Mucus hypersecretion is a distinguishing feature of chronic inflammation diseases, such as asthma,chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis and cystic fibrosis Mucus hypersecretion leads to impairment of mucociliary clearance, abnormal bacterial plantation, mucus plug in the airway, and dysfunction of gas exchange.5 To block this vicious cycle, chronic inflammation in the airway must be controlled and mucus hypersecretion must be reduced.

Nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computers serve as the physical platform for nonadiabatic holonomic quantum *** quantum computation has entered the noisy intermediate-scale era, building accurate intermediate-scale nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computers is clearly necessary. Given that measurements are the sole means of extracting information, they play an indispensable role in nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computers. Accordingly, developing methods to reduce measurement errors in nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computers is of great importance. However, while much attention has been given to the research on nonadiabatic holonomic gates, the research on reducing measurement errors in nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computers is severely lacking. In this study, we propose a measurement error reduction method tailored for intermediate-scale nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computers. The reason we say this is because our method can not only reduce the measurement errors in the computer but also be useful in mitigating errors originating from nonadiabatic holonomic gates. Given these features,our method significantly advances the construction of accurate intermediate-scale nonadiabatic holonomic quantum computers.

Superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant siloxane-modified MgAl-LDHs coatings on magnesium alloy prepared under mild conditions

We have developed a superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant LDH-W/PFDTMS composite coating on the surface of Mg *** composite comprised a tungstate-intercalated(LDH-W)underlayer that was grown at low temperature(relative to hydrothermal reaction conditions)under atmospheric pressure and an outer polysiloxane layer created from a solution containing perfluorodecyltrimethoxysilane(PFDTMS)using a simple immersion *** successful intercalation of tungstate into the LDH phase and the following formation of the polysiloxane layer were confirmed through X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The corrosion resistance of the LDH-W film,both before and after the PFDTMS modification,was evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),Tafel curves,and immersion *** results showed that Mg coated with LDH-W/PFDTMS exhibited significantly enhanced corrosion protection compared to the unmodified LDHW film,with no apparent signs of corrosion after exposure to 3.5wt%NaCl solution for 15 ***,the LDH-W/PFDTMS coating demonstrated superior superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties against water and several common beverages,as confirmed by static contact angle and water-repellency *** results offer valuable insights into preparing superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant LDH-based composite coatings on Mg alloy surfaces under relatively mild reaction conditions.

The conventional perception of astrocytes as mere supportive cells within the brain has recently been called into question by empirical evidence, which has revealed their active involvement in regulating brain function and encoding behaviors associated with ***, astrocytes in the basolateral amygdala have been found to play a role in the modulation of anxiety-like behaviors triggered by chronic stress. Nevertheless, the precise molecular mechanisms by which basolateral amygdala astrocytes regulate chronic stress–induced anxiety-like behaviors remain to be fully elucidated. In this study, we found that in a mouse model of anxiety triggered by unpredictable chronic mild stress, the expression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 was upregulated in the basolateral amygdala. Interestingly, our findings indicate that the targeted knockdown of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 specifically within the basolateral amygdala astrocytes was able to rescue the anxiety-like behavior in mice subjected to stress. furthermore, we found that the overexpression of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 in the basolateral amygdala, whether achieved through intracranial administration of excitatory amino acid transporter 2agonists or through injection of excitatory amino acid transporter 2-overexpressing viruses with GfaABC1D promoters, evoked anxiety-like behavior in mice. Our single-nucleus RNA sequencing analysis further confirmed that chronic stress induced an upregulation of excitatory amino acid transporter 2 specifically in astrocytes in the basolateral amygdala. Spinal cord injury necessitates effective rehabilitation strategies, with exercise therapies showing promise in promoting recovery. This study investigated the impact of rehabilitation exercise on functional recovery and morphological changes following thoracic contusive spinal cord injury. After a 7-day recovery period after spinal cord injury, mice were assigned to either a trained group(10 weeks of voluntary running wheel or forced treadmill exercise) or an untrained group. Bi-weekly assessments revealed that the exercise-trained group, particularly the voluntary wheel exercise subgroup, displayed significantly improved locomotor recovery, more plasticity of dopaminergic and serotonin modulation compared with the untrained group. Additionally, exercise interventions led to gait pattern restoration and enhanced transcranial magnetic motor-evoked potentials. Despite consistent injury areas across groups, exercise training promoted terminal innervation of descending axons. In summary, voluntary wheel exercise shows promise for enhancing outcomes after thoracic contusive spinal cord injury, emphasizing the role of exercise modality in promoting recovery and morphological changes in spinal cord injuries. Our findings will influence future strategies for rehabilitation exercises, restoring functional movement after spinal cord injury.

A novel flame retardant （DAPSiO）, containing silicon and nitrogen, was synthesized by using dichlorodiphenylsilane, γchloropropyl methyl dimethoxysilane and 1,2-ethanediamine. DAPSiO was used together with potassium-4-（phenylsulfonyl）benzenesulfonate （KSS） to prepare a flame-retardant system for polycarbonate （PC）. The structure of DAPSiO was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FTIR）, and 1H-NMR tests. Flammability and thermal behaviors of PC/KSS/DAPSiO systems were estimated by limited oxygen index （LOI）, vertical burning test （UL-94） and thermogravimetric analysis （TGA） tests. The results showed that the flame retardancy and thermal stability of PC/KSS system were improved with the addition of DAPSiO. When 1 wt% DAPSiO and 0.5 wt% KSS were incorporated, the LOI value of PC was found to be 44, and class V-0 of UL-94 test was passed. The scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and FTIR indicated that PC/KSS/DAPSiO system held a more cohesive and denser char structure when compared with pure PC and PC/KSS system.

The mechanical response of polyethylene nano-fibers with the same chain length but different chain numbers are studied by using steered molecular dynamics *** shrinking or stretching forces acted on the chain ends are investigated according to the chain-end distance and temperature under isothermal or continuous warming-cooling conditions,*** inflection point is found in the ForceDistance response when temperature is below 500 *** inflection point is related to the balance between entropy force and inter-monomer interaction and it reflects the strong effect of crystallization on the mechanical response of the *** force at inflection point is also affected by the buckling effect due to increased stiffness when crystallization *** two stages found in the Force-Temperature response and the difference between the shrinking and stretching forces indicate the hysteresis of crystallization and *** forces at different shrinking and stretching rates reveal the entropy contribution upon the mechanical response,indicated by the Ramachandran plot of *** chain-conformation entropy is majorly contributed by dihedrals and is quantified by the information entropy of dihedrals,which has a highly similarity to the mechanical Force-Temperature *** enlarged forces in multiple chains over a single chain are attributed to the enhanced dihedral-conformation *** study provides a new insight to the dynamically mechanical response of polymer nano-fibers according to the effect of crystallization and entropy contribution.
