Teflon-pad shaping process of circular metal blanks into quasi-cup specimens by theoretical and experimental methods

Teflon-pad shaping process of circular metal blanks into quasi-cup specimens is investigated by theoretical and experimental methods in the quasi-static condition. In the experiments, circular metal sheets are formed into the quasi-cup samples by compressing them between a Teflon-filled die and a rigid punch with desirable shape. To investigate influences of different parameters on the forming progress, 12 rigid punches with different dimensions, two blank material types of aluminum and galvanized iron, three blank thicknesses of 0.6, 1.1 and 1.5 mm, and two Teflon-fillers of PVC and polyurethane are used in several experimental tests. In the analytical part, theoretical deformation models of metal blank and Teflon-filler are introduced and based on energy method, energy absorptions by the blank and Teflon-filler are calculated to derive a theoretical formula for predicting total required energy of the forming process. For this purpose, several energy absorption mechanisms are considered in the blank and filler. Furthermore, predictions by theoretical equation are compared with the corresponding experimental tests to study the verity of the calculated formulas. Theoretical and experimental results illustrate change trend of forming energy with respect to blank thickness. Also, the performed forming tests show that when external cone angle of rigid punch with respect to the horizontal direction increases, forming energy increases nonlinearly; and when the depth of spherical part of rigid punch increases, the probability of rupture increases. Additionally, the experiments demonstrate that there is a direct relationship between the forming energy and flow stress of the blanks. Furthermore, experimental observations illustrate that forming energy of a certain blank with PVC Teflon-filler is higher than that of a similar specimen with polyurethane Teflon-filler; but, the probability of wrinkling decreases when PVC Teflon-pad is used as the filler; and it is advantage of

The Effect of 4 Weeks of Strength Training and Beta-Alanine Supplementation on Anaerobic Power and Carnosine Level in Boxer Players

Purpose The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of 4 weeks of strength training with beta-alanine supple-mentation on anaerobic power and carnosine level in boxer *** Eighteen male boxer players participated in this study,randomly divided into two homogeneous groups(strength training+beta-alanine and strength training+placebo groups).The study design was double-blind,parallel,and *** anaerobic Wingate test was performed by athletes before and after the intervention period(4 weeks).Par-ticipants received 0.3 g/kg of body mass of the supplement(maltodextrin or beta-alanine)per day during the *** were also evaluated for anaerobic power,serum level of carnosine,and blood lactate before and after 4 *** Average power in both groups was significantly increased compared with pre-intervention,but fatigue index was significantly decreased only after beta-alanine supplementation;however,there were no significant differences with either average power or fatigue index between the beta-alanine and placebo *** was no significant difference in the interaction between the groups and time,as well as no significant difference between groups for lactic *** level in both groups was significantly increased compared with *** changes in serum carnosine for the two groups were examined,statistical analysis showed a significant difference between the beta-alanine and placebo *** Four weeks of strength training accompanied by beta-alanine supplementation had a likely beneficial effect on boxer players'anaerobic performance and carnosine level.

Implementation of multilayer perceptron(MLP)and radial basis function(RBF)neural networks to predict solution gas-oil ratio of crude oil systems

Exact determination of pressure-volume-temperature(PVT)properties of the reservoir oils is necessary for reservoir calculations,reservoir performance prediction,and the design of optimal production *** objective of this study is to develop intelligent and reliable models based on multilayer perceptron(MLP)and radial basis function(RBF)neural networks for estimating the solution gas–oil ratio as a function of bubble point pressure,reservoir temperature,oil gravity(API),and gas specific *** models were developed and tested using a total of 710 experimental data sets representing the samples of crude oil from various geographical locations around the *** of the developed MLP and RBF models were evaluated and investigated against a number of well-known empirical correlations using statistical and graphical error *** results indicated that the proposed models outperform the considered empirical correlations,providing a strong agreement between predicted and experimental values,However,the developed RBF exhibited higher accuracy and efficiency compared to the proposed MLP model.

Cytoskeletal changes in diseases of the nervous system

The neuronal cytoskeleton not only provides the structural backbone of neurons, but also plays a fundamental role in maintaining neuronal functions. Dysregulation of neuronal architecture is evident in both injury and diseases of the central nervous system. These changes often result in the disruption of protein trafficking, loss of synapses and the death of neurons, ultimately impacting on signal transmission and manifesting in the disease phenotype. Furthermore, mutations in cytoskeletal proteins have been implicated in numerous diseases and, in some cases, identified as the cause of the disease, highlighting the critical role of the cytoskeleton in disease pathology. This review focuses on the role of cytoskeletal proteins in the pathology of mental disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and motor function deficits. In particular, we illustrate how cytoskeletal proteins can be directly linked to disease pathology and progression.

