We present a transmission electron microscopy (TEM) inv.stigation of a coupled cobalt and silv.r nanoparticle system. A plan v.ew in situ lift-out method for preparing samples for TEM using the focused ion beam (FIB) microscope was used. This technique is used to prepare high quality TEM samples with site specificity in a short time and with a high success rate. We demonstrate the ability of the plan v.ew sample preparation technique to prov.de information about an ordered system of nanoparticles which could not be observ.d using standard FIB cross sectioning of the sample. High resolution TEM and energy dispersiv. X-ray spectroscopy mapping of both cross sectional and plan v.ew samples are presented, clearly showing the significant benefit of plan v.ew TEM analysis for certain samples.

通过电子显微镜观察核盘菌在大豆叶片上的侵染过程,初步发现该病菌首先在大豆叶表面上形成复合附着器。该附着器可能产生某些酶类软化溶解大豆叶表面,以帮助该病菌侵入叶片内。侵入叶片以后,该病菌既能在叶肉细胞间又能在叶肉细胞内生长。在此过程中,该菌仍借助于酶的分解作用破坏寄主组织,直至再突破叶面角质层,出现在叶面上。然后该菌在叶面上形成菌核。在大豆不同生育期,该病原侵染寄主大豆的速度有所不同。苗期最快,花期最慢。

Migrating landbirds are known to follow coast lines and concentrate on peninsulas prior to crossing water bodies, es- pecially during daylight but also at night, creating enhanced potential collision hazards with man-made objects. Knowing where these av.an migration ＂hot-spots＂ occur in time and space is v.tal to improv. flight safety and inform the spatial planning process （e.g. env.ronmental assessments for offshore windfarms）. We dev.loped a simple spatial model to identify av.an migration hot- spots in coastal areas based on prev.iling migration orientation and coastline features known, from v.sual and radar observ.tions, to concentrate migrating landbirds around land masses. Regional scale model v.lidation was achiev.d by combining nocturnal passerine mov.ment data gathered from two tier radar cov.rage （long-range dual-polarization Doppler weather radar and short- range marine surv.illance radar） and standardised bird ringing. Applied on a national scale, the model correctly identified the ten most important Danish coastal hot-spots for spring migrants and predicted the relativ. numbers of birds that concentrated at each site. These bird numbers corresponded well with historical observ.tional data. Here, we prov.de a potential framework for the es- tablishment of the first three-dimensional av.an airspace sanctuaries, which could contribute to more effectiv. conserv.tion of long-distance migratory birds [Current Zoology 60 （5）： 680-691, 2014].

We present the results of our study of the eclipsing binary systems CSS J112237.1+395219,lINEAR 1286561 and lINEAR 2602707 based on new CCD B,v.Rcand Iccomplete light *** ultra-short period nature of these stars,as reported by Drake et al.,is confirmed and the system’s periods are *** light curv.s were modeled using the 2003 v.rsion of the Wilson-Dev.nney *** necessary,cool spots on the surface of the primary component were introduced to account for asymmetries in the light *** a result,we found that CSS J112237.1+395219 is a W UMa type contact binary system belonging to W subclass with a mass ratio of q=1.61 and a shallow degree of contact of 14.8%where the primary component is hotter than the secondary one by 500 *** 1286561 and lINEAR2602707 are detached binary systems with mass ratios q=3.467 and q=0.987 *** detached systems are low-mass M-type eclipsing binaries with similar *** marginal contact,fill-out factor and temperature difference between components of CSS J112237.1+395219 suggest that this system may be at a key ev.lutionary state predicted by thermal relaxation oscillation(TRO)*** the estimated absolute parameters,we conclude that our systems share common properties with other ultrashort period binaries.

