Recent.y, Yadaiah and Haragopal published in t.e American journal of Operat.ons Research a new approach t. solving t.e unbalanced assignment.problem. t.ey also provide a numerical example which t.ey solve wit. t.eir approach and get.a cost.of 1550 which t.ey claim is opt.mum. t.is approach might.be of int.rest.however, t.eir approach does not.guarant.e t.e opt.mal solut.on. In t.is short.paper, we will show t.at.solving t.is same example from t.e Yadaiah and Haragopal paper by using a simple t.xt.ook formulat.on t. balance t.e problem and t.en solve it.wit. t.e classic Hungarian met.od of Kuhn yields t.e t.ue opt.mal solut.on wit. a cost.of 1520.

PURPOSE: t. evaluat. select.ve laser t.abeculoplast. (SLt.-as a replacement.for medical t.erapy in cont.olled open-angle glaucoma. DESIGN: Prospect.ve, non-random-ized, int.rvent.onal clinical t.ial. MEt.ODS: SLt.was performed inferiorly in 66 eyes of 66 pat.ent. wit. medically cont.olled primary open-angle glaucoma (OAG) or exfoliat.on glaucoma, and no hist.ry of glaucoma surgery. t.e primary out.omewas number of medicat.ons at.6 and 12 mont.s while maint.ining a predet.rmined t.rget.int.aocular pressure (IOP). RESULt.: t.e mean of t.e differences in medicat.ons from baseline was 2.0 (95% confidence int.rval=1.8-2.3) at.6 mont.s, and 1.5 (1.27-1.73) at.12 mont.s (P t.e group mean of medicat.ons was 2.8± 1.1 at.baseline, 0.7± 0.9 at.6 mont.s, and 1.5± 0.9 at.12 mont.s (P t.on in medicat.ons was at.ained in 64 of 66 eyes (97% ) at.6 mont.s, and 52 f 60 (87% ) at.12 mont.s. CONCLUSION: SLt.enabled a reduct.on in medicine in cont.olled OAG over 12 mont.s.
