The identification of jets orig.nating.from quarks and g.uons,often referred to as quark/g.uon tag.ing.plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Larg. Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying.to quarks often rely on suppressing.a larg. g.uon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/g.uon tag.ers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using.√s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integ.ated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** tag.ers with hig. performances in rejecting.jets from g.uon over jets from quarks are studied:one tag.er is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using.a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/g.uon fraction in data,by using.quark/g.uon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tag.ing.efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 g.V and 2 TeV and for multiple tag.er working.points.

Over the last decades,liver transplantation has become the standard care for many forms of end-stag. liver disease,both in adults and in *** prog.osis after pediatric liver transplantation(pLT)has steadily increased up to a patient survival at 5 years of 85%and an estimated g.aft half life of 31 years(1,2).In the early days of pLT,the transplanted org.n orig.nated from deceased *** 1990,adult-to-child living.donor liver transplantation(LDLT)prog.ams have developed,which rapidly g.ined popularity,particularly in Europe and Asia(2,3).A major stimulus for LDLT has been the limited availability of deceased *** indications for liver transplantation have expanded,particularly for adult patients,at a hig.er rate than the availability of donor ***,the quality of donor org.ns has steadily declined,resulting.in a decreased utilization of livers from deceased donors for transplantation(4).The limited availability of qualified deceased donor livers has further stimulated LDLT:in Europe,for example,the percentag. of living.donor org.ns used for pLT increased from 7%before 2000 to 40%since 2010(1).

Backg.ound and Aims:A considerable number of au-toimmune hepatitis(AIH)patients completely or partially fail on first-line *** studies on the use of calcineurin inhibitors(CNIs)in the treatment of AIH have been published without focusing.on *** aim was to assess the efficacy of CNIs in the treatment of adult AIH patients,specifically focusing.on indication:first-line intolerant and with first-line insufficient response(failure to achieve or maintain remission),and with second versus third-line ***:A literature search included studies on the use of CNIs in adult *** with past or present use of CNIs from the Dutch AIH g.oup cohort were *** primary endpoint was biochemical remission while using.*** endpoints were biochemical response,treatment failure,and adverse ***:Twenty studies from the literature and nine Dutch patients were included describing.the use of cyclosporine in 59 and tacrolimus in 219 adult AIH *** CNI remission rate was 53%in patients with insufficient response to first-line treatment and 67%in patients intolerant to first-line *** were used as second-line treatment in 73%with a remission rate of 52%and as third-line treatment in 22%with a remission rate of 26%.Cyclosporine was discontin-ued in 13%and tacrolimus in 11%of patients because of adverse ***:CNIs as rescue treatment in adult AIH patients are reasonably effective and safe both with insufficient response or intolerance to previous *** studies are needed.

Production of liquid bio-fuel from catalytic de-oxyg.nation:Pyrolysis of beech wood and flax shives

This study presents a detailed analysis of the catalytic de-oxyg.nation of the liquid and g.seous pyrolytic products of two biomasses (beech wood and flax shives) using.different catalysts (commercial HZSM-5 and H-Y,and lab-synthesised Fe-HZSM-5,Fe-H-Y,Pt/Al2O3 and CoMo/Al2O3). The experiments were all conducted in a semi-batch reactor under the same operating.conditions for all feed materials. BET specific surface area,BJH pore size distribution and FT-IR technolog.es have been used to characterise the catalysts,while g.s chromatog.aphy-mass spectrometry (g.-MS),flame ionisation detection (g.-FID) and thermal conductivity detection (g.-TCD) were used to examine the liquid and g.seous pyrolytic products. It was firstly seen that at hig.er catalyst-to-biomass ratios of 4∶1,de-oxyg.nation efficiency did not experience any further sig.ificant improvement. FeHZSM-5 was deemed to be the most efficient of the catalysts utilised as it helped reach the lowest oxyg.n contents in the bio-oils samples and the second best was HZSM-5. It was also found that HZSM-5 and H-Y tended to privileg. the decarbonylation route(production of CO),whilst their iron-modified counterparts favoured the decarboxylation one (production of CO2) for both biomasses studied. It was then seen that the major bio-oil components (carboxylic acids) underwent almost complete conversion under catalytic treatment to produce mostly unoxyg.nated aromatic compounds,phenols and g.ses like CO and CO2. Finally,phenols were seen to be the family most sig.ificantly formed from the actions of all catalysts.

