BACKGROUND Surgical therapy of infective endocarditis(IE)involving aortic valves and mitral valves is ***,there are few reports concerning patients with culture-negative endocarditis complicated by the appearance of comorbid valvular perforation and ***,real-time surveillance of changes in cardiac structure and function is critical for timely surgical management,especially in patients who do not respond to medical *** SUMMARY Here,we report an atypical case in a 9-mo-old infant without congenital heart disease but with symptoms of intermittent fever and macular *** examination,laboratory tests,and electrocardiograms suggested a diagnosis of IE,although the result of blood cultures was exactly *** treatment with antibiotic drugs,the patient got a transient *** the 9th day,we proceeded with continuous echocardiogram due to fever again and the results revealed aortic valve abscess with perforation,regurgitation,vegetation,and pericardial *** monitoring revealed aortic valve perforation,presence of apothegmatic cystic spaces below the left coronary cusp of the aortic valve,and severe aortic valve *** valve repair was performed by autologous pericardial patch *** patient was discharged after 4 wk of treatment and no complications occurred after *** Our case demonstrated the necessity of serial echocardiography monitoring for possible adverse symptoms of IE in pediatric patients.

Owing to the significant potential of alkalin seawater electrolysis for converting surplus power into eco friendly hydrogen fuel,we developed bifunctional elec trodes that integrate low-crystalline NiFe LDHs and amorphous NiFe alloy on a Ni foam(NF)substrate to enhance this *** by the battery-like charac teristics of NiFe LDHs,an anti-corrosive and active oute layer of NiFe^(vac)OOH continuously forms over time in th hybrid on the anode for the oxygen evolution reaction(OER),effectively mitigating powder shedding caused by corrosion induced by multiple anions in *** while,the strong bond between the hybrid and the NF substrate maintains intact hybrid coatings to ensure a rel atively high overall conductivity of the electrodes,signif icantly reducing the negative effects of structura degradation during the OER and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER),as well as the accumulation of contami nants on the electrode *** long-term tests,thes bifunctionalhybridelectrodesmaintained stable performance,even at a high current density o500 mA·cm^(-2).The cell voltage increased by only 88 m V over 1000 h to 1.970 V during saline electrolysis and by103 mV over 500 h to 2.062 V during seawater electroly ***,this study provides valuable insights into efficient and stable seawater electrolysis using NiFe LDHs–NiFe alloy hybrids.

The electrical parameters of H_(2)/Ar plasma in a cylindrical inductive discharge with an expansion region are investigated by a Langmuir probe,where Ar fractions range from 0%to 100%.The influence of gas composition and pressure on electron density,the effective electron temperature and the electron energy probability functions(EEPFs)at different spatial positions are *** driver region,with the introduction of a small amount of Ar at 0.3 Pa,there is a rapid increase in electron density accompanied by a decrease in the effective electron ***,the shape of the EEPF transitions from a three-temperature distribution to a bi-Maxwellian distribution due to an increase in electron-electron ***,this phenomenon resulting from the changes in gas composition vanishes at 5 Pa due to the prior depletion of energetic electrons caused by the increase in pressure during hydrogen *** EEPFs for the total energy in expansion region is coincident to these in the driver region at 0.3 Pa,as do the patterns of electron density variation between these two regions for differing Ar *** 5 Pa,as the discharge transitions from H_(2)to Ar,the EEPFs evolved from a bi-Maxwellian distribution with pronounced low energy electrons to a Maxwellian distribution in expansion *** evolve may be attributed to a reduction in molecular vibrational excitation reactions of electrons during transport and the transition from localized electron dynamics in hydrogen discharge to non-localized electron dynamics in argon *** order to validate the experimental results,we use the COMSOL simulation software to calculate electrical parameters under the same *** evolution and spatial distribution of the electrical parameters of the simulation results agree well with the trend of the experimental results.

