Effects of ciprofloxacin on testicular tissue and sperm quality in rabbits

Objective:To investigate the hormonal,histopathological toxicity and sperm quality of ciprofloxacin in male genital system in the rabbit ***:Twenty adult New Zealand male rabbits were randomly divided into the treatment and control groups,and respectively received 30 mg/kg/day ciprofloxacin and normal saline intraperitoneally for 14 *** samples and testicular tissues were taken for testosterone by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay method,and measurement of histopathologic and histomorphometric investigations was made on the 14th day of the experiment and 56 days after the last dose of ***,epididymis sperm sample was collected for quality ***:On day 14 of the experiment,histopathologic examination revealed severe degenerative changes in the epithelium of seminiferous tubules and loss of all germ cells in most tubes in the treatment *** the histomorphometric study,significant reductions in the seminiferous tubules diameter,epithelium height,and Johnsen’score were *** day 56 after the last dose of ciprofloxacin,the seminiferous tubules revealed regeneration in the treatment group and no significant difference was observed in the spermatogenesis parameters except epithelial height parameter between the control group and the treatment *** sperm quality parameters were significantly decreased on day 56 after the last dose of *** levels did not significantly change during the follow-ups ***:There is potential reversible testicular toxicity for ciprofloxacin in the rabbit model in according to relative regeneration of spermatogenic epithelium after 56 days of last dose of *** quality will be improved with a delay after complete regeneration of seminiferous tubules.

A Theoretical Analysis of the Acceleration and the Angular Momentum of the Universe

The loss of Baryonic Matter through Black Holes from our spatial 3-D Universe into its 4th dimension as Dark Matter, is used along with the Conservation of Angular Momentum Principle to prove theoretically the accelerated expansion of the 3-D Universe, as has already been confirmed experimentally being awarded the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics. Theoretical calculations can estimate further to indicate the true nature of the acceleration;that the outward acceleration is due to the rotation of the Universe caused by Dark Energy from the Void, that the acceleration is non-linear, initially increasing from zero for the short period of about a Million years at a constant rate, and then leveling off non-linearly over extended time before the outward acceleration begins to decrease in a non-linear fashion until it is matched by the gravitational attraction of the matter content of 4D Space and the virtual matter in 3-D Vacuum Space. m = m(4D) + m(Virtual). The rotation of our 3D Universe will become constant once all 3D matter has entered 4D space. As the 3-D Universe tries to expand further it will be pulled inward by its gravitational attraction and will then keep on oscillating about a final radius rf while it also keeps on oscillating at right angles to the radius rf around final angular velocity ωf, until it becomes part of the 4-D Universe. Introduction:Morphea is an inflammatory skin disease characterized by skin thickening due to increased collagen deposition in the dermis or subcutaneous ***-U1RNP myositis is a newly described entity characterized by myositis,arthritis,interstitial lung disease,and Raynaud *** present a case of a unique combination of deep morphea in a patient with anti-U1RNP *** presentation:A 64-year-old male with 5-year history of proximal muscle weakness,polyarthritis,Raynaud phenomenon,and dyspnea on multiple immunosuppressives presented with localized infiltrated,tight,and hyperpigmented plaques over the posterior thighs and mid-to-lower back developing over the last 2 years and limiting his *** workup revealed a positive ANA,anti-U1RNP antibody,anti-Jo1 antibody,and anti-Ro52 *** workup showed restrictive lung disease,kidney disease,and *** was diagnosed with anti-U1RNP *** biopsy of the back lesion showed deep ***:Association of deep morphea with anti-U1RNP myositis is not described prior in the *** of morphea is challenging since the patient is already on immunosuppressive *** patient failed methotrexate prior and is currently on Mycophenolate mofetil and Deflazacort which are reported as potential treatment for ***,physical therapy plus topical Tacrolimus were suggested as an initial measure to preserve the range of motion of his posterior thighs and *** is a case of progressive deep morphea developing in a patient with a unique autoimmune profile on immunosuppressive ***:Anti-U1RNP myositis is a challenging diagnosis and should be always thought of in patients with positive anti-U1RNP,myositis,interstitial lung disease,arthritis,kidney disease,and Raynaud ***,deep morphea treatment in immunosuppressed patients is challenging and different measures should be considered.

Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider and the Large Hadron Collider for Heavy Ion Fusion

Heavy Ion Fusion makes use of the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Lab and the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva, Switzerland for Inertial Confinement Fusion. Two Storage Rings, which may or may not initially be needed, added to each of the Colliders increases the intensity of the Heavy Ion Beams making it comparable to the Total Energy delivered to the DT target by the National Ignition Facility at the Lawrence Livermore Lab. The basic Physics involved gives Heavy Ion Fusion an advantage over Laser Fusion because heavy ions have greater penetration power than photons. The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider can be used as a Prototype Heavy Ion Fusion Reactor for the Large Hadron Collider.

Calculatons of the Electron Radius

Equating the Rest Mass Energy of a free electron to its Rest Charge Energy we prove that the electron cannot be a dimensionless point particle because if it were dimensionless, it would contain an infinite amount of Rest Charge Energy at the location of its charge since r = 0 gives , which is clearly not possible. Since the electron has no internal structure, equating its Rest Mass Energy to its Rest Charge Energy, we calculate the electron to be a sphere of radius 4.68 × 10-16 meters. We calculate the Electric Field at the surface of the electron due to its charge and the Repulsive Force two electrons in proximity exert on each other.