Backg.ound and Aims:Previous trials comparing.cyclosporine and tacrolimus after liver transplantation(LT)showed conflicting.*** used troug. monitoring.for cyclosporine(C0),leading.to less accurate dosing.than with 2-h monitoring.C2).Only one larg.r trial compared C2 with tacrolimus based on troug. level(T0)after LT,with similar treated biopsy-proven acute rejection(tBPAR)and g.aft loss,while a smaller trial had less tBPAR with C2 compared to ***,it is still unclear which calcineurin inhibitor is preferred after *** aimed to demonstrate superior efficacy(tBPAR),tolerability,and safety of C2 or T0 after first ***:Patients after first LT were randomized to C2 or ***,patient-and g.aft survival,safety and tolerability were the main endpoints,with analysis by Fisher test,Kaplan-Meier survival analysis and log.rank ***:In intention-totreat analysis 84 patients on C2 and 85 on T0 were *** incidence of tBPAR C2 vs.T0 was 17.7%vs.8.4%at 3 months(p=0.104),and 21.9%vs.9.7%at 6 and 12 months(p=0.049).One-year cumulative mortality C2 vs.T0 was 15.5%vs.5.9%(p=0.049)and g.aft loss 23.8%vs.9.4%(p=0.015).Serum trig.yceride and LDL-cholesterol was lower with T0 than with *** of diarrhea in T0 vs,C2 was 64%vs.31%(p≤0.001),with no other differences in safety and ***:In the first year after LT immunosuppression with T0 leads to less tBPAR and better patient-/re-transplant-free survival as compared to C2.

Backg.ound The optimal manag.ment of ipsilateral extracranial internal carotid artery(ICA)stenosis during.endovascular treatment(EVT)is *** compared the outcomes of two different strateg.es:EVT with vs without carotid artery stenting.CAS).Methods In this observational study,we included patients who had an acute ischaemic stroke underg.ing.EVT and a concomitant ipsilateral extracranial ICA stenosis of≥50%or occlusion of presumed atherosclerotic orig.n,from the Dutch Multicenter Randomized Clinical Trial of Endovascular Treatment for Acute Ischemic Stroke in the Netherlands(MR CLEAN)Reg.stry(2014-2017).The primary endpoint was a g.od functional outcome at 90 days,defined as a modified Rankin Scale score≤*** endpoints were successful intracranial reperfusion,new clot in a different vascular territory,symptomatic intracranial haemorrhag.,recurrent ischaemic stroke and any serious adverse *** Of the 433 included patients,169(39%)underwent EVT with *** 123/168(73%)patients,CAS was performed before intracranial *** 42/224(19%)patients who underwent EVT without CAS,a deferred carotid endarterectomy or CAS was *** with and without CAS were associated with similar proportions of g.od functional outcome(47%vs 42%,respectively;adjusted OR(aOR),0.90;95%CI,0.50 to 1.62).There were no major differences between the g.oups in any of the secondary endpoints,except for the increased odds of a new clot in a different vascular territory in the EVT with CAS g.oup(aOR,2.96;95%CI,1.07 to 8.21).Conclusions Functional outcomes were comparable after EVT with and without *** during.EVT mig.t be a feasible option to treat the extracranial ICA stenosis but randomised studies are warranted to prove non-inferiority or superiority.

Whole-body heat exposure induces membrane chang.s in spermatozoa from the cauda epididymidis of laboratory mice

This study was carried out to determine if exposure to hot environmental temperatures had a direct, detrimental effect on sperm quality. For this the effect of whole-body heat exposure on epididymal spermatozoa of laboratory mice was investig.ted. C57BL/6 mice （n = 7） were housed in a microclimate chamber at 37℃-38℃ for 8 h per day for three consecutive days, while control mice （n = 7） were kept at 23℃-24℃. Cauda epididymal spermatozoa were obtained 16 h after the last heat treatment. The results showed that sperm numbers were similar in the two g.oups （P = 0.23）, but after heat treatment, a sig.ificant reduction in the percentag. of motile sperm was present （P 〈 0.0001）. Membrane chang.s of the spermatozoa were investig.ted by staining.with phycoerythrin （PE）- conjug.ted Annexin V, which detects exteriorization of phosphotidylserine from the inner to the outer leaflet of the sperm plasma membrane, and 7-aminoactinomycin D （7-aad）, which binds to the sperm nucleus when the plasma membrane is damag.d. The percentag. of spermatozoa showing.positive staining.with Annexin V-PE or 7-aad or both, was sig.ificantly hig.er （P 〈 0.05） in heat-exposed mice compared with controls. These results show that whole-body heat exposure to 37℃-38℃ induces membrane chang.s in the epididymal spermatozoa of mice, which may lead to apoptosis.
