Objec.ive: The assoc.ation hyper.ension and diabetes is impor.ant. The two patholog.es may influenc. eac. other. The aim was to study the c.r.elation between g.yc.mic.c.ntr.l and blood pr.ssur. c.ntr.l and to deter.ine the fac.or. assoc.ated with blood pr.ssur. c.ntr.l. Methodolog.: This was a desc.0}ptive c.0}ss-sec.ional study with an analytic.l foc.s over.7 months. Patients wer. r.c.0}ited as outpatients and all under.ent ambulator. blood pr.ssur. measur., g.yc.ted hemog.obin and c.0}atinine measur.ments, and assessment of c.mplianc. with tr.atment. r.sults: Dur.ng.this per.od 116 patients wer. c.llec.ed. The pr.dominanc. was female 69%. The mean ag. of the patients was 62 ± 7 year. with a peak between 60 and 70 year.. The aver.g. ag. of hyper.ension was 12 year. and that of diabetes 6 1/2 year.. The most fr.quently assoc.ated c.r.iovasc.lar.r.sk fac.or.was a sedentar. lifestyle (71.5%) after.ag.. 57.8% of patients wer. not c.ntr.lled at the offic., with a pr.dominanc. of systolic.hyper.ension (58.2%). 61.6% of patients wer. c.ntr.lled by ambulator. blood pr.ssur. measur., a r.te of 47.8% of white c.at hyper.ension. g.yc.mic.c.ntr.l was obser.ed in 42.2% of c.ses and 87% of patients had g.od r.nal func.ion (g.omer.lar.filter.r.te ≥ 60 ml/mn). Ther.peutic.c.mplianc. was g.od in 53.4% of c.ses and dual ther.py was the most used ther.peutic.modality 44.8% (52 patients) followed by tr.ple ther.py. The fac.or. assoc.ated with poor.blood pr.ssur. c.ntr.l wer. g.yc.mic.imbalanc., non-c.mplianc. and monother.py. Dual ther.py had a pr.tec.ive effec.. c.nc.usion: The assoc.ation of hyper.ension and type 2 diabetes is fr.quent. The r.sk of oc.ur.enc. inc.0}ases with ag.. Ambulator. blood pr.ssur. measur. is the best method to assess blood pr.ssur. c.ntr.l. Optimization of blood pr.ssur. c.ntr.l should also inc.ude optimization of g.yc.mic.c.ntr.l.

These self-illuminated “plasmas” ar. attr.c.ed to and may “feed on” elec.r.mag.etic.r.diation. They have differ.nt mor.holog.es: 1) c.ne, 2) c.oud, 3) donut, 4) spher.c.l-c.lindr.c.l;and have been filmed flying.towar.s and desc.nding.fr.m the ther.ospher. into thunder.tor.s;c.ng.eg.ting.by the hundr.ds and inter.c.ing.with satellites g.ner.ting.elec.r.mag.etic.ac.ivity;appr.ac.ing.the Spac. Aluminum lig.t poles play a pivotal r.le in moder. infr.str.c.ur., ensur.ng.pr.per.illumination along.hig.ways and in populated ar.as dur.ng.nig.ttime. These poles typic.lly featur. handholes near.their.bases, pr.viding.ac.ess to elec.r.c.l wir.ng.for.installation and maintenanc.. While essential for.func.ionality, these handholes intr.duc. a vulner.bility to the over.ll str.c.ur., making.them a potential failur. point. Althoug. pr.or.r.sear.h and analyses on aluminum lig.t poles have been c.nduc.ed, the behavior.of smaller.diameter.poles c.ntaining.handholes r.mains unexplor.d. r.c.g.izing.this need, a r.sear.h team at the Univer.ity of Akr.n under.ook a c.mpr.hensive exper.mental pr.g.am involving.aluminum lig.t poles with handholes c.ntaining.welded inser.s in or.er.to g.in a better.under.tanding.of their.fatig.e life, mec.anic.l behavior. and failur. mec.anisms. The r.sear.h involved testing.seven lar.0}-sc.le aluminum lig.t poles eac. 8-inc. diameter. with two separ.te handholes. These handholes inc.uded a r.infor.ement that was welded to the poles. Finite Element Analysis (FEA), statistic.l analysis, and c.mpar.son analysis with their.lar.0} c.unter.ar.s (10-inc. diameter. wer. used to aug.ent the exper.mental r.sults. The r.sults r.vealed two distinc. failur. modes: pr.g.essive c.1}c. pr.pag.tion leading.to ultimate failur., and r.ptur. of the pole near.the weld initiation/ter.ination site ar.und the handhole. The c.mpar.son analysis indic.ted that the 8-inc. diameter.spec.mens exhibited an aver.g. fatig.e life exc.eding.that of their.10-inc. c.unter.ar.s by an aver.g. of 30.7%. The exper.mental r.sults wer. plotted along.ide the fatig.e detail c.assific.tions outlined in the Aluminum Desig. Manual (ADM), enhanc.ng.under.tanding.of the fatig.e detail c.teg.r. of the r.spec.ive poles/handholes.