Unweighted Voting Method to Detect Sinkhole Attack in RPL-Based Internet of Things Networks

The Internet of Things(IoT)consists of interconnected smart devices communicating and collecting *** Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks(RPL)is the standard protocol for Internet Protocol Version 6(IPv6)in the ***,RPL is vulnerable to various attacks,including the sinkhole attack,which disrupts the network by manipulating routing *** paper proposes the Unweighted Voting Method(UVM)for sinkhole node identification,utilizing three key behavioral indicators:DODAG Information Object(DIO)Transaction Frequency,Rank Harmony,and Power *** indicators have been carefully selected based on their contribution to sinkhole attack detection and other relevant features used in previous *** UVM method employs an unweighted voting mechanism,where each voter or rule holds equal weight in detecting the presence of a sinkhole attack based on the proposed *** effectiveness of the UVM method is evaluated using the COOJA simulator and compared with existing ***,the proposed approach fulfills power consumption requirements for constrained nodes without increasing consumption due to the deployment *** terms of detection accuracy,simulation results demonstrate a high detection rate ranging from 90%to 100%,with a low false-positive rate of 0%to 0.2%.Consequently,the proposed approach surpasses Ensemble Learning Intrusion Detection Systems by leveraging three indicators and three supporting rules.

Development of an artificial neural network model for prediction of bubble point pressure of crude oils

Bubble point pressure is one of the most important pressureevolumeetemperature properties of crude oil,and it plays an important role in reservoir and production engineering *** can be precisely determined ***,experimental methods present valid and reliable results,they are expensive,time-consuming,and require much care when taking test *** equations of state and empirical correlations can be used as alternative methods to estimate reservoir fluid properties(e.g.,bubble point pressure);however,these methods have a number of *** the present study,a novel numerical model based on artificial neural network(ANN)is proposed for the prediction of bubble point pressure as a function of solution gaseoil ratio,reservoir temperature,oil gravity(API),and gas specific gravity in petroleum *** model was developed and evaluated using 760 experimental data sets gathered from oil fields around the *** optimization process was performed on networks with different *** on the obtained results,a network with one hidden layer and six neurons was observed to be associated with the highest efficiency for predicting bubble point *** obtained ANN model was found to be reliable for the prediction of bubble point pressure of crude oils with solution gaseoil ratios in the range of 8.61e3298.66 SCF/STB,temperatures between 74 and 341.6F,oil gravity values of 6e56.8 API and gas gravity values between 0.521 and *** performance of the developed model was compared against those of several well-known predictive empirical correlations using statistical and graphical error *** results showed that the proposed ANN model outperforms all of the studied empirical correlations significantly and provides predictions in acceptable agreement with experimental data.

Metal confinement catalyst Mo S_(2)/Pt@TD-6%Ti(TD,TS-1/Dendritic mesoporous silica nanoparticles composite) in dendritic hierarchical pore structures was synthesized and showed excellent sulfur-resistance performance and stabilities in catalytic hydrodesulfurization reactions of probe sulfide *** Mo S_(2)/Pt@TD-6%Ti catalyst combines the concepts of Pt-confinement effect and hydrogen spillover of Pt noble *** modified micropores of Mo/Pt@TD-6%Ti only allow the migration and dissociation of small H_(2) molecules(0.289 nm),and effectively keep the sulfur-containing compounds(e.g.H_(2)S,0.362 nm) ***,the Mo S_(2)/Pt@TD-6%Ti catalyst exhibits higher DBT and 4,6-DMDBT HDS activities because of the synergistic effect of the strong H_(2) dissociation ability of Pt and desulfurization ability of Mo S_(2) with a lower catalyst *** new concept combining H2dissociation performance of noble metal catalyst with the desulfurization ability of transition metal sulfide Mo S_(2) can protect the noble metal catalyst avoiding deactivation and poison,and finally guarantee the higher activities for DBT and 4,6-DMDBT HDS.

Measurement and Spatial Distribution of Urban Land Use Compactness in Chaoyang District of Beijing,China

China is in the process of rapid urbanization,and wise land use is critical to the long-term sustainability of Chinese *** of a compact city is typically believed to be helpful for sustainable land use ***,given the fact that Chinese cities are characterized by high population densities,the applicability of a more compact solution to expand cities in China remains questionable;there is little evidence to support the many claims in its *** seeking to provide empirical data to explore the application of compact city theory in China,one of the key problems researchers face is the task of measuring the urban compactness,in order to objectively investigate the current characteristics of urban *** meet this need,indices were developed for measuring the urban land use compactness,by which the spatial distribution characteristics of urban land use compactness were identified and applied to the Chaoyang District of *** conclusions can be made as follows:(1) comprehensive land use compactness in Chaoyang District has increased during the period of 2001-2007,especially the population density;(2) the spatial distribution of land use compactness has the characteristics of a ring structure,which shows a decreasing trend with its distance to the city center;(3) there is a strong positive correlation between urban land use compactness and *** better the location is,the higher the land use compactness is.
