In the summers of 1998 and 1999, Chinese and Japanese scientists cooperatively conducted the first large-scale energy and water cycle experiment(WCRP/GEWEX/GAME/HUBEX: World Climate Research Program/Global Energy and Water Cycle Experiment/Asian Monsoon Experiment/Huaihe River Basin Energy and Water Cycle Experiment) in the Huaihe River basin, Anhui Province of China. The main objective of this field experiment(HUBEX)was to investigate the multiple-scale structure characteristics, life cycles, and genesis and development mechanisms of the Meiyu system in East Asia as well as the cause of related flooding disasters. It was a joint China-Japan cooperative meteorological and hydrological observation experiment. On the basis of intensive observations, scientists from the two countries conducted follow-up investigations through collating and compiling data and performing scientific analysis during the following five years. It can be concluded that the HUBEX project has yielded comprehensive and remarkable achievements. This paper introduces the major scientific results derived from this field experiment and the ensuing investigations, and reassesses their merits and shortages for the purpose of providing useful experience and proposing new research targets as well as prospects for the initiation of a new joint scientific Meiyu experiment in the middle and lower Yangtze River basin.

Precipitation is an important indicator of climate change and a critical process in the hydrological cycle, on both the global and regional scales. Methods of precipitation observation and associated analyses are of strategic importance in global climate change research. As the first space-based radar, the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission （TRMM） Precipitation Radar （PR） has been in operation for almost 17 years and has acquired a huge amount of cloud and pre- cipitation data that provide a distinctive view to help expose the nature of cloud and precipitation in the tropics and subtropics. In this paper we review recent advances in summer East Asian precipitation climatology studies based on long-term TRMM PR measurements in the following three aspects：（1） the three-dimensional structure of precipita- tion, （2） the diurnal variation of precipitation, and （3） the recent precipitation trend. Additionally, some importantprospects regarding satellite remote sensing of precipitation and its application in the near future are discussed.

Thousands of long non-coding RNAs(lncRNAs)have been discovered in human genomes by gene chip,next-generation sequencing,and/or other methods in recent years,which represent a significant subset of the universal genes involved in a wide range of biological functions.An abnormal expression of lncRNAs is associated with the growth,invasion,and metastasis of various types of human cancers,including hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC),which is an aggressive,highly malignant,and invasive tumor,and a poor prognosis in China.With a more in-depth understanding of lncRNA research for HCC and the emergence of new moleculartargeted therapies,the diagnosis,treatment,and prognosis of HCC will be considerably improved.Therefore,this review is expected to provide recommendations and directions for future lncRNA research for HCC.

以福州市自然保护地现状为基础数据,利用GIS空间分析方法,对福州市自然保护地空间分布特征进行了研究,并从生物多样性、生态环境及自然遗迹保护重点区域对全市自然保护地进行了保护空缺分析,以期为福州市自然保护地发展建设提供理论依据。结果表明:(1)福州市自然保护地类型以自然保护区为主;(2)各级各类自然保护地相对集中地分布于闽侯县、鼓楼区、马尾区、仓山区等中部行政区域;(3)交叉重叠情况共3种类型,分别为自然保护地与风景名胜区交叉重叠、自然保护区与森林公园交叉重叠及风景名胜区与森林公园交叉重叠,重叠区域面积569.74 hm^(2);(4)福建省保护空缺区域主要分布于晋安区、罗源县等中北部区域,保护空缺面积为105788.90 hm^(2)。

目标跟踪是计算机视觉中一个具有挑战性的研究课题。在过去的十多年里,研究人员们提出了各种算法来解决这个问题,并取得了显著性的成果。近年来,基于Transformer的跟踪模型以其强鲁棒性,使目标跟踪有了开创性的进展。对Transformer跟踪方法进行深入地分析,将其分为基于CNN-Transformer的跟踪器、基于两阶段全Transformer的跟踪器和基于一阶段CNN-Transformer的跟踪器,并分析它们各自的优缺点。进一步在公开的数据集上,试验评估了不同跟踪器的跟踪性能和速度,测试它们在不同跟踪场景下的效果。分析了Transformer跟踪方法的基本原理、目前面临的挑战和未来可能的发展方向。

Stabilizing nickel sulfide nanoparticles with an ultrathin carbon layer for improved cycling performance in sodium ion batteries

Nanostructured metal sulfides are potential electrode materials for sodium-ion batteries; however, they typically suffer from very poor cycling stability due to large volume changes and dissolution of discharge products. Herein we propose a rational material design strategy for sulfide-based materials to address these problems. Taking nickel sulfide （NiSx） as an example, we demonstrated that its electrochemical performance can be dramatically improved by confining the NiSx nanoparticles in a percolating conductive carbon nanotube network, and stabilizing them with an ultrathin carbon coating layer. The carbon layer serves as a physical barrier to alleviate the effects of both the volume change and dissolution of active materials. The hybrid material exhibited a large reversible specific capacity of 〉500 mAh/g and excellent cycling stability over 200 cycles. Given the traditionally problematic nature of NiSx as a battery anode material, we believe that the observed high performance reported here reflects the effectiveness of our material design strategy.

Relationship between Extreme Precipitation and Temperature in Two Different Regions:The Tibetan Plateau and Middle–East China

The change of extreme precipitation with temperature has regional characteristics in the context of global warming.In this study, radiosonde data, co-located rain gauge(RG) observations, and Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission(TRMM) precipitation radar(PR) products are used to explore the relationship between extreme precipitation intensity and near-surface temperature in Middle–East China(MEC) and the eastern Tibetan Plateau(TP) during1998–2012. The results show that extreme precipitation intensity increases with increasing temperature at an approximate Clausius–Clapeyron(C–C) rate(i.e., water vapor increases by 7% as temperature increases by 1°C based on the C–C equation) in MEC and TP, but the rate of increase is larger in TP than in MEC. This is probably because TP(MEC) is featured with deep convective(stratiform) precipitation, which releases more(less) latent heat and strengthens the convection intensity on a shorter(longer) timescale. It is also found that when temperature is higher than 25°C(15°C) in MEC(TP), the extreme precipitation intensity decreases with rise of temperature, suggesting that the precipitation intensity does not always increase with warming. In this case, the limited atmospheric humidity and precipitable water could be the primary factors for the decrease in extreme precipitation intensity at higher temperatures.

Generating B cell-deficient mutant is the first step to produce human antibody repertoires in large animal models. In this study, we applied the clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeat （CRISPR）/CRISPR-associated （Cas） system to target the JH region of the pig IgM heavy chain gene which is crucial for B cell development and differentiation. Transfection of IgM-targeting Cas9 plasmid in primary porcine fetal fibroblasts （PFFs） enabled inducing gene knock out （KO） in up to 53.3% of colonies analyzed, a quarter of which harbored biallelic modification, which was much higher than that of the traditional homologous recombination （HR）. With the aid of somatic cell nuclear transfer （SCNT） technology, three piglets with the biallelic lgM heavy chain gene mutation were produced. The piglets showed no antibody-producing B cells which indicated that the biallelic mutation of the lgM heavy chain gene effectively knocked out the function of the IgM and resulted in a B cell-deficient phenotype. Our study suggests that the CRISPR/Cas9 system combined with SCNT technology is an efficient genome-editing approach in pigs.
