Deep optics preconditioner for modulation-free pyramid wavefront sensing

The pyramid wavefront sensor(PWfS)can provide the sensitivity needed for demanding adaptive optics applications,such as imaging exoplanets using the future extremely large telescopes of over 30 m of diameter(D).However,its exquisite sensitivity has a limited linear range of operation,or dynamic range,although it can be extended through the use of beam modulation—despite sacrificing sensitivity and requiring additional optical *** by artificial intelligence techniques,this work proposes to train an optical layer—comprising a passive diffractive element placed at a conjugated fourier plane of the pyramid prism—to boost the linear response of the pyramid sensor without the need for cumbersome *** develop an end-2-end simulation to train the diffractive element,which acts as an optical preconditioner to the traditional least-square modal phase estimation *** results with a large range of turbulence conditions show a noticeable improvement in the aberration estimation performance equivalent to over 3λ∕D of modulation when using the optically preconditioned deep PWfS(DPWfS).Experimental results validate the advantages of using the designed optical layer,where the DPWfS can pair the performance of a traditional PWfS with 2λ∕D of *** and adding an optical preconditioner to the PWfS is just the tip of the iceberg,since the proposed deep optics methodology can be used for the design of a completely new generation of wavefront sensors that can better fit the demands of sophisticated adaptive optics applications such as ground-to-space and underwater optical communications and imaging through scattering media.

At present,it is impossible to deny the existence of artificial intelligence in various areas of social life,understood as the simulation of expert human intelligence from computer processes that involve learning,reasoning,and self-correction,its benefits to the medical field,in particular,are innumerable,but their incorporation into health systems has been gradual for many *** to the above,this research analyzed artificial intelligence based on resilient leadership in the health sector,for which qualitative research was carried out with a documentary-bibliographic design with printed and electronic documentary sources with theoretical contributions fromÁvila,Mayer,and Quesada[1],Morgan[2],Villa[3],and finol[4],among *** is highlighted that resilient leadership has become a strategic factor in all organizations,since times of uncertainty and changes lead institutions to properly manage the incorporation of technologies specifically AI,achieving in this way that the centers and professionals in the field of health assume the needs of the contexts and the innovations of the *** is concluded that resilient leadership will allow artificial intelligence in the health sector to generate higher levels of learning and adaptability to the transformations that are necessary,whose resistance would make its application difficult and in the long run it will leave behind professionals who refuse to assume the contributions of these innovative techniques in medical practice.

Seamount chains and hotspot tracks:Superficially similar,deeply different

Activation of non-basal ＜c + a> slip in multicomponent Mg alloys

Activating non-basal slip is a key method to improve room temperature ductility and formability of Mg alloys. However, the detailed criterion for activation of the slip in multicomponent Mg alloys, which can be utilized in commercial Mg alloys, requires further understanding. The present authors investigated the mechanism and criterion using a molecular statics simulation on dislocation behaviors in multicomponent Mg alloys. We found that if multicomponent Mg alloys have an equivalent dislocation binding intensity to associated binary Mg alloys that are optimized to minimize the critical resolved shear stress anisotropy and thus activate the slip,then the critical resolved shear stress anisotropy between slip systems of the multicomponent Mg alloys can also be minimized, resulting in activation of the slip. The activation is maximized in multicomponent Mg alloys when alloying a large amount of weak dislocation binding elements. It was confirmed through experiments that the multicomponent Mg alloys satisfying the above criterion show higher room-temperature tensile elongation and formability than other alloys.

Electrocardiographic markers of cardiac resynchronization therapy response:delayed time to intrinsicoid deflection onset in lateral leads

Cardiac resynchronization therapy(CRT)has emerged as an important intervention for patients with heart failure(Hf)with reduced ejection fraction and delayed ventricular *** these patients,CRT has demonstrated to improve quality of life,promote reverse left ventricular(LV)remodeling,reduce Hf hospitalizations,and extend ***,despite advancements in our understanding of CRT,a significant number of patients do not respond to this *** invasive and non-invasive parameters have been assessed to predict response to CRT,but the electrocardiogram(ECG)has remained as the prevailing screening method albeit with ***,an accurate,simple,and reproducible ECG marker or set of markers would dramatically overcome the current *** describe the clinical utility of an old ECG parameter that can estimate ventricular activation delay:the onset to intrinsicoid deflection(ID).Based on the concept of direct measurement of ventricular activation time(intrinsic deflection onset),time to ID onset measures on the surface ECG the time that the electrical activation time takes to reach the area subtended by the corresponding surface ECG *** on this principle,the time to ID on the lateral leads can estimate the delay activation to the lateral LV wall and can be used as a predictor for CRT response,particularly in patients with non-specific intraventricular conduction delay or in patients with left bundle branch block and QRSf this review is to present the current evidence and potential use of this ECG parameter to estimate LV activation and predict CRT response.

Estimation of rainfall thresholds for shallow landslides in the Sierra Madre Oriental, northeastern Mexico

Landslides induced by prolonged rainfalls are frequent mass movements along the northeastern portion of the Sierra Madre Oriental in Mexico,causing significant damage to *** this work,we have studied the connection between rainfall and landslides in the Santa Rosa Canyon,a catchment located in the northeastern Mexico.A landslide database triggered by major storms and hurricanes that have hit the region over the past 30 years was analyzed.A total of 92 rainfall events in the Santa Rosa Canyon were studied to determine the amount of precipitation needed to trigger shallow *** each event the duration(D,in hours)and the cumulated rainfall event(E,in mm)were determined by using historical rainfall data from weather stations located near the study *** have proposed an ED threshold for rainfall-induced landslides with durations 0.5f a daily rainfall accumulation is required to trigger shallow landslides in the study *** estimation is consistent with other calculations made for areas close to the Santa Rosa ***,we validated the predictive capability of the threshold with a different set of rainfall data that did not result in landslides performing a straightforward receiver operating characteristic analysis.A good approach was obtained,especially for rainfall events with daily *** could be used as input information in the design of a landslide early warning system for the northeastern Mexico,and replicated for other landslide prone areas in the region.
