Objective to study the possible association between erosion of cervix in pregnant women (ECP) and structural birth defects, i.e. congenital abnormalities (CA) in their offspring. Study design: Comparison of cases with CA and all matched controls without any CA born to wo- men with prospectively and medical record ECP in the population-based large data set of the Hungarian Case-Control Surveillance of Congenital Abnormalities (HCCSCA). Results: HCC- SCA contained 22,843 cases and 38,151 matched controls, the informative offspring of 40 (0.18%) case mothers and the newborns of 25 control mothers (0.07%) with ECP were compared and the higher risk for total CA (adjusted OR with 95% CI: 2.7, 1.6-4.4) was found explained by the higher risk of 9 cases with hypospadias (OR with 95% CI: 4.5, 2.1-9.7) and 10 cases with car-diovascular CAs (OR with 95% CI: 3.4, 1.6-7.1), particularly with conotruncal CAs. Objective Uterine leiomyoma is not a rare pathological condition in pregnant women;thus the aim of the study was to evaluate the recent progress in the treatment of these pregnant women on the basis of the association of leiomyoma in pregnancy (LP) with pregnancy complications and birth outcomes including structural birth defects, i.e. congenital abnormalities (CA) in the offspring. Design Cases with CA and matched controls without CA in the population-based Hungarian Case-Control Surveillan- ce System of Congenital Abnormalities (HCC SCA) were evaluated. Only women with prospectively and medically recorded LP in prenatal maternity logbook and medically recorded birth outcomes (gestational age, birth weight, CA) were included to the study. Setting the HCCSCA, 1980-1996 contained 22,843 cases with CA and 38,151 matched controls without CA. Population Hungarian pregnant women and their informative offspring: live births, stillbirths and prenatally diagnosed malformed fetuses. Methods Comparison of birth outcomes of ca- ses with matched controls and pregnancy com- plications of pregnant women with or without LP. Main outcome measures Pregnancy complications, mean gestational age at delivery and birth weight, rate of preterm birth, low birthweight, CA. Results A total of 34 (0.15%) cases had mothers with LP compared to 71 (0.19%) controls. There was a higher incidence of threatened abortion, placental disorders, mainly abruption placentae and anaemia in mothers with LP. There was no significantly higher rate of preterm birth in the newborns of women with LP but their mean birth weight was higher and it associated with a higher rate of large birthweight newborns. A higher risk of total CA was not found in cases born to mothers with LP (adjusted OR with 95% CI = 0.7, 0.5-1.1), the spe- cified groups of CAs were also assessed versus controls, but a higher occurrence of women with LP was not revealed in any CA group. The repeated failures of any equipment or systems are modeled as a renewal process. The management needs an assessment of the number of future failures to allocate the resources needed for fast repairs. based on the idea of expectation by conditioning, special Volterra-type integral equations are derived for general types of repairs, considering the length of repair and reduced degradation of the idle object. In addition to minimal repair and failure replacement, partial repairs are also discussed when the repair results in reduction of the number of future failures or decreases the effective age of the object. Numerical integration-based algorithm and simulation study are performed to solve the resulting integral equation. Since the geometry degradation in different dimensions of a rail track and controlling and maintaining defects are of importance, a numerical example using the rail industry data is conducted. Expected number of failures of different failure type modes in rail track is calculated within a two-year interval. Results show that within a two-year period, anticipated occurrences of cross level failures, surface failures, and DPI failures are 2.4, 3.8, and 5.8, respectively.

A general summability method, the so-called θ-summability is considered for multi-dimensional Fourier transforms. Under some conditions on θ, it is proved that the maximal operator of the θ-means defined in a cone is bounded from the amalgam Hardy space W（hp, e∞） to W（Lp,e∞）. This implies the almost everywhere convergence of the θ-means in a cone for all f ∈ W（L1, e∞） velong to L1.

Phytochromes are red/far-red reversible photoreceptors essential for plant growth and *** signaling is mediated by the physiologically active far-red-absorbing Pfr form that can be inactivated to the red-absorbing Pr ground state by light-dependent photoconversion or by light-independent thermal reversion,also termed dark *** the term“dark reversion”is justified by historical reasons and frequently used in the literature,“thermal reversion”more appropriately describes the process of light-independent but temperature-regulated Pfr relaxation that not only occurs in darkness but also in light and is used throughout the *** reversion is a critical parameter for the light sensitivity of phytochrome-mediated responses and has been studied for decades,often resulting in contradictory *** reversion is an intrinsic property of the phytochrome molecules but can be modulated by intra-and intermolecular interactions,as well as biochemical modifications,such as *** this review,we outline the research history of phytochrome thermal reversion,highlighting important predictions that have been made before knowing the molecular *** further summarize and discuss recent findings about the molecular mechanisms regulating phytochrome thermal reversion and its functional roles in light and temperature sensing in plants.
