The recovery of lithium from hard rock minerals has received increased attention given the high demand for this element. There- fore, this study optimized an innovative process, which does not require a high-temperature calcination step, for lithium extraction from le- pidolite. Mechanical activation and acid digestion were suggested as crucial process parameters, and experimental design and re- sponse-surface methodology were applied to model and optimize the proposed lithium extraction process. The promoting effect of amorphi- zation and the formation of lithium sulfate hydrate on lithium extraction yield were assessed. Several factor combinations led to extraction yields that exceeded 90%, indicating that the proposed process is an effective approach for lithium recovery.

The number of published studies related to the optimization of lithium extraction from low-grade ores has increased as the demand for lithium has grown. However, no study related to the kinetics of the concentration stage of lithium-containing minerals by froth flotation has yet been reported. To establish a factorial design of batch flotation experiments, we conducted a set of kinetic tests to determine the most selective alternative collector, define a range of pulp p H values, and estimate a near-optimum flotation time. Both collectors（Aeromine 3000 C and Armeen 12D） provided the required flotation selectivity, although this selectivity was lost in the case of pulp p H values outside the range between 2 and 4. Cumulative mineral recovery curves were used to adjust a classical kinetic model that was modified with a non-negative parameter representing a delay time. The computation of the near-optimum flotation time as the maximizer of a separation efficiency（SE） function must be performed with caution. We instead propose to define the near-optimum flotation time as the time interval required to achieve 95%–99% of the maximum value of the SE function.

While wing form is known to differ between males and females of the genus Culicoides,detailed studies of sexual dimorphism are lacking.In this study,we analyze sex-specific differences in the wing form of 5 species of the subgenus Avaritia,using geometric morphometrics and comparative phylogenetic methods.our results confirm the existence of marked sexual dimorphism in the wing form of the studied species and reveal for the first time that while there is a shared general pattern of sexual shape dimorphism within the subgenus,sexual size dimorphism,and particular features of sexual shape dimorphism differ among species.Sexual shape dimorphism was found to be poorly associated to size and the evolutionary history of the species.The tight association of sexual shape dimorphism with aspect ratio suggests that the shape of the wing is optimized for the type of flight of each sex,that is,dispersal flight in females versus aerobatic flight in males.Moreover,the fact that interspecific shape differences are greater and more strongly associated to aspect ratio in males than in females might be indicating that in males the selective pressures affecting flight performance characteristics are more heterogeneous and/or stronger than in females among the studied species.

Introduction: Stapler application for pharyngeal closure after total laryngectomy allows rapid watertight closure. We intend to report the experience of the Portuguese oncology Institute of Lisbon, Francisco Gentil (IPoLFG). Material and Methods: Retrospective study of patients submitted to total laryngectomy using linear stapler device treated in IPoLFG from 2005 to 2010. Results: 108 patients were studied. The majority of patients were male, aged from 60 to 69 years old, and had smoking and alcohol habits. The average length of hospital stay was 13.1 days. Post-operative complications occurred as follows: wound infection in 6.5%, cervical hematoma in 4.6% and pharyngocutaneous fistula in 11.1% of cases. Conclusions: The mechanical suture of the pharynx in total laryngectomy is a simple and quick method. It does not increase the incidence of post-operative complications. It seems to be a very safe method, as long as its limits regarding the location and extent of tumour are respected.

The goal of this work is to perform the risks analysis of the mission NANoSATC-BR1 and NANoSATC-BR2 and then compare them linearly. The NANoSATC-BR1 and NANoSATC-BR2 are the first and the second satellite, respectively. They belonged to the project NANoSATC-BR—-development of CubeSats, which is performed in the facilities built by the partnership between the National Institute of Space Research and the Technological Center from Federal University of Santa Maria. The project focuses on the development of a scientific instrumentation and, simultaneously, the design development, construction, qualification and launch of a national scientific nanosatellite, in a cube shape with 100 mm of edge and near to 1.33 kg of mass, per unit (U). The risk analysis was held to identify and minimize the project"s risks of failure, due to its complexity, assuring the mission success, preventing extra pays and rework. The software, CubeSat Mission Design Software Tool for Risk Estimating, which uses statistical regression methods, was used. So, we were capable to measure the project"s most critical steps assuring its success. The NANoSATC-BR1 was launched in June 19 and it is orbiting the Earth in a nominal regime and the NANoSATC-BR2 has been scheduled to be launched in 2016.

