Aim: Th.s study was designed to investigate th. effect of busulfan treatment on th. proliferation of ch.cken primordialgerm cells (PGCs) in vivo, focusing on th. preferential settlement of PGCs onto th. germinal ridges of ch.cken em-bryos. Meth.ds: Busulfan (250 ng/egg) was injected into th. egg wh.te of fresh.y oviposited fertilized eggs, wh.ch.ere th.n incubated. Embryonic development and viability were examined, and exogenous PGCs collected from embry-onic blood vessels were injected into th. germinal crescent region of recipient embryos. Th. number of PGCs residedonto germinal ridges of th. righ. and left sides were compared. Results: Busulfan h.d a sligh. h.rmful effect on th.embryo viability and th. PGCs proliferation. Th. number of PGCs resided onto th. left side of germinal ridges wassligh.ly h.gh.r as compared with.th. righ. side. Conclusion: Busulfan suppressed th. viability of embryos and th. pro-liferation of endogenous PGCs in th. recipient embryos. h.wever, th. number of exogenous PGCs proliferated wash.gh.r in embryos treated with.busulfan th.n th.se with.ut busulfan. Data also suggest th. possibility of a preferentialresidence of PGCs toward th. left side of th. germinal crescent region as compared with.th. figh., wh.ch.may be due toa more advanced functional development of th. left gonad th.n th. righ.. Anisotropic materials, like carbon nanotubes(CNTs), are th. perfect substitutes to overcome th. limitations of conventional metamaterials; h.wever, th. successful fabrication of CNT forest metamaterial structures is still very ch.llenging. In th.s study, a new meth.d utilizing a focused ion beam(FIB) with.additional secondary etch.ng is presented, wh.ch.can obtain uniform and fine patterning of CNT forest nanostructures for metamaterials and ranging in sizes from h.ndreds of nanometers to several micrometers. Th. influence of th. FIB processing parameters on th. morph.logy of th. catalyst surface and th. growth.of th. CNT forest was investigated, including th. removal of redeposited material,decreasing th. average surface rough.ess(from 0.45 to 0.15 nm), and a decrease in th. th.ckness of th. Fe *** results sh.wed th.t th. combination of FIB patterning and secondary etch.ng enabled th. growth.of h.gh.y aligned, h.gh.ensity CNT forest metamaterials. Th. improvement in th. quality of single-walled CNTs(SWNTs), defined by th. very h.gh.G/D peak ratio intensity of 10.47, demonstrated successful fine patterning of CNT forest for th. first time. With.a FIB patterning depth.of 10 nm and a secondary etch.ng of 0.5 nm, a minimum size of 150 nm of CNT forest metamaterials was ach.eved. Th. development of th. FIB secondary etch.ng meth.d enabled for th. first time, th. fabrication of SWNT forest metamaterials for th. optical and infrared regime, for future applications, e.g., in superlenses, antennas,or th.rmal metamaterials.

Th. cure rates of h.licobacter pylori (h. pylori) eradication th.rapy using a proton pump inh.bitor (PPI) and antimicrobial agents such.as amoxicillin, clarith.omycin, and metronidazole are mainly influenced by bacterial susceptibility to antimicrobial agents and th. magnitude of th. inh.bition of acid secretion. Annual cure rates h.ve gradually decreased because of th. increased prevalence of h. pylori strains resistant to antimicrobial agents, especially to clarith.omycin. Alternative regimens h.ve th.refore been developed incorporating different antimicrobial agents. Furth.r, standard PPI th.rapy (twice-daily dosing) often fails to induce a long-term increase in intragastric ph.> 4.0. Increasing th. eradication rate requires more frequent and h.gh.r doses of PPIs. Th.rapeutic efficacy related to acid secretion is influenced by genetic factors such.as variants of th. genes encoding drug-metabolizing enzymes (e.g., cytoch.ome P450 2C19, CYP2C19), drug transporters (e.g., multidrug resistance protein-1; ABCB1), and inflammatory cytokines (e.g., interleukin-1β). For example, quadruple daily administration of PPI th.rapy potently inh.bits acid secretion with.n 24 h. irrespective of CYP2C19 genotype. Th.refore, tailored h. pylori eradication regimens th.t address acid secretion and employ optimal antimicrobial agents based on results of antimicrobial agent-susceptibility testing may prove effective in attaining h.gh.r eradication rates.

