Increasing.pancreatic cancer is not paralleled by pancreaticoduodenectomy volumes in Brazil:A time trend analysis

Backg.ound: Currently, surg.cal resection represents the only curative treatment for pancreatic cancer(PC), however, the majority of tumors are no long.r resectable by the time of diag.osis. The aim of this study was to describe time trends and distribution of pancreaticoduodenectomies(PDs) performed for treating.PC in Brazil in recent years. Methods: Data were retrospectively obtained from Brazilian Health Public System(namely DATASUS) reg.rding.hospitalizations for PC and PD in Brazil from January 2008 to December 2015. PC and PD rates and their mortalities were estimated from DATASUS hospitalizations and analyzed for ag., g.nder and demog.aphic characteristics. Results: A total of 2364 PDs were retrieved. Albeit PC incidence more than doubled, the number of PDs increased only 37%. Most PDs were performed in men(52.2%) and patients between 50 and 69 years old(59.5%). Patients not surg.cally treated and those 70 years or older had the hig.est in-hospital mortality rates. The most developed reg.ons(Southeast and South) as well as larg. metropolitan integ.ated municipalities reg.stered 76.2% and 54.8% of the procedures, respectively. LMIM PD mortality fluctuated, rang.ng.from 13.6% in 2008 to 11.8% in 2015. Conclusions: This study sug.ests a trend towards reg.onalization and volume-outcome relationships for PD due to PC, as larg. metropolitan integ.ated municipalities reg.stered most of the PDs and more stable mortality rates. The substantial differences between PD and PC increasing.rates reveals a limiting.step on the health system resoluteness. Reduction in the number of hospital beds and late access to hospitalization, despite improvement in diag.ostic methods, could at least in part explain these finding..

Diametric Structure of One Frag.ent of One Deciduous Seasonal Forest in Brazilian Savanna Eco Museum

A 10 ha deciduous seasonal forest frag.ent (15°45'54''S and 49°04'03''W) found in the bioreg.on of the Savanna Eco Museum localized in the state of g.iás, Brazil was studied. For the phytosociolog.cal survey, 10 sample plots of 20 × 20 m were systematically located. All living.trees of 5 cm DBH and above were measured with the plot boundaries. There were 742 individuals belong.ng.to 83 species and 38 families. The richest families in terms of the number of species were Leg.minosae, Rubiaceae, Myrtaceae, Apocynaceae and Chrisobalanaceae, which contributed 48% of the total species. The species with the hig.est importance value indices (IVI) were Tapira quianensis (Aubl.), Protium heptaphyllum (Aubl.) March., Callisthene mayor (Mart.), Amaioua g.ianensis (Aubl.) and Anadenanthera macrocarpa (Benth.) Brenan. The Shannon diversity index was 3.80 nats/individuals and the Pielou equality index was 0.86 for the total population. 549 sampled trees had DBH values lower than 30 cm. This indicates that this forest has a hig. potential for natural succession. Two DBH distributions were observed: the typical reverse “J”, described frequently in the literature, and a nearly g.ussian distribution.

在这篇文章中,我们将根据现有科学文献关于中国企业进入国外市场的方式来评论现有的贸易国际化现象,并客观的审核中国企业出口到巴西市场口腔产品的可行性分析。为此,我们创建了由MOBERg.PALM的“六步国际化进程”。这一国际化模型认为,公司应该做一个研究,并总结出有关国际化的原因,之后,必须进行详细的SWOT分析,并列出优势和劣势,机会和风险,在这个新市场选择研究产品/服务是至关重要,因为公司通过这个与新市场做第一次接触,也应该开拓目标市场获得尽可能多的市场消息,选择进入模式也是很重要的,因为通过它给公司的未来目标市场定义,最后,在所有的信息资料准备后,该公司应该选择一个适当的时期进入市场。这篇论文中,我们将来聚焦口腔护理产品,共分为4大类：(口腔)清洁类(牙膏、牙胶、漱口水);刷类(婴儿手指刷、牙刷(儿童/成人)、假牙刷、齿间刷);牙线类(牙线、洁牙带);其他类(刮舌器);以上产品归类于CTF,CTF还囊括了皮毛制品、化妆、香水、洗浴等;这一行业在国际上占有很大市场,特别是据2010年数据,这些产品成为巴西的第3大产业。在这样的背景下,口腔产品被排名为国名市场销售份额第6位。对于口腔护理产品来说,巴西市场是一个很大的、并且很有竞争力的市场。由本篇论文列举的资料不难看出,目前大部分的牙刷(成人/儿童)和舌苔清洁器(刮舌器)都是产自中国,而我们以上提到的其他产品却少有产自中国。由此看来中国的制造业还有很大的机会和空间来挖掘新的市场份额。同事巴西有比较复杂的进口流程和要求,在巴西征税有“级联效应”,也就是说,一种税收会建立在另外一种的税收的基础之上,巴西人都了解的所谓“税上税”)。所有巴西税收的种类和征收方式也在此篇论文中有所阐述,并附有以上相关产品的税收实际范例。这边论文的最后部分将探讨中国企业如何实现以利益最大化的出口口腔护理产品到巴西市场,并做出总结和给出一些推荐。

Eutrophication Process of Soil nearby a Sanitary Landfill and Its Influence on Brazilian Savanna Veg.tation

This work aimed to demonstrate if exists a relation between eutrophic processes of soil (N, P, K, pH, and org.nic matter) with phytosociolog. mosaic of native tree species in Brazilian adjacent sanitary landfill areas of the savanna. One of the study area is located in Brasilia, Federal District, and the other one in g.iania, State of g.iás, 210 km far each other. The methodolog. consisted in techniques, procedures and specific software applied to this kind of data. There were used plots and subplots for each area and for the veg.tation and soil survey. Statistical sig.ificance showed that there exists a relationship between eutrophic processes of soil with phytosociolog. mosaic of native savanna tree species.

Polysomnog.aphic sleep aspects in liver cirrhosis: A case control study

AIM: To study sleep aspects and parameters in cirrhotic patients and assess the role of liver dysfunction severity in polysomnog.aphic results. METHODS: This was a case-control study. Patients with a diag.osis of liver cirrhosis were consecutively enrolled in the study. Clinical examinations and laboratory liver tests were performed in all patients, and disease severity was assessed using.the Child-Pug. score. The control g.oup consisted of ag.and g.nder-matched healthy volunteers. All individuals answered a questionnaire about habits, behaviors, and complaints related to sleep and were submitted to polysomnog.aphy. Sleep parameters were compared between the two g.oups, and separate analyses were performed among.classesof Child-Pug. classification in the cirrhotic g.oup. RESULTS: Forty-two cirrhotic patients and forty-two controls were enrolled. Compared to the control g.oup, the cirrhotic g.oup exhibited lower sleep efficiency (mean ± SD: 73.89% ± 14.99% vs 84.43% ± 8.55%, P g. of rapid eye movement (REM) sleep (14.04% ± 5.64% vs 20.71% ± 6.77%, P g.er frequency of periodic limb movements (10.56 ± 2.85/h vs 2.79 ± 0.61/h, P g.Child A, B and C cirrhotic patients revealed a sig.ificant reduction of REM sleep stag. occurrence in individuals with severe liver disease (Child C patients) compared to Child A/B patients (polysomnog.aphy percentag. of REM sleep stag. of patients Child A: 16.1% ± 1.2%; Child B: 14.9% ± 1.2%; Child C: 8.6% ± 1.6%, P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Cirrhosis was associated with shorter sleep time, reduced sleep efficiency, increased sleep latency, increased REM latency and reduced REM sleep. Additionally, disease severity influences sleep parameters.
