Dear editor,Patients with supraventricular tachycardia(SVT)commonly present to the emergency department(ED).Current guidelines[1,2]do not recommend routine pathology testing and a report on the topic has questioned their role.A systematic review concluded that troponin testing is commonly performed with a high proportion of positive fi ndings,but these results were not associated with major adverse cardiac events.[3]The conclusions of this review were limited by paucity of data and heterogeneity among studies.

A Bayesian approach is proposed for the inference of the geotechnical parameters used in slope *** methodology involves the construction of posterior probability distributions that combine prior information on the parameter values with typical data from laboratory tests and site investigations used in *** posterior distributions are often complex,multidimensional functions whose analysis requires the use of Markov chain Monte Carlo(MCMC)*** procedures are used to draw representative samples of the parameters investigated,providing information on their best estimate values,variability and *** paper describes the methodology to define the posterior distributions of the input parameters for slope design and the use of these results for evaluation of the reliability of a slope with the first order reliability method(FORM).The reliability analysis corresponds to a forward stability analysis of the slope where the factor of safety(FS)is calculated with a surrogate model from the more likely values of the input *** Bayesian model is also used to update the estimation of the input parameters based on the back analysis of slope *** this case,the condition FS?1 is treated as a data point that is compared with the model prediction of *** analysis requires a sufficient number of observations of failure to outbalance the effect of the initial input *** parameters are updated according to their uncertainty,which is determined by the amount of data supporting *** methodology is illustrated with an example of a rock slope characterised with a Hoek-Brown rock mass *** example is used to highlight the advantages of using Bayesian methods for the slope reliability analysis and to show the effects of data support on the results of the updating process from back analysis of failure.

A valuable number of works has been published about Hurwitz and Schur polynomials in order to known better their properties. For example it is known that the sets of Hurwitz and Schur polynomials are open and no convex sets. Besides, the set of monic Schur polynomials is contractible. Now we study this set using ideas from differential topology, and we prove that the space of Schur complex polynomials with positive leading coefficient, and the space of Hurwitz complex polynomials which leading coefficient having positive real part, have structure of trivial vector bundle, and each space of （Schur complex and real, Hurwitz complex） polynomials has a differential structure diffeomorphic to some known spaces.

It has long been recognized that the rotation of single particles plays a very important role in simulations of granular flow using the discrete element method （DEM）. Many researchers have also pointed out that the effect of rolling resistance at the contact points should be taken into account in DEM simulations. However, even for the simplest case involving two-dimensional circular particles, there is no agreement on the best way to define roiling and sliding, and different definitions and calculations of rolling and sliding have been proposed. It has even been suggested that a unique rolling and sliding definition is not possible. In this paper we assess results from previous studies on rolling and sliding in discrete element models and find that some researchers have overlooked the effect of particles of different sizes. After considering the particle radius in the derivation of rolling velocity, all results reach the same outcome： a unique solution. We also present a clear and simple derivation and validate our result using cases of rolling. Such a decomposition of relative motion is objective, or independent of the reference frame in which the relative motion is measured.

Rolling and sliding play fundamental roles in the deformation of granular materials. In simulations of granular flow using the discrete element method （DEM）, the effect of rolling resistance at contacts should be taken into account. However, even for the simplest case involving spherical particles, there is no agreement on what is the best way to define rolling and sliding; various versions of definitions and calculations of rolling and sliding were proposed. Some even suggest that a unique definition for rolling and sliding is not possible. We re-check previous studies on rolling and sliding in DEMs and find that some researchers made a conceptual mistake when dealing with pure sliding between particles of different sizes. After considering the particle radius in the derivation of rolling velocity, the results yield a unique solution. Starting with clear and unique definitions of pure rolling and sliding, we present the detailed derivation and validate our results by checking two special cases of rolling. The decomposition of the relative motion is objective; that is, independent of the reference frame in which the relative motion is measured.

This article proposes a graph-theoretic methodology for query approximation in Geographic Information Systems, enabling the relaxation of three kinds of query constraints： topological, semantic and structural. An approximate query is associated with a value corresponding to the degree of similarity with the original query. Such a value is computed for topological constraints on the basis of the topological distance between configurations, for semantic constraints using the information content approach, and for structural constraints revisiting the maximum weighted matching problem in bipartite graphs. Finally, the high correlation of our proposal with human judgment is demonstrated by an experiment.

The development of replacement heifers is at the core of cow-calf beef production systems. In 2020, the USDA,National Agricultural Statistics Service reported 5.771 million beef heifers, 500 pounds and over, are under development for cow replacement. A compilation of data from several studies indicate that between 85% and 95% of these heifers will become pregnant in their first breeding season. Several thousands of heifers being raised for replacement may not deliver a calf on their first breeding season and result in economic losses to cow-calf producers. Many management procedures have been developed to maximize the reproductive potential of beef heifers. Such approaches include, but are not limited to the following: nutritional management for controlled weight gain, identification of reproductive maturity by physiological and morphological indicators, and the implementation of an estrous synchronization *** implementation of management strategies has important positive impact(s) on the reproductive efficiency of *** are limitations, however, because some heifers deemed ready to enter their first breeding season do not become pregnant. In parallel, genetic selection for fertility-related traits in beef heifers have not promoted major genetic gains on this particular area, most likely due to low heritability of female fertility traits in cattle. Technologies such as antral follicle counting, DNA genotyping and RNA profiling are being investigated as a means to aid in the identification of heifers of low fertility potential. To date, many polymorphisms have been associated with heifer fertility, but no DNA markers have been identified across herds. Antral follicle count is an indication of the ovarian reserve and is an indicator of the reproductive health of a heifer. Grouping nodes gives better performance to the whole network by diminishing the average network delay and avoiding unnecessary message forwarding and additional overhead. Many routing protocols for ad-hoc and sensor networks have been designed but none of them are based on groups. In this paper, we will start defining group-based topologies, and then we will show how some wireless ad hoc sensor networks （WAHSN） routing protocols perform when the nodes are arranged in groups. In our proposal connections between groups are established as a function of the proximity of the nodes and the neighbor＇s available capacity （based on the node＇s energy）. We describe the architecture proposal, the messages that are needed for the proper operation and its mathematical description. We have also simulated how much time is needed to propagate information between groups. Finally, we will show a comparison with other architectures.
