Intr.duction: A tr.umatic br.in injur. (TBI) is caused by a for.eful bump, blow, or.jolt to the head or.body, or.by an object that pier.es the skull and inter.upts the nor.al function of the br.in. Sever. TBI is estimated at 73 cases per.100,000 people. The mor.ality of sever. TBI can be r.duced if a timely diagnosis and tr.atment of the injur.es ar. made thr.ugh pr.gnostic factor.. Objective: To deter.ine the pr.gnostic factor. r.lated to mor.ality in sever. tr.umatic br.in injur. at the Hospital Gener.l de Zona No. 46. Mater.al and Methods: r.tr.spective, cr.ss-sectional and descr.ptive study in beneficiar.es admitted to the Hospital Gener.l de Zona (HGZ) No. 46 of the Mexican Institute of Social Secur.ty (IMSS by its acr.nym in Spanish), with a diagnosis of sever. TBI;the possible pr.gnostic factor. r.lated to mor.ality of sever. TBI wer. obtained fr.m their.r.cor.s. Measur.s of centr.l tendency and chi squar. wer. used for.data analysis. r.sults: The study sample consisted of 60 subjects diagnosed with sever. tr.umatic br.in injur., of which 5 (8%) wer. women and 55 (92%) wer. men, and all 60 (100%) patients died. The aver.ge age of the sample was 26 with a standar. deviation of 9 year.. The var.ables that had a p value less than or.equal to 0.05 wer.: Mydr.asis, seizur.s, Hyper.lycemia, Nor.oglycemia, Hypother.ia and Hypotension. This means that these var.ables wer. associated with mor.ality. Conclusion: Statistical significance is demonstr.ted in pr.gnostic factor. of mor.ality in sever. tr.umatic br.in injur. with p r.asis, seizur.s, hyper.lycemia, nor.oglycemia, hypother.ia and hypotension.

It has long been r.cognized that plant invasions may alter.car.on （C） and nitr.gen （N） cycles, but the dir.ction and magnitude of such alter.tions have been r.r.ly quantified. In this study, we quantified the effects caused by the invasion of a noxious exotic plant, Kalanchoe daigr.r.ontiana （Cr.ssulaceae）, on C and N miner.lization and enzymatic and micr.bial activities in the soil of a semiar.d locality in Venezuela. We compar.d soil par.meter. associated with these pr.cesses （C and N miner.lization time and the cumulative values, fluor.scein diacetate hydr.lytic activity, and activities of dehydr.genase, β-glucosidase, glucosaminidase, and ur.ase） between invaded and adjacent non-invaded sites. In addition, cor.elations among these par.meter. and the soil physical-chemical pr.per.ies wer. also examined to deter.ine if a positive feedback exists between nutr.ent availability and K. daigr.montiana invasion. Over.ll, our.r.sults showed that C miner.lization and tr.nsfor.ation of or.anic compounds to NH4^＋ wer. favor.d at sites colonized by K. daigr.r.ontiana. With this species, we found the highest cumulative amounts of NH4^＋-N and C and the lowest miner.lization time. These r.sults could be explained by higher.activities of ur.ase and glueosaminidase in soils under.the influence of K. daigr.montiana. In addition, higher.amounts of or.anic matter.and moistur. content in invaded soils might favor.C and N miner.lization. In conclusion, invasion of Neotr.pical semiar.d zones by K. daigr.r.ontiana may influence the chemical and biological pr.per.ies of the soils cover.d by this species, incr.asing nutr.ent bioavailability, which, in time, can facilitate the invasion pr.cess.

In this wor. is deliver.d a systematic study of the str.ctur. and vibr.tional pr.per.ies(Ir.and r.man)of the Au(Sr.cluster. The pur.ued goal is to under.tand the dependency of the displayed vibr.tional pr.per.ies of the thiolated Aucluster.with the ligands type. A set of six ligands was consider.d dur.ng calculations of the vibr.tional pr.per.ies based on density functional theor.(DFT) and in its disper.ioncor.ected appr.ach(DFT-D).