Effects of a flexible joint on instability of a free-free jointed bipartite beam under the follower and transversal forces

This paper deals with the problem of the instability regions of a free-free flexible jointed bipartite beam under the follower and transversal forces as a realistic simulation of a two-stage aerospace structure. The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of the characteristics of a flexible joint on the beam instability to use maximum bearable propulsion force. A parametric study is conducted to investigate the effects of the stiffness and the location of the joint on the critical follower force by the Ritz method and the Newmark method, then to research the vibrational properties of the structure. It has been shown that the nature of instability is quite unpredictable and dependent on the stiffness and the location of the joint. The increase of the follower force or the transversal force will increase the vibration of the model and consequently cause a destructive phenomenon in the control system of the aerospace structure. Furthermore, this paper introduces a new concept of the parametric approach to analyze the characteristics effects of a flexible two-stage aerospace structure joint design.

Determine the Level of Organizational Learning Capability in Teaching Hospitals in Bandar Abbas City—Iran

Background: The hospital is a scientific organization that despite much progress, today, is also dependent on manpower. One of the main requirements for the proper functioning of manpower is that through learning, they be updated in terms of knowledge. Thus, the aim of this study was to determine the level of Organizational Learning Capability in hospitals in Bandar Abbas City—Iran. Methods: In 2014, this descriptive-analytic study was conducted in hospitals in Bandar Abbas City. The data was collected through the Gomez questionnaire for organizational learning from 290 employees of hospitals. Data analysis was done using software SPSS V.20 and by the Mann-Whitney U test and the Kruskal-Wallis test. Results: Organizational Learning Capability in governmental, private and social security hospitals were 0.31 ± 53.06, 9.38 ± 47.38 and 0.27 ± 50.74, respectively. The results of the Kruskal-Wallis test showed that the relationship between the variables of employment status (p = 0.034), occupational categories (p = 0.043), and type of ownership (p = 0.02), was significant with the organizational learning capability but such a significant relationship was not observed in terms of age, educational level and employment status. The results of the Mann- Whitney U-test indicated a significant association between marital status (p = 0.029) and type of hospital (p = 0.049) with the organizational learning capability. Conclusion: Need to up-to-dating of staff’s knowledge has made undeniable the role of organizational learning. According to the results, managers have to provide conditions for improving the status quo through promoting or-ganizational learning and extend the ability of the organization for growth and progress.

Rotating sandwich cylindrical shells with an FGM core and two FGPM layers: free vibration analysis

The free vibration analysis of a rotating cylindrical shell with an analytical method is investigated. The shell is considered as a sandwich structure, where the middle layer is a functionally graded material(FGM) shell, and it is surrounded by two piezoelectric layers. Considering piezoelectric materials to be functionally graded(FG),the material properties vary along the thickness direction as one innovation of this *** the first-order shear deformation theory(FSDT), the equations of motion of this electromechanical system are derived as the partial differential equations(PDEs) using Hamilton's principle. Then, the Galerkin procedure is used to discretize the governing equations, and the present results are compared with the previously published results for both isotropic and FGM shells to verify the analytical method. Finally, the effects of FGM and functionally graded piezoelectric material(FGPM) properties as well as the thickness ratio and the axial and circumferential wave numbers on the natural frequencies are studied. Moreover, the Campbell diagram is plotted and discussed through the governing equations. The present results show that increasing the non-homogeneous index of the FGM decreases the natural frequencies on the contrary of the effect of non-homogeneous index of the FGPM.

Bifurcation in a 3-DOF Airfoil with Cubic Structural Nonlinearity

Limit cycle oscillations （LCOs） as well as nonlinear aeroelastic analysis of a 3-DOF aeroelastic airfoil motion with cubic restoring moments in the pitch degree of freedom are investigated. Aeroelastic equations of an airfoil with control surface in an incompressible potential flow are presented in the time domain. The harmonic balance （HB） method is utilized to calculate the LCO frequency and amplitude for the airfoil. Also the semi-analytical method has revealed the presence of stable and unstable limit cycles, along with stability reversal in the neighborhood of a Hopf bifurcation. The system response is determined by nu- merically integrating the governing equations using a standard Runge-Kutta algorithm and the obtained results are compared with the HB method. Also the results by the third order HB （HB3） method for control surface are consistent with the other numerical solution. Finally, by combining the numerical and the HB methods, types of bifiarcation, be it supercritical, subcritical, or diver- gent flutter area are identified.

Synthesis of linear low-density polyethylene-g-poly(acrylic acid)-co-starch/organo-montmorillonite hydrogel composite as an adsorbent for removal of Pb(Ⅱ) from aqueous solutions

The purpose of this work is to remove Pb（II） from the aqueous solution using a type of hydrogel composite. A hydrogel composite consisting of waste linear low density polyethylene, acrylic acid, starch, and organo-montmorillonite was prepared through emulsion polymerization method. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIR）, Solid carbon nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy（CNMR））, silicon-29 nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy（Si NMR））, and X-ray diffraction spectroscope（（XRD） were applied to characterize the hydrogel composite. The hydrogel composite was then employed as an adsorbent for the removal of Pb（II） from the aqueous solution. The Pb（II）-loaded hydrogel composite was characterized using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy（FTIR））,scanning electron microscopy（SEM））, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（（XPS））. From XPS results, it was found that the carboxyl and hydroxyl groups of the hydrogel composite participated in the removal of Pb（II）. Kinetic studies indicated that the adsorption of Pb（II）followed the pseudo-second-order equation. It was also found that the Langmuir model described the adsorption isotherm better than the Freundlich isotherm. The maximum removal capacity of the hydrogel composite for Pb（II） ions was 430 mg/g. Thus, the waste linear low-density polyethylene-g-poly（acrylic acid）-co-starch/organo-montmorillonite hydrogel composite could be a promising Pb（II） adsorbent.
