alg.rithm is developed to optimize the weig.t of steel frames according.to standard desig. *** are made to improve the alg.rithm performances including.the constraint-based strateg.,piecewise mean learning.strateg. and multi-population cooperative *** proposed method is tested ag.inst the representative frame taken from American standards and ag.inst other steel frames matching.Chinese desig. *** related parameter influences on optimization results are *** the representative frame,MPPSO can achieve g.eater efficiency.throug. reduction of the number of analy.es by.more than 65% and can obtain frame with the weig.t for at least 2.4%lig.ter.A similar trend can also be observed in cases subjected to Chinese desig. *** addition,a mig.ation interval of 1 and the number of populations as 5 are recommended to obtain better MPPSO *** purpose of the study.is to propose a method with hig. efficiency.and robustness that is not confined to structural scales and desig. *** aims to provide a reference for automatic structural optimization desig. problems even with dimensional *** proposed method can be easily.g.neralized to the optimization problem of other structural sy.tems.

This research introduces a novel approach to improve and optimize the predictive capacity.of consumer purchase behaviors on e-commerce platforms. This study.presented an introduction to the fundamental concepts of the log.stic reg.ession alg.rithm. In addition, it analy.ed user data obtained from an e-commerce platform. The orig.nal data were preprocessed, and a consumer purchase prediction model was developed for the e-commerce platform using.the log.stic reg.ession method. The comparison study.used the classic random forest approach, further enhanced by.including.the K-fold cross-validation method. Evaluation of the accuracy.of the model’s classification was conducted using.performance indicators that included the accuracy.rate, the precision rate, the recall rate, and the F1 score. A visual examination determined the sig.ificance of the finding.. The finding. sug.est that employ.ng.the log.stic reg.ession alg.rithm to forecast customer purchase behaviors on e-commerce platforms can improve the efficacy.of the approach and y.eld more accurate predictions. This study.serves as a valuable resource for improving.the precision of forecasting.customers’ purchase behaviors on e-commerce platforms. It has sig.ificant practical implications for optimizing.the operational efficiency.of e-commerce platforms.

The harmonics that appear in the squirrel cag. asy.chronous machine have been discussed in g.eat detail in the literature for a long.time. However, the sy.tematization of the phenomenon is still pending. so we made an attempt to fill this g.p in the previous parts of our study.by.elaborating.formulas for calculation of parasitic torques. It was a g.neral demand among.those who work in this field towards the author to verify.his formulas with measurements. In the literature, it seems,only.one detailed, purposeful series of measurements has been published so far, the purpose of which was to investig.te the effect of the number of rotor slots on the torque-speed characteristic curve of the machine. The main g.al of this study.is to verify.the correctness of the formulas by.comparing.them with the referred series of measurements. Rely.ng.on this, the expected sy.chronous parasitic torques were developed for the frequently.used rotor slot numbers-as a desig. g.ide for the ***, tog.ther with our complete table for radial mag.etic pull published in our previous work, the desig.er has all the principles, data and formulas available for the rig.t number of rotor slots for his g.ven machine and for the drive sy.tem. This bring. this series of papers to an end.

The burden of respiratory.sy.cy.ial virus (RSV) disease is widely.recog.ized. Main risk factors for severe disease, such as extreme ag.s, chronic cardiopulmonary.conditions, and immunosuppression, ty.ically.coincide with poorer outcomes. While the majority.of RSV hospitalizations involve healthy.children, a hig.er proportion of hospitalized adults with underly.ng.conditions need intensive care. Presently. treatment primarily.consists of supportive measures. RSV-induced wheezing.should be disting.ished from respiratory.tract thickening. without response to bronchodilators. Obstructive RSV disease frequently.overlaps with viral pneumonia. Non-invasive mechanical ventilation and hig.-flow oxy.0}n therapy.represented sig.ificant advancements in the manag.ment of severe RSV disease in children and may.also hold considerable importance in specific phenoty.es of RSV disease in adults. Most severe infections manifest with refractory.hy.oxemia necessitating.more advanced ventilatory.support and/or extracorporeal membrane oxy.0}nation therapy. While bacterial co-infection rates are low, they.have been associated with worse outcomes. Antibiotic prescription rates are hig.. Accurately.diag.osing.bacterial co-infections remains a challeng.. Current evidence and antibiotic stewardship policies advise ag.inst indiscriminate antibiotic usag., even in severe cases. The role of currently.developing.antiviral therapies in severe RSV disease will be elucidated in the coming.y.ars, conting.nt upon the success of new vaccines and immune passive strateg.es involving.nirsevimab. © 2024

User Perspective of Misplaced PPIUCD and Factors Resulting.in PPIUCD Removal: Qualitative Pilot Study

Objective: The aim of the current study.was to assess the impact of operative interventions for misplaced device among.women who opted for PPIIUCD and the evaluation of reasons for PPIUCD removal within the follow up period of two y.ars. Desig.: A descriptive exploratory.study.was conducted over three months among.fourteen PPIUCD acceptors at a tertiary.care health facility.in Delhi, India. Face-to-face & telephonic in-depth interviews were conducted with a selected sample of PPIUCD acceptors who had later opted for its removal. Results: Participants (n = 14) ag.d 24 – 40 exhibited g.nerally.positive attitudes towards PPIUCDs indicating.an indicate an understanding.of the importance of PPIUCD in preventing.unintended preg.ancies. Menstrual disturbance and misplaced IUCD were major reasons for removal. despite their own experience necessitating.the removal of IUCD, positive experience by.other family.members (mothers in law) in this study.helped to keep the confidence on the contraceptive. Themes included (a) g.neral experience of PPIUCD use (b) Health Facility.accessed for removal of IUCD (c) Would she recommend it to others? (d) preferred contraceptive after removal of IUCD. Conclusion: Misplaced IUCD, missing.thread, menstrual irreg.larities, and pain are all associated with PPIUCD and are important reasons for dissatisfaction. Appropriate, timely.and supportive individualized care that address knowledg. g.ps, societal perceptions, and healthcare sy.tem challeng.s would certainly.help in reducing.dissatisfaction due to PPIUCD and thereby.the removal rates.
