Phase imbalance is a significant and widespread problem in low voltage(LV,415V)*** paper develops a novel incentive scheme that encourages flexible customers to engage in phase *** the technical side,this incentive scheme is based on a centralized control algorithm utilizing the inherent fexibility of customers'AC/DC converters to achieve phase balancing at the substation side of LV *** the incentive side,first,this paper calculates the benefits from phase *** then defines a rebalancing contribution index that quantifies the flexible customer's contribution to addressing the predominant imbalance-induced consequence,e.g,capacity wastes,and energy *** to the contribution indices and the benefits,the incentive scheme rewards flexible customers correspondingly and guides them to prioritize the predominant consequence of phase *** studies demonstrate that:1)the remunerations paid to the flexible customers primarily depends on their contributions to addressing the predominant imbalance-induced consequences for the network in question;2)the incentive scheme does not discriminate against small/medium-sized flexible customers who are dedicated to phase balancing,thus promoting inclusiveness.

With the development of smart meters,a realtime pricing(RTP)demand response is becoming possible for households in distribution *** power flow can be bidirectional in distribution networks which become smarter with distributed generators(DGs).It is expensive to import electricity from the generation far from load centers because of the cost of power loss and network use,so that it is more economical to use electricity generated by local distributed ***,in order to curtail operating costs of distribution networks,this paper proposes a model of economic optimization conducted by distribution network *** electricity purchasing costs for distribution network operators are minimized by optimizing electric power from transmission systems and local distributed ***,based on price elasticity,the formulations of load demand considering RTP are proposed with economic optimization of distribution *** economic optimization problems are resolved by an interior point *** case study shows that peak load demand can be reduced about 3.5%because the household RTP and electricity purchasing costs of distribution network operators can save 28.86£every hour.

This paper proposes a novel transmission use of system(TUoS)charging method,which is able to 1)acknowledge the trade-offs between short-run congestion cost and long-run investment cost when justifying economic network investment,2)identify the impacts of different generation technologies on congestion cost and network investment,and 3)translate these impacts into economically efficient TUoS tariffs that differentiate generation *** incremental capacity change from a generator will impact the congestion costs at each branch,which is then translated into the impacts on investment time *** difference in the present values with and without the incremental change for a branch is its long-run incremental cost(LRIC).The final TUoS tariff for this generator is the sum of all LRIC triggered by its capacity *** proposed method is demonstrated on a modified IEEE 14-bus system to show its effectiveness over the traditional *** show that it can provide cost-reflective TUoS tariffs for different generation technologies at the same sites by examining their respective impacts on congestion and *** thus can incentivize appropriate generation expansion to reduce congestion costs and ultimately network investment cost.

Experimental Study and Failure Criterion Analysis of Rubber Fibre Reinforced Concrete under Biaxial Compression-Compression

In order to examine the biaxial compression-compression properties of rubber fibre reinforced concrete(RFRC),an experimental study on RFRC under different lateral compressive stresses was carried out by considering different rubber replacement rates and polypropylene fibre *** failure modes and mechanical property parameters of different RFRC working conditions were obtained from the experiment to explore the effects of rubber replacement rate and polypropylene fibre content on the biaxial compression-compression properties of *** following conclusions were *** the influence of lateral compressive stress,the biaxial compression-compression failure mode gradually developed from a columnar pattern to a flaky pattern,suggesting that the incorporation of rubber and polypropylene fibres into the concrete resulted in a significant change in the development of *** different rubber replacement rates and polypropylene fibre contents,the vertical compressive stress exhibited the same developing trend under the influence of lateral compressive ***,the lateral compressive stress imposed the minimum effect on the vertical compressive stress when the rubber replacement rate and polypropylene fibre content were 20%and 0.4%,respectively,and imposed the maximum effect when the rubber replacement rate and polypropylene fibre content were 20%and 0%,*** the increase of rubber replacement rate,the vertical peak stress was significantly reduced,which implies that an appropriate amount of polypropylene fibres can increase the vertical peak stress to a certain ***,the biaxial compression-compression mechanism of RFRC was analysed from the microscopic level by using scanning electron microscope(SEM).Meanwhile,based on Kupfer’s biaxial compression-compression failure criterion and the octahedral stress space,a biaxial compression-compression failure criterion for RFRC was proposed,which was proven to have good applicability.T

The European Union (EU) has the most advanced, mature, and liberal energy markets that gave rise to the most dramatic drop in wholesale energy prices, whose fallen, however, has not been translated into a reduction in retail energy prices. Instead, energy prices in Europe rose above inflation year-in-year-out, and are considerably higher compared with major economic partners. This paper highlights the key limitations in the EU market designs and network access toward renewable integration, and the wide range of reforms that the EU is currently undertaken across the Member States to achieve two goals: to make the market fit for renewable, and to set a practical example of how a competitive economy can be built on a sustainable and affordable energy system. This paper concludes with key recommendations to developing nations, particularly in addressing heavy renewable curtailment.

Efficient query processing framework for big data warehouse： an almost join-free approach

An indirect adaptive fuzzy control scheme is developed for a class of nonlinear systems with input constraint and unknown control direction. In this scheme, the fuzzy systems are used to proximate unknown nonlinear functions, a modified control design framework is presented for preventing the presence of input constraint from destroying the learning capabilities of the fuzzy systems, and the dynamic robustness term is used to compensate the approximation errors. The proposed design scheme guarantees that all the signals in the resulting closed-loop system are bounded, and the tracking error converges to the small neighborhood of the origin. Simulation results indicate the effectiveness of this scheme.

The rapidly increasing scale of data warehouses is challenging today＇s data analytical technologies. A con- ventional data analytical platform processes data warehouse queries using a star schema -- it normalizes the data into a fact table and a number of dimension tables, and during query processing it selectively joins the tables according to users＇ demands. This model is space economical. However, it faces two problems when applied to big data. First, join is an expensive operation, which prohibits a parallel database or a MapReduce-based system from achieving efficiency and scalability simultaneously. Second, join operations have to be executed repeatedly, while numerous join results can actually be reused by different queries. In this paper, we propose a new query processing frame- work for data warehouses. It pushes the join operations par- tially to the pre-processing phase and partially to the post- processing phase, so that data warehouse queries can be transformed into massive parallelized filter-aggregation oper- ations on the fact table. In contrast to the conventional query processing models, our approach is efficient, scalable and sta- ble despite of the large number of tables involved in the join. It is especially suitable for a large-scale parallel data ware- house. Our empirical evaluation on Hadoop shows that our framework exhibits linear scalability and outperforms some existing approaches by an order of magnitude.