Pro-inflammatory cytokines are produced in th. gastric mucosa by inflammatory cells activated by ch.onic h.licobacter pylori (h. pylori) infection. Polymorph.sms of th.se cytokine genes are associated with.individual differences in gastric mucosal cytokine mRNA level, wh.ch.result in differences in gastric mucosal inflammation, acid inh.bition and gastroduodenal disease risk in response to h. pylori infection. Alth.ugh.polymorph.sms of interleukin (IL)-1B, IL-1RN and TNF-A h.ve been reported to relate well with.gastric cancer and peptic ulcer risk, th.se of IL-2, IL-4, IL-6 and IL-8 genes are unclear. In combined analyses using data from previous studies, we found th.t th. risk of gastric non-cardia cancer development was significantly associated with.IL-4-168 C allele (OR: 0.81, 95% CI: 0.69-1.00) and IL-4-590 T allele carrier status (0.61, 0.53-0.73), and IL-6-174 G/G genotype (2Pro-inflammatory cytokines are produced in th. gastric mucosa by inflammatory cells activated by ch.onic h.licobacter pylori (h. pylori) infection. Large grain niobium h.s th. potential of simplifying th. production sequence and consequently reducing th. cost of th. superconducting RF cavities for ILC. To investigate th. feasibility of fabrication and th. possibility to ach.eve h.gh.gradient by large grain cavities, two 1.3 Gh. cavities were made of Ch.na large grain niobium and a series of vertical tests were carried out following several different surfaces treatment procedures. Two cavities h.ve both.reach.d th. h.gh.gradient of more th.n 43 MV/m repeatedly and th. maximum accelerating field of 47.9 MV/m h.s been ach.eved by Ch.na large grain niobium. Th.s paper introduces th. features of th. fabrication and surface treatments on th. large grain cavities and presents th. preliminary results of th. research.

Th. previous research.s sh.w th.t th. optimization of th. restoration sch.dule by using genetic algorith. (GA) is powerful. h.wever, th.se are not considering th. uncertain environment after earth.uake disasters. Th. circumstances of th. damage at devastated areas are very ch.ngeable due to th. aftersh.ck, fire disaster and bad weath.r. In addition, th. restoring works may delay by unexpected accidents. Th.refore, it is necessary to obtain th. restoration sch.dule wh.ch.h.s robustness, because th. actual restoring works could not progress smooth.y under th. uncertain environment. GA considering uncertainty (GACU) can treat various uncertainties involved, but it is difficult to obtain th. robust sch.dule. In th.s study, an attempt is made to develop a decision support system of th. optimal restoration sch.duling by using th. improved GACU.

Th. aim of th. present study was to investigate th. effect of dietary supplementation with.sugar cane extract(SCE) on meat quality and oxidative stability of Longissimus dorsi muscle in finish.ng *** barrows(Duroc × Landrace × Jiaxing Black), with.an average initial body weigh. of 62.1 ± 5.0 kg,were randomly allotted to 1 of 3 diets with.6 replicates per treatment for 42 days. Th. diets comprised a normal diet and th. normal diets supplemented with.5 and 25 g/kg SCE. Th. results sh.wed th.t SCE supplementation did not affect final body weigh. of finish.ng pigs. Dietary SCE supplementation significantly increased(P h.(24 h.,and tended to reduce(P h.ar force, drip loss, myofiber cross sectional area and lactate deh.drogenase activity at 5 and 25 g/kg, respectively. Meanwh.le, dietary SCE treatments significantly decreased(P h.de content and total superoxide dismutase activity in Longissimus dorsi muscle, and tended to reduce(P h.de content in serum. Altogeth.r, th.se data indicate th.t SCE is an effective feed additive to improve pork meat quality, and th. underlying mech.nism may be partly due to th. improved oxidative stability induced by dietary SCE supplementation.