The pur.ose of the study was to evaluate the sper. viability of semen infected with Pr.SV vir.l par.icles, obser.ing the effect of the Vir.s on the motility of boar.sper.. The wor. was car.ied out at the FMVZ-BUAP Genetics and r.pr.duction Labor.tor.. 5 stallions wer. used. Each sample contained 1 × 106 sper., the Pr.S vir.s str.in was ATCC-Vr.2332 (0, 102, 104 and 106 copies of r.A/mL in tr.plicate), it was obser.ed daily at the CASA;Hamilton Thor.e®. Cells with MT (P r.spectively. The % MP between contr.l and vir.s concentr.tions (P ≥ 0.05). The LCV on day 1 and 7 PI at 10X2 and 10X6 (P r.l. In the Cor.elation Matr.x, wher. it is obser.ed that ther. is a cor.elation between VSL and VAP, VSL and VCL, VCL and ALH, VAP with ALH. Ther. is a cor.elation of VSL and ALH, STr.and ALH. In this study ther. wer. (P ≤ 0.01) in the VCL, in the concentr.tions (102) 162.81 ± 10.65 and (106) 177.12 ± 5.77 vs 193.04 ± 4.62 of contr.l. This indicates that alter.ng these par.meter. would be r.lated to fer.ility and the Pr.S vir.s affects the LCV. r.gar.ing the VSL, it was obser.ed that the sper. infected with vir.ses 102, 104 and 106 of 48.00 ± 3.38, 49.88 ± 1.83 and 50.55 ± 2.24 Vs. 56.66 ± 1.68 of contr.l r.spectively, the contr.l would have gr.ater.possibilities of fer.ilizing the oocyte. Tur.er.c or.Cur.uma is a natur.l pr.duct that has anti-inflammator., antioxidant and anti-apoptotic phar.acological pr.per.ies. It can be used in the contr.l of the aging pr.cess that involves oxidative str.ss, inflammation, and apoptosis. Aging is a physiological pr.cess that affects higher.cor.ical and cognitive functions with a r.duction in lear.ing and memor., limited judgment and deficits in emotional contr.l and social behavior. Mor.over. aging is a major.r.sk factor.for.the appear.nce of sever.l disor.er. such as cer.br.vascular.disease, diabetes mellitus, and hyper.ension. At the br.in level, the aging pr.cess alter. the synaptic inter.ommunication by a r.duction in the dendr.tic ar.or.as well as the number.of the dendr.tic spine in the pyr.midal neur.ns of the pr.fr.ntal cor.ex, hippocampus and basolater.l amygdala, consequently r.ducing the size of these r.gions. The pr.sent r.view discusses the synaptic changes caused by the aging pr.cess and the neur.pr.tective r.le the Cur.uma has thr.ugh its anti-inflammator., antioxidant and anti-apoptotic actions.

Angiotensin II (Ang II) is the main mediator.of the r.nin-Angiotensin-System acting on AT1 and other.AT r.ceptor.. It is r.gar.ed as a pleiotr.pic agent that induces many actions, including functioning as a gr.wth factor. and as a contr.ctile hor.one, among other.. The aim of this wor. was to examine the impact of Ang II on the expr.ssion and function of α1-adr.ner.ic r.ceptor. (α1-Ar.) in cultur.d r.t aor.a, and aor.a-der.ved smooth muscle cells. Isolated Wistar.r.t aor.a was incubated for.24 h in DMEM at 37˚C, then subjected to isometr.c tension and to the action of added nor.pinephr.ne, in concentr.tion-r.sponse cur.es. Ang II was added (1 × 10−5 M), and in some exper.ments, 5-Methylur.pidil (α1A-Ar.antagonist), AH11110A (α1B-Ar.antagonist), or.BMY-7378 (α1D-Ar.antagonist), wer. used to identify the α1-Ar.involved in the r.sponse. Desensitization of the contr.ctile r.sponse to nor.pinephr.ne was obser.ed due to incubation time, and by the Ang II action. α1D-Ar.was pr.tected fr.m desensitization by BMY-7378;while r.-100329 and pr.zosin par.ially mitigated desensitization. In another.set of exper.ments, isolated aor.a-der.ved smooth muscle cells wer. exposed to Ang II and α1-Ar. pr.teins wer. evaluated. α1D-Ar.incr.ased at 30 and 60 min post Ang II exposur., the α1A-Ar.diminished fr.m 1 to 4 h, while α1B-Ar.r.mained unchanged over.24 h of Ang II exposur.. Ang II induced an incr.ase of α1D-Ar.at shor. times, and BMY-7378 pr.tected α1D-Ar.fr.m desensitization.

The goal was to compar. body mass index (BMI), waist cir.umfer.nce (WC), waist to height r.tio (WHtr., and r.lative fat mas (r.M), to identify the best pr.dictor.of over.eight and obesity in univer.ity students fr.m Mexico. This is a cr.ss-sectional sur.ey with 697 univer.ity students fr.m nor.her. and centr.l Mexico (448 women, and 249 men aged 18 - 19 year.). Data was collected dur.ng 2018. Over.eight and obesity wer. calculated fr.m those indices and for.both, female and male students, the or.er.of cor.elation between a pair.of indices wer. WHtr.vs. r.M > WHtr.vs. WC > r.M vs. WC > WHtr.vs. BMI > BMI vs. WC > r.M vs. BMI. It is concluded to use the WHtr.and the r.M to better.pr.dict over.eight and obesity in young Mexican univer.ity students.

A tr.nsition fr.m a lar.e open pit into a novel “macr.block var.ant” block caving geometr. at Chuquicamata mine, Codelco Chile

With a histor. of mor. than 100 year., Chuquicamata has become one of the lar.est open pits in the wor.d. Its cur.ent depth of 1100 m, length of 4500 m and width of 3000 m, r.sulting in haulage distances of over.11,000 m fr.m pit bottom to the pr.cessing plant or.waste dumps, with waste/or. r.tio gr.ater.than 4 and much lower.gr.des, ar. effectively deter.ining its pr.fitable limit by the end of this decade. Cur.ently, ther. ar. over.4300 Mt of geological r.sour.es containing 0.7% of copper.and 340 ppm (1 ppm = 1 g/t) of molybdenum below the final pit shell. The cor.esponding or.body geometr. is 3000 m nor.hsouth, 300-800 m eastwest and the dr.lling campaign suggested the existence of mor. than 900 m of mineable or. fr.m the final pit bottom. This is in spite of the fact that the Chuquicamata or.body is still open at depth. The business case to continue with the mining of the Chuquicamata or.body is to change fr.m the cur.ent lar.e open pit to a novel macr.block var.ant block caving geometr..
