Background: Endoscopic procedures are frequently performed to rule out any disease process which eventuates with either a positive or negative outcome. Association of patient demographics, clinical features with endoscopic outcomes are of paramount importance for better understanding and practice of endoscopy. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the frequency of positive endoscopic findings in patients with gastrointestinal symptoms compared to those with negative findings. As a secondary objective, the association between relevant demographics, symptoms, laboratory investigations and procedural outcomes of the participants and positive endoscopic findings were also assessed. Methods: A retrospective analysis of all the patients who underwent esophagogastroduodenoscopy from January 2017 to December 2017 was conducted. A total of 1066 endoscopy records were retrieved and using a convenience sampling technique, relevant data were manually entered to the questionnaires. Records with incomplete or inconsistent data were disregarded as per the exclusion criteria, resulting in 1011 patient records ultimately utilized for the study. All data were entered and analyzed using IBM SPSS 23.0. Results: The study comprised a total of 1011 patients where 52.2% were females and 47.8% males while the mean age of patients was 42.16 ± 15.45. Positive endoscopic findings were observed in 88.1%, where the most common finding was gastritis (49.1%). Approximately 14.5% had positive investigation findings for HBsAg and 23.1% were seropositive for anti-HCV antibody. P-values statistically significant were for age (p = 0.044), hematemesis (p = 0.002), betel quid addiction (p = 0.044), anti-HCV antibody (p = 0.043), HCV-RNA (p = 0.041) and “H. pylori” antigen (p = 0.032). Conclusion: Both genders were almost equally included where most patients presented between the 3rd and 5th decades of life. A high incidence of gastritis was noted. This article describes the potential of KMnO4 for oxidation of the thiazine dye(Toluidine blue TB)in an acidic *** effect of different operational parameters like initial concentration of dye,potassium permanganate,pH,ionic strength,catalyst,acids and temperature were investigated spectrophotometrically at λ_(max)=613 *** results showed a complete removal of the TB with mineralization of the dye *** and complete decoloration was observed in the presence of monobasic acid(HCl)as compared to the H_(2)SO_(4) where little color removal was *** was found to be an effective catalyst in oxidation for complete and fast decolorization with *** significant change at elevated temperatures showed that an intermediate complex degraded with slight change in the ***/visible spectrophotometry and GC mass analysis showed an intermediate activated complex demethylated sulophooxide of TB which later on degraded into smaller fragments.

This paper is based on the results of an ethnomedicinal research work conducted in the semi-tribal mountainous area lying between District Mianwali (PunjabProvince) and District Karak (KhyberPakhtunkhwaProvince),Pakistanduring June 2009-July 2011. During field survey, questionnaires were used to interview the local inhabitants of the area. The ethnomedicinal data consists of 131 plant species (2 Pteridophytes, 7 Monocots, 122 Dicots) belonging to 48 families (2 Pteridophytes, 4 Monocots, 42 Dicots). The most commonly represented families were Amaranthaceae (9 spp.), Mimosaceae (8 spp.), Asteraceae and Papilionaceae (7 spp.) each;Solanaceae, Euphorbiaceae and Scrophulariaceae (6 spp.) each, followed by Boraginaceae, Brassicaceae, Lamiaceae and Polygonaceae (5 spp.) each. Plant specimens were identified, preserved and vouchers were deposited in the Plant Taxonomy Lab. of Department of Biological Sciences,University of Sargodha,Pakistanfor future reference. The data collected through interviews with the local people indicates that these species are mostly used in respiratory tract infections (RTI), urinary tract infections (UTI), digestive disorders, sexual problems, skin diseases, liver ailments, wound healing, blood vomiting, malaria, piles, epilepsy, jaundice, gummosis, round worms, hepatitis etc. in the area. Due to lack of scientific approach regarding harvesting and utilization of this valuable medicinal flora, many plants are quickly going towards extinction;therefore, further work is needed to create awareness in the community conservation of the precious medicinal plants.

由于计算机科学技术的飞速发展,使得网络越来越复杂和多样化,这给网络和信息系统的安全管理带来了新的挑战。单一使用“检测”、“容忍”网络和信息技术难以保证网络在无干扰状态下运行。为了尽可能减少网络攻击所产生的危害,提出了一种技术策略,可以帮助网络管理人员掌握当前网络的安全状况,了解安全态势的未来演变趋势,并且及时地进行响应,确保系统的可靠性和可生存性。网络安全的概念逐渐引起了研究者的兴趣,他们希望用它来解决上述需求。然而,对网络安全生存性和入侵容忍性的研究仍处于探索阶段,构建安全、使系统能够容忍细微攻击、保证数据完整性的服务器正变得越来越难以实现。为了捕捉生存性的本质,我们必须首先考虑,入侵实际上是一个恶意的故障,它有两个根本原因:一是弱点、缺陷、漏洞,二是恶意攻击或者企图利用前者的行为。因此在本文中,许多威胁和问题已经被概述和评估为一组操作系统和应用,入侵容忍、恢复(自恢复)方法通常是在不断演变的威胁下提高系统可靠性和安全性的唯一可行方法。“入侵预测”、“入侵检测”、“攻击抵抗”和“系统恢复”是保护信息系统的主要技术。本文提出了针对Web服务和其他攻击手段的生存方法。初步的研究表明,所提出的方法可以提高系统的性能,并提高入侵过程中诊断和减少服务不可用的能力,因为生存性是指即使在危急情况下并且存在入侵或攻击时也能及时完成任务的一种方法。这种防御机制侧重于检测、预防、容忍和响应、攻击症状以及入侵效应的诊断,以便只有在攻击成功时才执行适当的反应。本文对生存性技术的研究重点在于即使在系统部分受损的情况下仍能提供一个良好的服务水平。本研究的前提是,系统的体系结构能够保证入侵容忍并满足用户的要求。总体而言,本文主要阐述了可生存性研究的关键问题及其技术。
