Aim: The fracture resistance of the post materials used nowadays significantly impacts the fracture type of the post material. The current study aimed to examine the impact of the fracture resistance of PEEK posts, whose use as a post material has not yet become widespread, on the fracture pattern that will occur. Materials and Methods: Sixty-six extracted upper central incisor human teeth were used in the study. Six groups of posts were produced from metal, fiber, and PEEK materials (n = 11). Afterward, the fracture resistance test was applied to the samples. Samples were classified according to fracture type as repairable or irreparable. The ANOVA and test were used in statistical analysis. Post-hoc tests were carried out using Tukey’s and Tamhane’s T2 tests. On the other hand, Pearson’s chi-square test and the Fisher-Freeman-Halton test were conducted for comparisons between categorical variables. The statistical significance level was accepted as p Results: According to the fracture resistance test results, the groups where metal personal posts were used displayed higher fracture resistance in comparison with all other groups. According to the results of the optical microscope examination, the incidence of repairable fractures was significantly higher in the PEEK post group with ferrule preparation (p 0.05). Conclusion: In the absence of the ferrule effect, fractures are catastrophic, regardless of the material used. The use of PEEK as a post material contributes to keeping fractures at a repairable level.

Statement of Problem: Polyether ether ketone material is considered as an important thermoplastic material due to its properties. To obtain a high value stress and tougher hybrid PEEK during different dental applications. Purpose: In this study, it was aimed to improve some mechanical and physical properties of dental (polyether ether ketone) PEEK. Different mechanical properties will be measured at different time intervals after incubation in the Ringer solution. Materials and Methods: A total of 80 samples were produced (n) = 20 used for each test. 2 groups of different PEEK materials were used;extrusion PEEK and compression PEEK (PPE, PPC). All PEEK specimens will be tested after dry storage and then retested after incubation in Ringer’s solution for 1 day, 1 week and 3 weeks at 37®C. Four different mechanical tests were performed for each PEEK sample;Compression, Bending, tensile, and hardness tests will be applied. ANOVA and post-hoc tests were used for statistical analysis. Results: The results of mechanical strength tests including compression, tensile, bending and hardness tests on PEEK (PPE, PPC) showed higher strength values. Incubation with Ringer’s solution at different time intervals affected only the one-week and three-week incubation time values for the entire PEEK sample type. Pure PEEK compression groups (PPC) show higher mechanical stress degrees than other pure PEEK extrusion groups (PPE) while the Stress and strain values showed no significant difference between the two pure PEEK groups (P-value > 0.05). Mechanical tests showed different results between different PEEK samples at different time storage intervals. Conclusion: The measuring parameters (pressure stress, bending stress, tensile stress and hardness value) varied across the study groups (PPE, PPC) and across the four storage conditions/times (dry condition and one day, one week and three weeks in Ringer solution) within the same group.

Purpose: The aim of this investigation was to evaluate and compare the dimensional accuracy of hydrophilic polysiloxane, vinyl polysiloxane (VPS), and polyether (PE) impression materials under dry, moist and wet conditions. Methods: An acrylic master model including 6 implants was formed, and 108 impressions were made up of this acrylic model at total. In this study, the materials of hydrophilic polysiloxane impression material, 1 hydrophilic vinyl polysiloxane impression material and 1 polyether impression material were tested. Twelve impression of each material were created under dry, moist and wet respectively. Two reference distances were evaluated on each study model by using a graphics-editing program whereas for comparison of mean dimensional changes one-way analysis of variance and Student t-test were used. Results: One-way analysis of variance revealed significant differences between impression materials and conditions (P P Conclusions: All impression materials showed a statistically significant difference under dry, moist and wet conditions.

Evaluation of Premature Contacts Using the T-Scan Ⅲ

Objective: The aim of study is to evaluate premature contacts and occlusal forces for each tooth in complete dentures before occlusal adjustment. Material and methods: The study population was comprised of 30 subjects (aged 50 - 75). The measurements were performed using the T-Scan. The occlusion was analyzed before and after frames which from the T-scan “Force Movies” are Centric Relation bite recordings. Several practices closures were made until a repeatable pattern of contacts was seen on the video monitor and sensor was calibrated. Each subject was asked to bite on the sensor in a position of maximum intercuspation thus obtaining the location of each tooth contact. Premature contacts and percentage distribution of forces per tooth were obtained before and after occlusal adjustment. Results: The worst occlusal balance was recorded in a patient (F/74) by occlusal force values at right 5.9% and left 94.1% before occlusal adjustment. After occlusal adjustment, all patients’ percentage of occlusal balance values was adjusted at average of 48.8%, left 51.1%. The percentage distribution of forces per tooth results showed that premature contacts had been observed at posterior teeth either right or left side of occlusion. Conclusions: Occlusal adjustment is requested for all complete dentures to prevent patients from muscular pain and/or temporomandibular disorders for further terms.

Color Changes of Polyamid and Polymetyhl Methacrylate Denture Base Materials

Aim: Both conventional and flexible resins may show color alteration due to intrinsic and extrinsic factors. The aim of this study was to evaluate the color changes of the polyamid and heat polymerized acrylic denture base materials in storage of different staining solutions. Methods: Two denture base materials were used in this study. The speciemens were stored in two staining solutions (tea, coffee), distilled water and denture cleaner. For each group, 14 speciemens (25 × 15 × 2.5 mm) were prepared. The color of speciemens was measured using a colorimeter according to the CIE L*a*b* color scale. The color changes of speciemens were evaluated before and after 7 and 30 days. All data recorded were taken by the same investigator to minimize inconstancy of technique. The data were analyzed statistically by repeated measures analysis of variance and Tukey honestly significant difference multiple comparison tests. It was found no statistically significant difference between solutions (P > 0.05). Results: Polyamid denture base resin displayed the greatest colour change when compared to polymetyhl methacrylate denture base resin (P < 0.001). Polyamid material indicated the highest value (ΔE: 7.28) in coffee solution for 7 days. Significance: The colour stability of polymetyhl methacrylate denture base resin is greater than polyamid denture base resin.

