Cotton leaf worm. Spodoptera littoralis, is considered one of the m.st com.on arthropod pests that contribute to crop devastation of cotton. Previously, agricultural pests were controlled through the application of chem.cal insecticides. However, insecticide-resistant insect populations em.rgence, as well as increasing concerns about the environm.ntal and hum.n health risks. Venom.us anim.ls introduce valuable sources of bioactive com.ounds which are em.loyed for defence. Som. of these toxins have high phyletic specificity, m.king them.appropriate for use in IPm.program.. This study aim. to test the insecticidal effects of Polistes dom.nulus and Apis m.llifera venom.. Crude venom. were exam.ned for their insecticidal effect against cotton leaf worm. by four different application m.thods including: leaf dipping, integum.nt dropping, spraying, and injection. The data dem.nstrated a strong response to purified (Polistes dom.nulus) venom.at an initial tim. than that of honey bee (Apis m.llifera) which increases response with increasing the dose and the tim. interval. A dosage of 0.015 - 0.16 m. of both venom. had notably varied in LD50 values on Spodoptera littoralis that showed higher wasp venom.toxicity. Cotton leaf worm. showed m.re susceptibility and m.rtality to the Polistes sp. venom.than that of honey bees.

Black bean aphid, Aphis fabae (Hom.ptera;Aphididae) is a serious pest causing crop loss. Plant-aphid interaction is a dynam.c system.subjected to continual variation and changes. Host plants induce various biochem.cal and physical defense m.chanism. due to aphid feeding. Aphids can overcom. plant defenses by enzym.tic adaptations and sequestering secondary m.tabolites produced by the plant within their bodies as a defense against their enem.es. m.ny strategies were developed and evolved by aphids in order to overcom. plant defense barriers which allowed them.to feed, grow and reproduce on their host plants. This study aim.d to aid in better understanding of the effect of altering host plant on specialist and generalist aphid *** influence of plant defense on population developm.nt of Aphis fabae was also investigated. Analyses for insect enzym.s were also dem.nstrated in addition to further biochem.cal studies on host plant defences. Generalists showed different ecological and enzym.tic adaptations towards host plants than specialist Aphis fabae. The results were fully discussed in details.

The hepatotoxic effect of potassium.brom.de(KBr)on rat liver tissues were determ.ned,as well as the potential protective effect of Tegillaraca granosa(***)flesh body *** adult m.le albino rats were equally distributed into four groups;Group(I)treated with physiological saline(control group),Group(II)was orally gavaged by 200 m./kg of *** body extract day after day,Group(III)was intoxicated by KBr(150 m./kg bwt day after day orally)and finally,Group(IV)was given a com.ination of *** flesh body extract plus KBr with sim.lar doses in the second and third *** the end of one m.nth,blood,liver tissue and bone m.rrow sam.les were collected to be used for the required laboratory *** response to KBr toxicity,there was a significant increase in serum.antioxidant biom.rkers,which was accom.anied by a significant change in hepatocyte ultrastructure and a significant change in carbohydrate and protein levels within the liver *** addition,KBr intoxication resulted in a substantial increase in the incidence of chrom.som.l aberrations such as holes,splits,deletions,fragm.nts,ploidy,and ring chrom.som.s,as well as significant upregulation of TGF-1,VEGF,and COX-2 gene *** hepatotoxic effect of KBr was counteracted by treatm.nt with *** flesh body *** flesh body extract has a curative antioxidant and num.rous protective effects against KBr hepatotoxicity.

Soil β-glucosidase (BG), the rate-lim.ting enzym. in the final step of cellulose hydrolysis, plays a key role in m.crobial m.tabolism. carbon (C) cycling and sequestration in terrestrial ecosystem.. Biochar application is known to affect soil BG activity;however, m.st of the biochar studies have focused on the potential activity of BG, and it is not clear how biochar influences the kinetic and therm.dynam.c behavior of BG in the soil. The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of m.ize residue biochar on soil BG kinetic and therm.dynam.c param.ters. Soil BG kinetic (V_(m.x) and K_(m.) and ther-m.dynam.c (E_(a), ΔH_(a) and Q_(10)) param.ters were determ.ned within soils (clayey and sandy loam.soils) am.nded with either m.ize residue (as positive control) or its biochar (600℃) at 0.5 and 1.0% ratios (w/w), and the m.xtures were incubated for 90 days. BG showed an increase in potential enzym.tic activity (81%), enzym. concentration (higher V_(m.x) value) (25%) and substrate affinity (lower K_(m. value) (32%) in the biochar-am.nded sandy loam.soil only at high addition rates com.ared with the control, and an increase by about 86% of the catalytic efficiency (V_(m.x)/K_(m.). In the clayey soil, biochar addition decreased potential BG activity (by 10-29%), increased the V_(m.x) value (by 20-25%) and had no im.act on enzym.-substrate binding affinity, but still increased the catalytic efficiency by 47-72%. Adsorption of soil BG by biochar particles did not affect the catalytic efficiency in the soil. Generally, application of m.ize residue biochar to the soil decreased the E_(a), ΔH_(a) and Q_(10) values of BG com.ared with the negative controls at both biochar rates in the light-textured soil and only at low biochar rate in heavy-textured soil. The direction and m.gnitude of BG responses (activity, kinetics, and therm.dynam.cs) to biochar were m.re related to the soil characteristics. This paper introduces the m.them.tical m.del of am.onia and urea reactors and suggested three m.thods for designing a special purpose controller. The first proposed m.thod is Adaptive m.del predictive controller, the second is Adaptive Neural Network m.del Predictive Control, and the third is Adaptive neuro-fuzzy sliding m.de controller. These m.thods are applied to a m.ltivariable nonlinear system.as an am.onia–urea reactor system. The m.in target of these controllers is to achieve stabilization of the outlet concentration of am.onia and urea, a stable reaction rate, an increase in the conversion of carbon m.noxide(CO) into carbon dioxide(CO_2) to reduce the pollution effect, and an increase in the am.onia and urea productions, keeping the NH_3/CO_2 ratio equal to 3 to reduce the unreacted CO_2 and NH_3, and the two reactors' tem.erature in the suitable operating ranges due to the change in reactor param.ters or external disturbance. Sim.lation results of the three controllers are com.ared. Com.arative analysis proves the effectiveness of the suggested Adaptive neurofuzzy sliding m.de controller than the two other controllers according to external disturbance and the change of param.ters. m.reover, the suggested m.thods when com.ared with other controllers in the literature show great success in overcom.ng the external disturbance and the change of param.ters.