【背景】微量营养素缺乏症在患有艾滋病毒的成年人中很常见,特别是在低收入环境中,那里的饮食可能缺乏必需的维生素和矿物质。一些微量营养素在维持免疫系统中起着关键作用,因此常规补充可能是有益的。这是一个发表在2010年Cochrane系统综述的更新版。【目的】评估微量营养素补充剂在降低艾滋病毒阳性成人(不包括孕妇)的死亡率和与艾滋病毒有关的发病率方面是否有效和安全。【方法与证据收集】我们收集了18项新的随机对照研究(从2010年1月到2016年11月)、CENTRAL(Cochrane图书馆)、Embase、Pub Med数据库、WHo国际临床试验注册平台(ICTRP)和Clinical Trials.gov中的评议记录。我们纳入了比较含有单一、两种或多种微量营养素的补充剂与安慰剂、不治疗或其他补充剂的随机对照试验。主要结果包括所有原因的死亡率、发病率和疾病进展。按照GRADE证据质量分级和推荐强度系统评估证据的确定性。【结果】我们纳入了33个试验,10325名参与者,其中17个试验是新试验。有10个试验比较了每日补充多种微量营养素和安慰剂,剂量为饮食参考摄入量的20倍,还有一个试验比较了每日标准剂量和高剂量复合维生素的效果。19个试验比较了补充单一或双重微量营养素(如维生素A和D、锌和硒)与安慰剂,还有3个试验比较了不同剂量或组合的微量营养素。我们对抗逆转录病毒治疗(ART)的成人(3个试验,1448名参与者)、接受抗逆转录病毒疗法(ART)的成人(1个试验,400名参与者)和未接受抗逆转录病毒治疗的成人(3个试验,1429名参与者)进行了分析。常规补充多种微量营养素可能对成人HIV感染者的死亡率几乎没有影响(RR 0.91,95%CI:0.72-1.15;7项试验,2897名参与者,证据等级低)。连续两年的常规补充可能对CD4+细胞计数的平均值(26.40个细胞/mm3,95%CI:22.91-75.70;6个试验,1581名参与者,证据等级低)或平均病毒载量(-0.1 log10病毒拷贝数,95%CI:0.26-0.06;4个试验,840名受试者,证据等级中等)。另一项针对未成年抗逆转录病毒治疗的成人进行的另一项试验确实报告了在博茨瓦纳高剂量补充两年后达到CD4+细胞计数<250个细胞/mm3的时间增加(HR0.48,95%CI:0.26-0.88;1项试验,439名参与者)。然而,试验作者仅在接受多种微量营养素和硒(而不是单独补充)的试验组中报告了这种效果,这与使用类似微量营养素和硒组合的其他试验的结果不一致。在另一项试验中,比较了高剂量复合微量营养素补充剂与标准剂量的ART患者,高剂量补充剂的外周神经病变低于标准剂量(发病率比(IRR)0.81,95%CI:0.7-0.94;1项试验,3418名受试者),但由于不良反应增加,试验提前停止高剂量组的事件(丙氨酸转氨酶(ALT)升高)。单一或双重微量营养素补充剂的试验都没有足够的证据来证明对死亡率或发病率结果的影响。【结论】对现有试验的分析还没有显示出常规的多种微量营养素补充剂对艾滋病毒感染者具有一致的重要临床益处。更大的试验可能会发现一些小而重要的影响。这些发现不应被解释为拒绝向艾滋病毒携带者补充微量营养素的理由,因为艾滋病毒感染者发现了特殊的缺陷,或者其饮食不足以满足每日维生素和矿物质的建议摄入量。

This paper presents a detailed analysis of the complex flow beneath two impinging jets aligned with a low-velocity crossflow which is relevant for the future F-35 VSToL configuration, and provides a quantitative picture of the main features of interest for impingement type of flows. The experiments were carried out for a Reynolds number based on the jet exit conditions of Rej = 4.3 × 104, an impingement height of 20.1 jet diameters and for a velocity ratio between the jet exit and the crossflow VR = Vj/Uo of 22.5. The rear jet is located at S = 6 D downstream of the first jet. The results show a large penetration of the first (upstream) jet that is deflected by the crossflow and impinges on the ground, giving rise to a ground vortex due to the collision of the radial wall and the crossflow that wraps around the impinging point like a scarf. The rear jet (located downstream) it is not so affected by the crossflow in terms of deflection, but due to the downstream wall jet that flows radially from the impinging point of the first jet it does not reach the ground. The results indicate a new flow pattern not yet reported so far, that for a VSToL aircraft operating in ground vicinity with front wind or small forward movement may result in enhanced under pressures in the aft part of the aircraft causing a suction down force and a change of the pitching moment towards the ground.