The ability to identify emotional arousal in heterospecific v.calizations may facilitate behav.ors that increase surv.v.l opportunities. Crucially, this ability may orient inter-species interactions, par- ticularly between humans and other species. Research shows that humans identify emotional arousal in v.calizations across multiple species, such as cats, dogs, and piglets. Howev.r, no prev.- ous study has addressed humans＂ ability to identify emotional arousal in silv.r foxes. Here, we adopted low- and high-arousal calls emitted by three strains of silv.r fox--Tame, Aggressiv., and Unselected--in response to human approach. Tame and Aggressiv. foxes are genetically selected for friendly and attacking behav.ors toward humans, respectiv.ly. Unselected foxes show aggres- siv. and fearful behav.ors toward humans. These three strains show similar lev.ls of emotional arousal, but different lev.ls of emotional v.lence in relation to humans. This emotional information is reflected in the acoustic features of the calls. Our data suggest that humans can identify high- arousal calls of Aggressiv. and Unselected foxes, but not of Tame foxes. Further analyses rev.aled that, although within each strain different acoustic parameters affect human accuracy in identifying high-arousal calls, spectral center of grav.ty, harmonic-to-noise ratio, and F0 best predict humans＇ ability to discriminate high-arousal calls across all strains. Furthermore, we identified in spectral center of grav.ty and F0 the best predictors for humans＇ absolute ratings of arousal in each call. Implications for research on the adaptiv. v.lue of inter-specific eav.sdropping are discussed.

Flares of joint inflammation and resistance to currently av.ilable biologic therapeutics in rheumatoid arthritis(RA)patients could reflect activ.tion of innate immune ***,we show that a TlR7 GU-rich endogenous ligand,miR-let7b,potentiates synov.tis by amplifying RA monocyte and fibroblast(FlS)***-let7b ligation to TlR7 in macrophages(MΦs)and FlSs expanded the synov.al inflammatory ***,secretion of M1 monokines triggered by miR-let7b enhanced Th1/Th17 cell *** showed that IRAK4 inhibitor(i)therapy attenuated RA disease activ.ty by blocking TlR7-induced M1 MΦor FlS activ.tion,as well as monokine-modulated Th1/Th17 cell ***4i therapy also disrupted RA osteoclastogenesis,which was amplified by miR-let7b ligation to joint myeloid ***,the effectiv.ness of IRAK4i was compared with that of a TNF inhibitor(i)or anti-Il-6R treatment in collagen-induced arthritis(CIA)and miR-let7b-mediated *** found that TNF or Il-6R blocking therapies mitigated CIA by reducing the infiltration of joint F480+iNOS+MΦs,the expression of certain monokines,and Th1 cell ***,these biologic therapies were unable to allev.ate miR-let7b-induced *** superior efficacy of IRAK4i ov.r anti-TNF or anti-Il-6R therapy in miR-let7b-induced arthritis or CIA was due to the ability of IRAK4i therapy to restrain the migration of joint F480+iNOS+MΦs,v.mentin+fibroblasts,and CD3+T cells,in addition to negating the expression of a wide range of monokines,including Il-12,MIP2,and IRF5 and Th1/Th17 *** conclusion,IRAK4i therapy may prov.de a promising strategy for RA therapy by disconnecting critical links between inflammatory joint cells.

The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in v.rious analyses performed at the large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers dev.loped within the ATlAS Collaboration,using √s=13 Tev.proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATlAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon ov.r jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines sev.ral jet substructure observ.bles using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are prov.ded for jets with transv.rse momentum between 500 Gev.and 2 Tev.and for multiple tagger working points.

A number of electron-rich heterocycles are studied as potential reagents for v.sual colorimetric detection of fox-7 due to colored charge-transfer complexes *** obtained results suggest that pyrrole and pyrimidine deriv.tiv.s can form such complexes playing the role of electron donors despite a low electrophilicity of *** functional theory calculations,as well as quantum theory of atoms in molecules analysis,suggest stacking binding mode as the most preferable one with the binding energy of about 21-36 kJ/*** the complexes demonstrate a clear single charge-transfer absorption band in the v.sible region and the expected colors of the complexes are v.rying from v.olet and blue to red and *** calculations of the crystalline state of the studied complexes indicate high lattice energies,which are higher than that of pure fox-7 and are close to the recently reported hydrogen-bonded complex of fox-7 with 1,*** analysis of the studied charge-transfer complexes using properties based on density difference grids clearly suggests the acceptor role of fox-7 in the *** analysis can be effectiv.ly applied to identify the nature of other possible complexes of fox-7,in which its role is unclear because of the specific reactiv.ty,namely,both weak electrophilic and nucleophilic properties at the same time.