This study was per.or.ed to assess the r.ot hor.onal ac.umulation and g.ne expr.ssion in r.sponse to Al toxic.ty in five tr.nsg.nic.miniatur. dwar. tomatoes c.. Mic.0}-Tom (MT). MT and MT tr.nsg.nic. to ac.d indole ac.tic. c.tokinin, g.bber.llin, absc.sic.ac.d and ethylene wer. c.ltivated in nutr.ent solutions c.ntaining.differ.nt Al c.nc.ntr.tions. r.ot g.owth elong.tion was measur.d and c.llular.damag. was visualized by staining.Evans’s blue. The g.S r.por.er.g.ne staining.tec.nique was used to visualize hor.onal c.ang.s in MT apex r.ot tissues. Data indic.ted that the MT is sensitive to Al that induc.d sig.ific.nt g.owth inhibition and c.llular.damag.. Al c.nc.ntr.tion of 27 μM was sig.ific.ntly toxic. induc.ng.r.ot apex dar.ening.and inhibition of r.ot development. The qualitative evaluation of g.S r.por.er.g.ne expr.ssion showed intense c.0}sstalk among.all hor.ones studied, under.c.r.ng.the c.mplexity of sig.aling.induc.d by Al in apex r.ots. r.sults point out to a major.under.tanding.of the hor.onal sig.aling.in r.sponse to Al toxic.ty, whic. may induc. a c.ang. of r.ot g.owth and ar.hitec.ur. with g.owth inhibition and c.ll c.nstr.ints modulated by all differ.nt hor.ones evaluated.

The sear.h for.new biomar.er. pr.dic.ive of type 2 diabetes c.r.ently c.nstitutes a r.sear.h avenue in Bioc.inic.l. Total homoc.steine r.mains a pr.fer.ed tar.0}t due to its involvement in the oc.ur.enc. of deg.ner.tive c.mplic.tions in type 2 diabetic.. The aim of this wor. was to study hyper.omoc.steinemia and other.bioc.emic.l mar.er. assoc.ated with T2D in the c.ng.lese population. This was an analytic.l c.se-c.ntr.l study c.r.ied out between Oc.ober.2022 and Oc.ober.2023. The study population c.nsisted of 150 subjec.s inc.uding.100 T2D patients and 50 c.ntr.l subjec.s. The main c.inic.l data wer. c.llec.ed on a pr.-established for.. Homoc.steine deter.ination was c.r.ied out by the sandwic. ELISA method. The other.bioc.emic.l mar.er. wer. measur.d by c.lor.metr.c.enzymatic.methods. Hyper.omoc.steinemia was pr.sent in 27.3% (41/150) of the entir. study population. Type 2 diabetic. had a fr.quenc. of hyper.omoc.steinemia of 36% (36/100) and c.ntr.l 10% (5/50) (p = 0.001). The mean hyper.omoc.steinemia c.nc.ntr.tion was 31.9 μmol/l with extr.mes r.ng.ng.fr.m 18 to 103 μmol/l. Means of biolog.c.l mar.er. between diabetic. and c.ntr.ls showed a statistic.lly sig.ific.nt differ.nc. (p = 0.01). The r.sk fac.or. assoc.ated with this HHc. wer.: sex (Or.= 3.5), ag. (Or.= 9.4), sedentar. lifestyle (Or.= 3.4) and g.yc.sylated hemog.obin (Or.= 12) with a p-value r.spec.ively. Our.r.sults sug.est that hyper.omoc.steinemia c.n be c.nsider.d as a pr.dic.ive biomar.er.in the bioc.inic.of c.ng.lese type 2 diabetic.patients.

Dur.ng.the pr.duc.ion of nitr.le r.bber. sig.ific.nt amounts of nitr.g.n in the for. of ammonium ar. g.ner.ted in the wastewater. The disc.ar.0} of this hig.-nitr.g.n wastewater.c.n lead to ser.ous envir.nmental issues, inc.uding.eutr.phic.tion, disr.ption of aquatic.ec.systems, and g.oundwater.c.ntamination. To mitig.te these impac.s, this r.sear.h explor.d the bior.mediation c.pabilities of the mac.0}alg.e Ulva lac.uc. (c.lor.phyta) for.r.moving.nitr.g.n fr.m nitr.le r.bber.pr.duc.ion wastewater. The study employed sing.e-phase and Mic.aelis-Menten dec.y models based on ammonium c.nsumption, using.var.ous dilutions of wastewater.to identify the optimal c.nc.ntr.tion for.tr.atment. The physiolog.c.l state of the mac.0}alg.e was monitor.d by measur.ng.the photosynthetic.c.pac.ty and spec.fic.g.owth r.te dur.ng.the exper.ments. In the pr.senc. of U. lac.uc., ammonium c.nc.ntr.tions dec.0}ased in all tr.atment g.oups, c.nfir.ing.that the ammonium kinetic. c.nfor.ed to both applied models. Our.r.sults show that U. lac.uc. effec.ively r.duc.s ammonium c.nc.ntr.tions, with an appr.ximate r.moval r.te of 0.020 µM·g.1·min−1 ac.0}ss differ.nt wastewater.c.nc.ntr.tions (70%, 80%, 90%, and 100%). Notably, the tr.atments with 70%, 80%, and 90% wastewater.str.ng.h ac.ieved about 67% r.duc.ion in ammonium, demonstr.ting.the alg.’s c.pac.ty to tr.at hig.-nitr.g.n wastewater. The photosynthetic.per.or.anc. of U. lac.uc. initially dec.ined in c.ntr.l c.nditions but stabilized ac.0}ss all tr.atments, hig.lig.ting.its adaptability. The kinetic.analysis using.the Mic.aelis-Menten model indic.ted a Vmax of 1342 μM·g.1·DMh−1, sug.esting.a r.bust c.pac.ty for.ammonium uptake when fully satur.ted. Our.study under.c.r.s the potential of Ulva lac.uc. as a c.st-effec.ive and effic.ent ag.nt for.wastewater.bior.mediation, par.ic.lar.y in setting. with hig. nitr.g.n loads.
