This paper aims to contribute to the prevention of natural disasters and generate a complement to other similar studies. The Popocatépetl volcano has showed significant and constant activity since 1994. The Colorada and Quimichule canyons are located within its geologic structure;due to their topographic features, ejected volcanic material and torrential rains in the past recent years, they put nearby communities at risk. This work presents a geostatistical analysis to obtain the gravity acceleration, slope by the distance-elevation relation, height-gravity and the fluid force on the canyons. The conversion of UTM to geographical coordinates was made with the use of the program Traninv applying the ITRF2008 epoch 2010.0 Datum and the 14 Zone;the local gravity was calculated with the use of International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) and the statistical analysis was obtained with the use of the Geostatistical Environmental Assessment. The structural modeling was performed using Surfer, and the spending and force were calculated using hydrological models. The correlation analysis concluded that Quimichule has the greatest gravity and that it would transport lahars faster. Mapping, geomorphological and statistical techniques and models were applied in accordance with the study to obtain the results presented here.

Four immobility responses (IR): elicited by clamping, bandaging, grasping and inversion, and their modification by potassium and spironolactone was studied in old Wistar rats (body weight, 500 g). When undrugged, only clamping and grasping, but not bandaging and inversion induced an IR in rats. Potassium and spironolactone significantly enhanced the duration of IR induced by clamping but not by grasping. They also induced an immobility response by bandaging, but not by inversion. The data suggest that IR induced by clamping and bandaging are somehow related to changes in the potassium serum levels. Consequently, such a relationship may be a suitable model to study some forms of paralysis in human beings which are related to changes in the potassium serum levels.

B. aegyptiaca, it is a species of economic and cultural importance in various countries, with diverse uses that include: medicinal, charcoal, pesticides and forage and in vitro callus production is important to have many applications in both basic and industrial research on this specie. For the induction of callus, B. aegyptica seed cotyledons were surface sterilized with 90% ethanol for 1 minute and cultivated in MS media supplemented with 2,4-D, BAP and NAA. Both the callus and seed were collected and dried in an oven at 40°C - 45°C. Cotyledon’s seed and callus were grounded into the powdered form using mortar and pestle and stored at room temperature for further use. Five grams (5 g) each of the powder were mixed with 50 ml of the solvents: methanol and n-hexane (1:10) w/v, agitated vigorously and kept on an orbital shaker at 150 rpm for 24 h, then filtered. The extracts of the plant sample were evaluated in agar dilution method which was used to determine the MIC and MBC of the extracts. The auxin NAA in low concentrations (0.5 mg/L) in the presence of a dose of 0.5 mg/L of the cytokinin BAP induced 100% callus formation. The 50 and 100 mg/ml methanolic extracts were more effective than the n-hexane extracts for both the gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. By callus extracts under 100 and 50 mg/ml reveals that methanolic extracts of callus had the highest zone of inhibition. An effective protocol for callus induction has been developed that can use for germplasm conservation or for genetic engineering. IgA Nephropathy: Are We Doing Enough?

Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN) was first identified and described as a disease by Berger and Hinglais in 1968. It is the most common primary glomerulopathy worldwide [1], most prevalent in East Asians and Caucasians and rare in black individuals. There are four key elements that contribute to IgAN, which determine the severity, course, and prognosis of the disease: circulating IgA immunocomplexes that favor mesangial deposition, the efficiency of the reticuloendothelial system, mesangial cell affinity and reaction to mesangial accumulation of poorly glycosylated IgA1, and the renal tendency to glomerulosclerosis and interstitial fibrosis. Clinical manifestations among patients with IgAN include hematuria, approximately 40% to 50% of cases present with one or more episodes of hematuria, usually preceded by upper respiratory tract infections. Between 30% and 40% present with hematuria and non-nephrotic range proteinuria that may be associated with arterial hypertension and impaired renal function. The TESTING study reveal a significant decrease in outcomes such as the risk of a 40% decrease in glomerular filtration rate or the need for renal replacement therapy in the group treated with steroids. The decrease in renal function compared to the group treated in the previously mentioned STOP-IgAN trial was 4 times less than in the TESTING study. Are we doing enough? Obviously, more trials are required with the use of adequate nephroprotection measures. We present 3 patients with a diagnosis of IgA nephropathy who attend the follow-up consultation and voluntarily decide to take part in the review.

AIM To investigate the survival impact of clinicopathological factors, including pathological complete response(p CR) and tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes(s TIL) levels according to subtypes, in breast cancer(BC) patients who received neo-adjuvant chemotherapy(NAC).METHODS We evaluated 435 BC patients who presented and received NAC at the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplasicas from 2003 to 2014. s TIL was analyzed as the proportion of tumor stroma occupied by lymphocytes, and was prospectively evaluated on hematoxylin and eosin-stained sections of the preN AC core biopsy. p CR was considered in the absence of infiltrating cancer cells in primary tumor and axillary lymph nodes. Analysis of statistical association between clinical pathological features, s TIL, p CR and survival were carried out using *** Median age was 49 years(range 24-84 years) and the most frequent clinical stage was ⅢB(58.3%). Luminal A, Luminal B, HER2-enriched and(triple-negative) TN phenotype was found in 24.6%, 37.9%, 17.7% and 19.8%, respectively. p CR was observed in 11% and median percentage of s TIL was 40%(2%-95%) in the whole population. p CR was associated to Ct1-2(P = 0.045) and to high s TIL(P = 0.029) in the whole population. There was a slight trend towards significance for s TIL(P = 0.054) in Luminal A. s TIL was associated with grade Ⅲ(P lation. Longer disease-free survival was associated with grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ(P = 0.006), cN 0(P de Ⅰ-Ⅱ in Luminal A(P < 0.001), N0-1 in Luminal A(P = 0.045) and TNBC(P = 0.01), clinical stage Ⅱ in Luminal A(P = 0.003) and TNBC(P = 0.038), and pC R in TNBC(P < 0.001).