Background: The color stability of dental restorative materials is important for long-term clinical success. Objectives: The objective of this study was to examine the effect of thermocycling on the color and translucency stability of monolithic zirconia. Materials and methods: A total of 80 disc-shaped specimens (1 cm diameter) were produced from monolithic zirconia material, Katana High Translucent (Kuraray Noritake Dental, Kurashiki, Japan). The specimens were prepared in four different thicknesses: 0.5 mm, 1 mm, 1.5 mm and 2 mm. Before thermocycling, color measurements of the specimens were made by a spectrophotometer (Spectro Shade TM MICRO;MHT Optic Research AG, Milan, Italy). After the thermal aging procedure, the color measurement was repeated. Data obtained from the study were analyzed with descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, one-way ANOVA and Tukey’s tests. Results: After thermocycling, the L*, a*, b* values decreased at all thicknesses. The maximum change in the L*, a* and b* values was observed in 0.5-mm-thick specimens, while the least change was observed in 2-mm-thick specimens. The amount of color change in the specimens after thermocycling was found to be the highest in 0.5-mm-thick specimens (ΔE = 0.91 ± 0.02), and the lowest in 2-mm-thick specimens (ΔE = 0.85 ± 0.01). While a statistically significant color change (ΔE) was observed in 0.5-mm-thick specimens (p 0.05) in 1-mm, 1.5-mm, and 2-mm-thick specimens. After thermocycling, the translucency parameter (TP) values decreased at all thicknesses. The highest change in the TP values was observed in 0.5-mm-thickspecimens (1.09 ± 0.03), while the lowest change was observed in 2-mm-thickspecimens (0.40 ± 0.04). While a statistically significant change in the TP values was observed in 0.5-mm-thick specimens (p < 0.05), there was a statistically insignificant change in the TP values of 1-mm, 1.5-mm and 2-mm-thick specime

Flexural Strength of Temporary Restorative Materials Stored in Different Solutions

Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of different solutions on the flexural strength of one methacrylate-based resin and three bis-acryl resin provisional materials using an in vitro model test system. Methods: The specimens (25 × 2 × 2 mm) were prepared from interim materials and stored for 14 days at 37°C in different solutions (coffee, burn, cola) and distilled water (control group). A standard three-point bending test was conducted on the specimens with an Instron universal testing machine at crosshead speed of 0.5 mm/min. Data were analyzed using the one-way analysis of variance and Tukey HSD multiple comprasion tests. Results: The methacry-late-based resin (Takilon) showed the least fracture strength (61.6 - 85.6 MPa). One of the bis-acryl resins (Protemp 4-3M ESPE) showed the highest fracture strength (112 - 128 MPa). Conclusions: All bis-acryl resin composite materials exhibited high fracture strength over the traditional methyl methacrylate resin throughout the 14 day time interval of investigation. The different solutions have not statistically significant effect on the flexure strength values on four temporary materials.

Mountainous regions have disadvantages in economic development because of harsh physical and climatic ***,winter tourism activities are one of the key components for supporting economic development in the *** a ski resort area supports direct and indirect employment in a region,and it stops immigration from mountainous regions to other *** research aimed to assess the potential ski areas using a multi criteria evaluation technique in the Van region which is located in the eastern part of Tü*** this context,snow cover duration,sun effect,slope,slope length,elevation,population density,distance from main roads and lake visibility were used as input factors in the decision making *** factor was standardized using a fuzzy technique based on existing well-known ski centers in Tü*** weight of inputs was defined by applying a survey to the professional *** most important factors were detected as transportation opportunities and snow covers whereas,the least important factors were elevation and population ***,lake visibility was very important to make a difference from other existing facilities in the ***,it was included as constraints and lake visible areas were extracted at the final stage of the *** ski areas were mapped in three levels as professional,intermediate and beginner *** of the suitable areas was selected as a sample projection and for the 3D simulation of the ski investment *** costs and benefits were *** was found that a ski tourism area investment can be amortized in 3 years in the region.

Cytomegalovirus(CMV)infection is one of the primary causes of morbidity and mortality following liver transplantation(LT).Based on current worldwide guidelines,the most effective strategies for avoiding post-transplant CMV infection are antiviral prophylaxis and pre-emptive ***-IgG serology is the established technique for pretransplant screening of both donors and *** clinical presentation of CMV infection and disease exhibits variability,prompting clinicians to consistently consider this possibility,partic-ularly within the first year post-transplantation or subsequent to heightened *** annual symposia to discuss CMV prevention and how treatment outcomes can be improved,evidence on the incorporation of immune functional tests into clinical practice is presented,and the results of studies with new antiviral treatments are *** there are ongoing studies on the use of letermovir and maribavir in solid organ transplantation,a consensus reflected in the guidelines has not been *** the most appro-priate strategy at the individual level appears to be the key to enhancing *** prevention strategies reduce the risk of CMV disease,the disease can still occur in up to 50%of high-risk patients.A balance between the risk of infection and disease development and the use of immunosuppressants must be considered when talking about the proper management of CMV in solid organ transplant *** objective of this study was to establish a compre-hensive framework for the management of CMV in patients who have had LT.
