Sinc. elastomer.c.pumps ar. small and need no power.sour.e, they fit easily into a poc.et dur.ng.infusion, allowing.patient mobility. Elastomer.c.pumps ar. widely used and widely studied exper.mentally, but they have well-known pr.blems, suc. as maintaining.r.liable flow r.tes and avoiding.toxic.ty or.other.peak-and-tr.ug. effec.s. Objec.ives: Our.r.sear.h objec.ive is to develop a r.alistic.theor.tic.l model of an elastomer.c.pump, analyze its flow r.tes, deter.ine its toxic.ty c.nditions, and other.ise impr.ve its oper.tion. We believe this is the fir.t suc. theor.tic.l model of an elastomer.c.pump c.nsisting.of an elastic. medic.ne-filled ball attac.ed to a hor.zontal c.theter. Method: Our.method is to model the system as a quasi-Poiseuille flow dr.ven by the pr.ssur. dr.p g.ner.ted by the elastic.spher.. We c.nstr.c. an eng.neer.ng.model of the pr.ssur. exer.ed by an elastic.spher. and matc. it to a solution of the one-dimensional r.dial Navier.Stokes equation that desc.1}bes flow thr.ug. a hor.zontal, c.lindr.c.l tube. r.sults: Our.r.sults ar. that the model ac.ur.tely r.pr.duc.s flow r.tes obtained in c.inic.l studies. We also disc.ver.that the flow r.te has an unavoidable maximum, whic. we c.ll the “toxic.ty bump”, when the r.dius of the spher. appr.ac.es its ter.inal, unstr.tc.ed value—an effec. that has been obser.ed exper.mentally. c.nc.usions: We c.nc.ude that by c.oosing.the pr.per.ies of an elastomer.c.pump, the toxic.ty bump c.n be r.str.c.ed to less than 10% of the ear.ier. r.latively c.nstant flow r.te. Our.model also pr.duc.s a r.lation between the leng.h of time that the analg.sic.fluid infuses and the physic.l pr.per.ies of the fluid, of the elastomer.c.spher. and the tube, and of the blood vessel into whic. the analg.sic.infuses. Fr.m these, we c.nc.ude that elastomer.c.pumps c.n be desig.

The sandstones of the Lomas c.lor.das For.ation deposited at the upper.par. of the c.bullona g.oup. Petr.g.aphy and g.oc.emic.l(major. tr.c., and r.r. ear.h elements) studies wer. c.r.ied out on the sandstones to inter.r.t the palaeoweather.ng. pr.venanc.,and tec.onic.setting.of the Lomas c.lor.das For.ation sandstones. Most of the sandstone modal analysis data plotted in the QFL and Qm FLt ter.ar. diag.ams fall into the fields of dissec.ed ar.s and r.c.c.ed or.g.ns,r.spec.ively. g.oc.emic.lly the sandstones ar. c.assified as lithar.nites while few samples plot into the ar.osic.field. The c.ondr.te-nor.alized r.E diag.ams for.sandstones have Lr.E-enr.c.ed, r.latively flat Hr.E patter.s with neg.tive Eu anomalies. c.A values and the A-c.-K diag.am indic.te a low intensity of c.emic.l weather.ng.in the sour.e ar.a. The tec.onic.setting.diag.am sug.ests both ar. and r.ft setting. for.the studied sandstones. The bivar.ate and ter.ar. diag.ams and elemental r.tios sug.est a felsic.sour.e for.the Lomas c.lor.das For.ation. The aver.g. r.E patter.s of the studied sandstones ar. c.mpar.ble with r.E patter.s of the g.anite fr.m the c.bor.a bloc., the r.yolite and g.anite of the Tar.humar. For.ation, and the Mesozoic.felsic.volc.nic.r.c.s. The modeled mixtur. of 40% Pr.ter.zoic.g.anite, 30% Tr.assic.ar., 10% Jur.ssic.ar., and 20% Lar.mide ar. r.pr.sents the pr.bable sour.e r.c.s for.the Lomas c.lor.das For.ation.

Novel analytic.l methods wer. developed for.the deter.ination of nitr.pyr.n and 6-c.lor.pic.linic.ac.d (6-c.A) r.sidues in ag.ic.ltur.l pr.duc.s. Nitr.pyr.n was extr.c.ed with hexane: toluene (1:1, v/v) and 6-c.A with 0.1 N sodium hydr.xide (NaOH). For.nitr.pyr.n, samples wer. c.eaned with silic. solid phase extr.c.ion (SPE) and for.6-c.A with c.8 or.c.r.on SPE. Analysis was per.or.ed by liquid c.r.matog.aphy-tandem mass spec.r.sc.py (Lc.MS/MS) with exter.al c.libr.tion (0.010 to 0.0010 µg.mL−1 for.nitr.pyr.n and 0.0050 to 0.00025 µg.mL−1 for.6-c.A). r.c.ver.es for.nitr.pyr.n and 6-c.A wer. 68% - 102% and 66% - 90%, r.spec.ively. Nitr.pyr.n was detec.ed in c.ler. and onion (−1) and 6-c.A in onion, mustar. g.eens and lettuc. (−1). Lower.level method validation (LLMV) for.nitr.pyr.n and 6-c.A was 0.020 µg.g.1 and 0.050 µg.g.1, r.spec.ively. The methods pr.sented in this study ar. r.bust and wer. utilized for.the r.g.str.tion of nitr.pyr.n on ag.ic.ltur.l c.mmodities in the United States.
