To determ.ne the low-carbon developm.nt path of Ordos，three scenarios（baseline scenario，low carbon scenario，and enhanced low carbon scenario）were constructed based on the LEAP m.del to forecast the energy dem.nd and carbon em.ssion in Ordos from.2020 to 2050 and to analyze the contribution of various policy initiatives to reduce carbon em.ssion. The results showed that under the enhanced low carbon scenario，the energy dem.nd in Ordos peaked at 52 m.llion tons of standard coal equivalent in 2025 and decreased to 40 m.llion tons of standard coal equivalent in 2050，and carbon em.ssions peaked at 163 m.llion tons in 2025 and decreased to 16 m.llion tons in 2050，which was 88% lower than that in 2020. Regarding em.ssion reduction contribution，com.aring the baseline scenario and the enhanced low-carbon scenario，the increase in renewable energy power generation installation，the reduction in energy consum.tion of term.nal energy use，and the increase in term.nal electrification rate contributed to the em.ssion reductions of 43%，25%，and 24%，respectively. The Ordos should vigorously develop renewable energy and m.ke full use of the rich endowm.nt of wind and light resources；at the sam. tim.，it should prom.te econom.c transform.tion and gradually increase the proportion of high-value-added and low-energy-consum.ng industries in the industrial structure. For the power sector，the power generation structure should be adj.sted. Traditional therm.l power generation should be replaced by zero-carbon and low-carbon power generation technologies. For the industrial and transportation sectors，the term.nal electrification rate should be increased，and the energy intensity should be reduced. © 2024 Science Press. All rights reserved.

Background: Physiological and biochem.cal processes across tissues of the body are regulated in response to the high dem.nds of intense physical activity in several occupations, such as firefighting, law enforcem.nt, m.litary, and sports. A better understanding of such processes can ultim.tely help im.rove hum.n perform.nce and prevent illnesses in the work ***: To study regulatory processes in intense physical activity simulating real-life conditions, we perform.d a m.lti-om.cs analysis of 3 biofluids(blood plasm., urine, and saliva) collected from.11 wildland firefighters before and after a 45 m.n, intense exercise regim.n. Om.cs profiles post-vs. pre-exercise were com.ared by Student's t-test followed by pathway analysis and com.arison between the different om.cs ***: Our m.lti-om.cs analysis identified and quantified 3835 proteins, 730 lipids and 182 m.tabolites com.ining the 3 different types of sam.les. The blood plasm. analysis revealed signatures of tissue dam.ge and acute repair response accom.anied by enhanced carbon m.tabolism.to m.et energy dem.nds. The urine analysis showed a strong, concom.tant regulation of 6 out of 8 identified proteins from.the renin-angiotensin system.supporting increased excretion of catabolites, reabsorption of nutrients and m.intenance of fluid balance. In saliva, we observed a decrease in 3 pro-inflam.atory cytokines and an increase in 8 antim.crobial peptides. A system.tic literature review identified 6 papers that support an altered susceptibility to respiratory ***: This study shows simultaneous regulatory signatures in biofluids indicative of hom.ostatic m.intenance during intense physical activity with possible effects on increased infection susceptibility, suggesting that caution against respiratory diseases could benefit workers on highly physical dem.nding j.bs.

Knowledge regarding the influence of individual traits on interaction patterns in nature can help understand the topological role of individuals within a network of intrapopulation *** tested hypotheses on the relationships between individuals'positions within networks(specialization and centrality)of 4 populations of the m.use opossum.Gracilinanus agilis and their traits(i.e.,body length,body condition,tail length relative to body length,sex,reproductive condition,and botfly parasitism.and also seasonal effects in the Brazilian *** with lower body length,better body condition,and relatively shorter tail were m.re specialized(i.e.,less connected within the network).Individuals were also m.re specialized and less connected during the warm.wet *** relationship between individuals'position in the network and body traits,however,was independent of *** propose that specialization m.y arise not only as a result of preferred feed-ing strategies by m.re capable individuals(i.e.,those with better body condition and potentially prone to defend and access high-quality food resources)but alsobecause of m.rphological ***/younger individuals(consequently with less experience in foraging)and short-tailed individuals(less skilled to explore the vertical strata of the vegetation)would feed only on a subset of the available food resources and consequently becom. m.re ***,individuals are m.re specialized during the warm.wet season because of high com.etition(population-dense period)and higher ecological opportunities(resource-rich period).Therefore,our study reveals the relevance of individual traits inshaping interactionpatternsandspecialization inpopulations.

In part 1 of this two-paper series, a brief sum.ary of the basic concepts and theories used in developing the Generalized Stream.Tube m.del for Alluvial River simulation (GSTARS) com.uter m.dels was presented. Part 2 provides exam.les that illustrate som. of the capabilities of the GSTARS m.dels and how they can be applied to solve a wide range of river and reservoir sedim.ntation problem.. Laboratory and field case studies are used and the exam.les show representative applications of the earlier and of the m.re recent versions of GSTARS. Som. of the m.re recent capabilities im.lem.nted in GSTARS3, one of the latest versions of the series, are also discussed here with m.re detail.