Objective:To summarize the characteristics and evaluate the quality of the methodology and evidence within systematic reviews(SRs)of Chinese herbal medicine(CHM)for Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia(MPP)***:SRs of randomized controlled trials were searched using PubMed,the Cochrane Library,Embase,the Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure Databases(CNKI),the Chinese Scientific Journals Database(VIP),Wanfang,and the sinoMed *** on the use of CHM alone or in combination with Western medications for MPP in children were *** study compared the effects of Western medicine alone with those of *** evidence quality using the A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews(AMSTAR)2,the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses(PRISMA)2020,and the Grading of Recommendations,Assessment,Development,and Evaluation(GRADE)*** primary indicators were the total effective rate,fever subsidence time,and cough disappearance *** secondary outcomes were pulmonary rale disappearance time,average hospitalization time,lung X-ray infiltrate disappearance time,immunological indices,and inflammatory cytokine ***:Twelve relevant SRs were included;75%(9/12)were assessed as very low quality,and 25%(3/12)Were rated as low quality using the AMSTAR 2 *** to the PRISMA 2020 checklist,the average SR score was 20.3 out of a 27 point *** all SRs,CHM demonstrated improvement in symptoms and signs among children with *** evidence quality using the GRADE criteria ranged from"very low"(>50%)to"moderate"(sion,followed by publication bias and ***:This overview highlights the limited quality of the methodology and evidence of the included *** the included studies showed the beneficial effects of CHM on MPP in children,it was difficult to draw firm conclusions owing to methodological flaws.

Electrocatalysis of CO_(2)reduction reaction is an effective way to convert CO_(2)into high value-added products,but the selectivity of Cu-based catalysts for C2+products needs to be improved due to the high energy barrier of C-C ***,a viable catalyst design strategy to decrease energy barrier of C-C coupling should be put ***,a nanocavity-enriched CuPd single atom alloy(CuPd SAA)catalyst is designed to promote CC coupling *** faradaic efficiency of CuPd SAA for ethylene and C_(2+)reaches 75.6%and 85.7%at-0.7 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE),*** on the results given by in situ characterization,the porous hollow structure dramatically increases the ratio of the linear-bond*CO,thus enhancing the faradaic efficiency for *** functional theory(DFT)calculation reveals that the Pd doping can regulate the electronic structure of neighboring Cu atoms to decrease the energy barrier of C-C coupling,further improving the faradaic *** work provides a new idea for designing catalyst with high selectivity for ethylene.

This editorial comments on an article published in a recent issue of World Journal of Gastroenterology,entitled“Association of low muscle strength with metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease:A nationwide study”.We focused on the association between muscle strength and the incidence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD)and metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD),as well as the mechanisms underlying the correlation and related clinical ***,which is now redefined as MAFLD,is one of the most common chronic liver diseases globally with an increasing prevalence and is characterized by malnutrition,which may contribute to decreased muscle *** of muscle strength reportedly has a pathogenesis similar to that of NAFLD/MAFLD,including insulin resistance,inflammation,sedentary behavior,as well as insufficient vitamin *** studies have focused on the relationship between sarcopenia or muscle strength and ***,studies investigating the relationship between muscle strength and MAFLD are *** to the shortage of specific medications for NAFLD/MAFLD treatment,early detection is ***,the relationship between muscle strength and NAFLD/MAFLD suggests that improvements in muscle strength may have an impact on disease prevention and may provide novel insights into treatments including dietary therapy,as well as tailored physical activity.

The experimental realization of Rydberg dressing technology in ultracold atomic systems provides another superior platform for studying novel states of matter and macroscopic quantum *** this work,based on the mean-field theory,we have investigated the ground-state phases of a two-component Bose–Einstein condensate with Rydberg interaction and confined in a toroidal *** effects of the Rydberg interaction and external potential,especially the Rydberg blockade radius,on the ground-state structure of such a system have been investigated in full parameter *** results show that the Rydberg blockade radius,which can be regarded as another controllable parameter,can be used to obtain a variety of ground-state *** interestingly,it is found that for weak Rydberg interactions,the Rydberg blockade radius breaks the spontaneous rotational symmetry of the system,leading to the formation of a discrete unit cell *** strongly interacting cases,it can be used to realize different orders of discrete rotational symmetry breaking.

In prevailing p-i-n perovskite solar cells(PSCs),solution-processible fullerene molecules are widely used as electron-transporting layers(ETLs)but they typically suffer from poor uniformity and undesirable stability ***,a separate bathocuproine(BCP)layer is needed to block hole tran sfer,increasing fabrication complexity and ***,we address these limitations by develo ping a novel polymeric ETL(named PF BCP)synthesized by polymerizing C_(60)with *** innovative material achieves both efficient electron transport and hole blocking,while its excellent uniformity minimizes interface recombination and enhances ***,our blade-coated PSCs utilizing PFBCP achieve a high power conversion efficiency exceeding 22%and retain 91%of initial efficiency after 1200 h of light *** development not only paves the way for commercially viable PSCs but also opens avenues for future ETL design to realize even more efficient and stable PSCs.
