The use of insect meal in aquafeed formulations has recently gained *** knowledge about the inclusion levels for pikeperch(Sander lucioperca),a promising candidate for intensive aquaculture in Europe remains,however,*** the present study,4 isoproteic(45%dry matter)and isoenergetic(21 MJ/kg)diets were formulated,including a control diet(H0)containing 30%fishmeal(FM)on an as-fed basis and the other 3 diets in which FM protein was replaced by defatted black soldier fly(Hemetia illucens)meal(HIM)at 25%,50%,and 100%(diet abbreviation H9,H18 and H36,corresponding to an inclusion level of 9%,18%and 36%,respectively).The feeding trial was performed in triplicate groups of 50 juvenile pikeperch(mean weight,68.7 g)fed with experimental diets for 84 d during which the growth performance,nutrient digestibility,fillet quality and economic and environmental sustainability of rearing pikeperch were *** findings indicated that pikeperch in H0,H9,and H18 groups displayed better results regarding growth performance indices,except for survival rate where no significant difference among groups was recorded(P?0.642).A significantly lower organ-somatic index,including hepatosomatic,viscerosomatic and perivisceral fat index,was found in fish in H18 groups than other groups(Pgestibility of the nutrients and resulted in an almost linear reduction in the apparent digestibility coefficient of dry matter and *** the fillet quality,dietary HIM negatively affected the protein and ash contents of the fish fillets,while the crude fat remained *** HIM did not significantly modify total saturated,monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids in the fillets of fed pikeperch(P>0.05)but did reduce total n-3 fatty acids(P?0.001)and increased total n-6(Pg inclusion levels of HIM reduced the environmental impacts associated with fish in-to-fish out ratio but entailed heavy burdens on e

A review of top-down cracking in asphalt pavements:Causes, models, experimental tools and future challenges

In the last decades,a new type of distress has been observed more and more frequently on asphalt *** distress,ascribable to fatigue failure,has been named top-down cracking(TDC) because it consists in longitudinal cracks that initiate on the pavement surface and then propagate downwards.A series of surveys recently carried out on Italian motorways highlighted that TDC can affect up to 20%-30% of the slow traffic ***,in order to achieve a better understanding of such distress,this paper reviews causes,models and experimental tools and highlights future challenges for *** literature review indicates that TDC can evolve on the pavement surface in three stages(i.e.,single crack,sister cracks,alligator cracking) and,below a certain depth,the cracks can form angles of 20°-40° with respect to the vertical *** though multiple factors contribute to TDC development,thick pavements are more likely to fail due to TDC induced by tire-pavement contact stresses,especially in the presence of open-graded friction courses(OgFCs).Moreover,in literature there are several TDC models based on mechanics(e.g.,fracture mechanics or continuum damage mechanics) which allow a rigorous study of crack initiation and *** challenges include the identification of a reliable and feasible test method,among those proposed in literature,to study the TDC performance of asphalt mixtures and the implementation of TDC in pavement management systems(PMSs) through the definition of criteria for TDC recognition in the field as well as for the rehabilitation depth ***,more research is needed for open-graded asphalt mixtures,which present critical drawbacks in terms of TDC.

We have read with interest the publication that describes the available data related to the use of neuromodulation strategies for the treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD).Despite treatment advances,however,a substantial proportion of PTSD patients receiving psychological and/or pharmacological treatment do not reach an adequate clinical *** their paper,the authors draw attention to the current understanding of the use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS)as a potential treatment for *** of the previous studies indeed applied both inhibitory(1 Hz)and excitatory(>1 Hz,up to 20 Hz)rTMS to the right and/or left dorsolateral prefrontal *** larger therapeutic effects observed when high-frequency stimulation was applied,the question of which side and frequency of stimulation is the most successful is still *** authors also reported on the after-effect of rTMS related to neuroplasticity and identified the intermittent theta burst stimulation as a technique of particular interest because of it showed the most effective improvement on PTSD ***,although numerous studies have highlighted the possible beneficial use of rTMS protocols for PTSD,the exact mechanism of action remains *** their conclusions,the authors stated that rTMS has been demonstrated to be effective for the treatment of PTSD ***,we believe that further research with homogeneous samples,standardized protocols,and objective outcome measures is needed to identify specific therapeutic targets and to better define significant changes when active and sham stimulation procedures are compared.

Classical rock mass classification systems are not applicable to carbonate rocks,especially when these are affected by karst *** applications to such settings could therefore result in outcomes not representative of the real stress-strain *** this study,we propose a new classification of carbonate rock masses for engineering purposes,by adapting the rock engineering system(RES) method by Hudson for fractured and karstified rock masses,in order to highlight the problems of implementation of geomechanical models to carbonate *** new approach allows a less rigid classification for carbonate rock masses,taking into account the local properties of the outcrops,the site conditions and the type of engineering work as well.

A group g is called a PC-group if the factor group g/Cg（〈X）^g） is polycyclic for each element x of g. It is proved here that if g is a group of infinite rank whose proper subgroups of infinite rank have the property PC, then g itself is a PC-group, provided that g has an abelian non-trivial homomorphic image. Moreover, under the same assumption, a complete classification of minimal non-PC groups is obtained.
