Background Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder （ADHD） is one of the most common mental disorders during childhood, characterized by the core symptoms of hyperactivity, impulsivity and inattention and puts great burden on children themselves, their families and the society. Osmotic release oral system methylphenidate （OROS-MPH） is a once-daily controlled-release formulation developed to overcome some of the limitations associated with immediate-release methylphenidate （IR-MPH）. It has been marketed in China since 2005 but still lacks data from large-sample clinical trials on efficacy and safety profiles. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of OROS-MPH in children aged 6 to 16 years with ADHD under naturalistic clinical setting. Methods This 6-week, multi-center, prospective, open-label study enrolled 1447 ADHD children to once-daily OROS-MPH （18 mg, 36 mg or 54 mg） treatment. The effectiveness measures were parent-rated Inattention and Overactivity With Aggression （IOWA） Conners I/O and O/D subscales, physician-rated CGI-I and parent-rated global efficacy assessment scale. Blood pressure, pulse rate measurement, adverse events （AEs） and concomitant medications and treatment review were conducted by the investigator and were served as safety measures. Results A total of 1447 children with ADHD （mean age （9.52＋_2.36） years） were enrolled in this trial. Totally 96.8% children received an OROS-MPH modal dose of 18 mg, 3.1% with 36 mg and 0.1% with 54 mg at the endpoint of study. The parent IOWA Conners I/O score at the end of week 2 showed statistically significant （P 〈0.001） improvement with OROS-MPH （mean： 6.95±2..71） versus the score at baseline （10.45±2.72）. The change in the parent IOWA Conners O/D subscale, CGI-I and parent-rated global efficacy assessment scale also supported the superior efficacy for OROS-MPH treatment. Introduction THickGaseous Electron Multiplier(THGEM)has many advantages while the moderate position resolution is regarded as the main inferiority comparing with the traditional GEM,so this limits the applications of THGEM,such as X-ray imaging and charge particle *** and methods By improving the production techniques,THGEMs with smaller pitch and hole diameter can be made,i.e.,0.4 and 0.15 mm by mechanical drilling,and 0.3 and 0.1 mm by laser etching,*** on the new THGEMs,a two-dimensional imaging detector with 50×50mm sensitive area was developed for 0.1∼50 MeVlow-energy electrons detection and reaching better than 100μm position resolution(sigma).At the same time,a set of front-end electronics was developed based on homemade ASIC chips,i.e.,Charge Amplifier and Shaping Amplifier for GEM(CASAGEM),and applied successfully to the *** The X-ray and beam tests results indicate that both detector and Front End Electronics(FEE)worked well,and the position resolution achieved 74.9μm by using the charge center-of-gravity *** indicates that the high-position resolution THGEM is promising for imaging and tracking application.

Development and characterization of new allohexaploid resistant to web blotch in peanut

Peanut diseases seriously threaten peanut production, creating disease-resistant materials via interspecific hybridization is an effective way to deal with this problem. In this study, the embryo of an interspecific F1 hybrid was obtained by crossing the Silihong(Slh) cultivar with Arachis duranensis(ZW55), a diploid wild species. Seedlings were generated by embryo rescue and tissue culture. A true interspecific hybrid was then confirmed by cytological methods and molecular markers. After treating seedlings with colchicine during in vitro multiplication, the established interspecific F1 hybrid produced seeds which were named as Am1210. With oligonucleotide fluorescence in situ hybridization(Oligo FISH), molecular marker evaluations, morphological and web blotch resistance characterization, we found that: 1) Am1210 was an allohexaploid between Slh and ZW55;2) the traits of spreading lateral branches, single-seeded or double-seeded pods and red seed coats were observed to be dominant compared to the erect type, multiple-seeded pods and brown seed coats;3) the web blotch resistance of Am1210 was significantly improved than that of Slh, indicating the contribution of the web blotch resistance from the wild parent A. duranensis. In addition, 69 dominant and co-dominant molecular markers were developed which could be both used to verify the hybrid in this study and to identify translocation or introgression lines with A. duranensis chromosome fragments in future studies as well.

High quality single crystals of heavy Fermion CeCoIn_(5) superconductor have been grown by flux method with a typical size of(1-2)×(1-2)×(~0.1)mm^(3).The single crystals are characterized by structural analysis from x-ray diffraction and Laue diffraction,as well as compositional *** and electrical measurements on the single crystals show a sharp superconducting transition with a transition temperature at T_(c,onset)~2.3 K and a transition width of~0.15 *** resistivity of the CeCoIn_(5) crystal exhibits a hump at~45 K,which is typical of a heavy Fermion *** resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy(ARPES)measurements of CeCoIn_(5) reveal clear Fermi surface sheets that are consistent with the band structure calculations when assuming itinerant Ce 4f electrons at low *** work provides important information on the electronic structure of heavy Fermion CeCoIn_(5) *** also lays a foundation for further studies on the physical properties and superconducting mechanism of the heavy Fermion superconductors.

DNA studies of endangered or extinct species often rely on ancient or degraded *** majority of ancient DNA(aDNA)extraction protocols focus on skeletal elements,with skin and hair samples rarely *** to that found in bones and teeth,DNA extracted from historical or ancient skin and fur samples is also extremely fragmented with low endogenous content due to natural degradation ***,the development of effective DNA extraction methods is required for these ***,we compared the performance of two DNA extraction protocols(commercial and custom laboratory aDNA methods)on hair and skin samples from decades-old museum specimens to Iron Age archaeological *** found that apart from the impact sample-specific taphonomic and handling history has on the quantity and quality of DNA preservation,skin yielded more endogenous DNA than hair of the samples and protocols *** both methods recovered DNA from ancient soft tissue,the laboratory method performed better overall in terms of DNA yield and quality,which was primarily due to the poorer performance of the commercial binding buffer in recovering aDNA.

为了解决D-和L-缬氨酸单晶在～270 K相变的机理和分岐,以比热法测定单晶、多晶粉末及Sigma多晶产品发现,只有D-和L-缬氨酸单晶发生相变,且为吸热反应,能差0.18 J·mol-1.本文以Mo-Kα(λ=0.071073nm)为光源的X衍射精确测定表明,D-/L-缬氨酸单晶属于单斜空间点群P21,Z=4.在相变温度～270 K,其晶格常数分别为:a=0.96706(5)/0.96737(5)nm,b=0.52680(3)/0.52664(3)nm,c=1.20256(7)/1.20196(6)nm,β=90.724(2)°/90.722(3)°.在晶体结构的单元细胞中,含有两种转动异构体:A(trans)和B(gauche I).温度为293、270、223、173 K的X衍射精细结构数据表明:在～270 K,D-缬氨酸单晶分子内N―H…O氢键中,N―H、H…O的键长及键角∠N―H…O都发生波动起伏而不可测,但N―H…O总键长变化稳定可测.说明没有发生构型相变为L-缬氨酸.根据D-和L-缬氨酸单晶中,NH3→CO2顺时针和逆时针的相反走向及D-,L-和DL-缬氨酸晶体旋光角的测定,在270-290 K可以观察到晶格分子间N+H…O-氢键电子库珀对的自旋流超导相变.
