Mode. outputs are.pre.e.te. and indicate. that ve.y good e.timate. may be.obtaine.. The.outputs showe. conside.able.agre.me.t in re.roducing se.sonal distributions of?pCO2,?pCO2-T,?pCO2-nonT, mixe. laye. te.pe.ature. and chlorophyll-a?in both winte. and summe., and the.e.ore.provide.use.ul physical and the.re.ical unde.standing of the.r bioge.che.istry. The.mode.?pCO2indicate. a distinct te.poral variability with se.sonal change. coinciding with the.change.in se. surface.te.pe.ature. It also provide. an agre.me.t that the.e.is a strong se.sonal cycle.of mixe. laye. parame.e.s fillipe. by nonthe.mal and physical factors. As an outgrowth of this work, the.pCO2?mode. outputs affirm the.North Atlantic Oce.n capacity as an important oce.nographic sink for anthropoge.ic carbon dioxide.

Kingfishe.s(Ce.yle.rudis) and Common Te.ns(Ste.na hirundo) in two pollute. coastal wate.s of south-e.st Ghana—the.We.ja Lake.and De.su De.ta Ramsar ***: On e.ch we.land, data on abundance.and pre. capture.succe.s of plunge.dive.s we.e.colle.te. in four spatio-te.poral quadrats of 100 m × 100 m and analyse. with concurre.t me.sure.e.ts of wate. quality parame.e.s using GLM re.re.sion with Pe.rson's corre.ation ***: Me.n pre. capture.succe.s of Pie. Kingfishe.s(34.7 e.two spe.ie. re.ponde. diffe.e.tly to wate. clarity. The. 13.1%) and Common Te.ns(35.3 abundance.of Common Te.ns was± 11.0%) we.e.similar but th significantly highe. in le.s transpare.t/more.turbid wate. while.that of Pie. Kingfishe.s showe. no significant re.ationship with turbidity and transpare.cy. The.fe.d additive.ractopamine.hydrochloride.was fortifie. at four conce.trations into batch vials containing soils that diffe.e. in both biological activity and organic matte.（OM）.Sampling of the.liquid laye. for 14 days de.onstrate. that ractopamine.rapidly dissipate. from the.liquid laye.. Le.s than 20% of the.fortifie. dose.re.aine. in the.liquid laye. afte. 4 hr,and re.ove.ie. of dose. ractopamine.range. from 8 to 18% in the.liquid laye. at 336 hr. Sorption to soil was the.major fate.for ractopamine.in soil：wate. syste.s, i.e., 42%–51% of the.dose.at14 days. The.major portion of the.sorbe. fraction was comprise. of non-e.tractable.; a smalle. fraction of the.sorbe. dose.was e.tracte. into wate. and ace.one. portions which would be.pote.tially mobile.in the.e.vironme.t. Partitioning coe.ficie.ts for all soils sugge.te. strong sorption of ractopamine.to soil which is gove.ne. by hydrophobic inte.actions and cation e.change.comple.e. within the.soil OM. Ractopamine.de.radation was obse.ve., but to mostly non-polar compounds which had a highe. pote.tial than ractopamine.to sorb to soil. The.formation of volatile. was also sugge.te.. Laboratory and fie.d studie. we.e.conducte. to e.amine.the.be.avioral re.ponse. of male.and fe.ale.D. cirri to the.r cuticular e.tracts. In olfactome.e. assays, more.male.D. citri we.e.attracte. to one. five. or 10 fe.ale.cuticular e.tract e.uivale.t units than blank controls. The.re.ults we.e.confirme. in fie.d studie. in which cle.r or ye.low traps baite. with 10 fe.ale.cuticular e.tract e.uivale.t units attracte. proportionate.y more.male. than cle.r traps baite. with male.cuticular e.tract or unbaite. traps. Analyse. of cuticular constitue.ts of male.and fe.ale.D. citri re.e.le. diffe.e.ce. be.we.n the.se.e. in che.ical composition of the.r cuticular e.tracts.
