Sesame production is important in agriculture,food industry,and the crop diversity due to its rich nutritional profile and health *** its significant value,sesame is still an orphan crop that has received little scientific attention,resulting in low yield compared to other major oilseed *** review offers a comprehensive overview of the present state of production,knowledge,and research advancements concerning Sesamum indicum on a global *** FAOSTAT database was extensively used to examine the global trends from 1961 to *** the past 60 years,global sesame production has substantially increased,with Asia and Africa being the primary *** integration of omics technologies and biotechnological interventions has revolutionized our understanding of the genetic basis of sesame,enhanced productivity,invigorated stress resilience,and improved seed ***-throughput sequencing methods such as RNA-seq,RAD-seq,SLAF-seq,and GBS technology are used in various studies,linkage mapping,and identification of trait-associated *** linkage maps,and multi-omics studies such as genomics,proteomics,transcriptomics,and metabolomics have been employed in sesame research for gene and QTL *** and metabolic pathways related to oil content,yield,and stress tolerance were *** and QTLs related to yield and its components,drought,salt,and osmotic stress tolerance were *** genes associated with capsule shattering and seed shattering were recently *** more achievement in sesame,it is important to enhance sesame production efficiency through mechanization,advanced agricultural practices,and knowledge dissemination to *** and multi-omics integration should be particularly *** advancements in sesame production present a significant and promising opportunity for farmers,governments,and stakeholders in the agricultural sector.

Addressing issues of agricultural sustainability and vulnerability to poverty under climate change are major challenges to development in the 21st *** for the trade-off and synergies between off-farm work participation and sustainable land management on one hand,and vulnerability to poverty on the other hand,will therefore be useful to *** this study,we use recent farm household data from Ghana to examine the effect of off-farm work participation on intensity of adoption of sustainable land management (SLM) practices and impact of off-farm work participation on vulnerability to *** employed a bivariate Tobit model to examine the determinants of SLM adoption intensity,and endogenous switching probit model to assess the impact of off-farm work participation on vulnerability to *** results reveal that participation in off-farm is positively and significantly associated with adoption intensity of bunds,and organic *** results also show that off-farm work participation significantly reduces household vulnerability to poverty by 13%.Based on these findings,we conclude that rural development through non-farm work opportunities can lead to positive synergies between sustainable agricultural production,off-farm employment and poverty alleviation.

Subvolcanic Rock Petroleum System Potential in the South Malang Region, East Java, Indonesia

The South Malang Region is located in the south-eastern part of the Southern Mountain Volcanic Arc;it presents different opportunities for hydrocarbon exploration. The stratigraphy of the study area from old to young consists of Oligocene Volcanic rocks (Mandalika, Watupatok, and Arjosari Formation), Early Miocene Carbonates (Campurdarat and Jaten Formation), Middle Miocene Volcanic (Wuni Formation), Late Miocene-Pliocene Carbonates (Nampol, Oyo, and Wonosari Formation), and Holocene alluvial deposits (Kalipucang Formation). The dominance of volcanic rocks makes this area considered an area without hydrocarbon play prospects. Petroleum system potential is revealed by evaluating and analyzing potential source rock and reservoir rock outcrop samples. The study shows that the Nampol Formation can be considered as a gas-prone source rock, with type III kerogen, total organic content ranging from 3.48 - 26.18 wt%, and possess the potential to produce good to very good hydrocarbons and a hydrogen index ranging from 43 to 86 mgHC/g TOC. Furthermore, rock core analysis and petrographic studies were carried out on the Nampol sandstone where the rock samples showed good reservoir properties. However, the Nampol and Wonosari limestone that was considered as the secondary target for reservoir possesses a low quality of reservoir properties. This study shows that there is a potential for petroleum system existence in the Southern Mountain subvolcanic arc, which is indicated by the presence of source rock and potential reservoir rock as one of the various elements and processes present in a petroleum system.

A resource recovery from waste material is an important topic. Microbial fuel cell (MFC) is getting interest nowadays due to its superiority to generate electricity from a wide range of substrates by utilizing organic wastes. This study was aimed to investigate the potential electricity generation by utilizing animal dung and leaf mold as a very prospective substrate for bioelectricity generation using MFC. MFC as a direct current source (DC), in this experiment we focus to prove the potential difference (voltage) generated by the material. The best result is 10980 ± 11.32 mV/m2 for a mixed sample of Test V (leaf mold and soil), while for the pure samples showed at 10880 ± 4.784 mV/m2 for Test IV (chicken dropping). The advancements in this environmentally friendly study have expanded that cow dung, chicken droppings and leaf mold as a variety of organic wastes which contains large amounts of nutrients and various other minerals, as a microbial fuel cell proved to generate sustainable green and safe electricity moreover as an efficient, eco-friendly solution for organic waste management.

PAPR Reduction Based on Proposed Rotating Phase Shift Technique in MC-CDMA Using FPGA

FPGA implementation used of Rotating phase shift (RPS) for peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) reduction in Multi Carrier Code Division Multiple Access (MC-CDMA) signals. Because, MC-CDMA is still suffering from PAPR which is a major drawback in most of the multi carrier communication systems. In addition, the implementation of the system in an FPGA becomes more flexible and scalable. It eliminates the search for optimum phase factors from a given set, which manifests improved PAPR at reduced computational complexity as compared to conventional PTS and SLM. The amplitude of the signal is reduced by rotating each of the partially transmitted sequence anticlockwise by a π/2 degree and the peak power is reduced by circularly shifting the quadrature component of the partially transmitted sequence after phase rotation. A brief description of PTS, SLM is compared with the RPS, which best reduces PAPR from PTS and SLM. It is also presented that VHDL code of the RPS is designed by Xilinx ISE 14.1 implements of FPGA. The peak-to-average power ratio performance of the proposed method has been investigated.

Pregnancy and peripartum period leads to Virchow’s triad (hypercoagulability, venous stasis and vascular injury) thereby increasing the risk of thromboembolism by many folds in these patients. Accurate diagnosis of peripartum pulmonary embolism is pertinent for reducing morbidity and mortality. Accurate diagnosis is also vital for avoiding the adverse effects of unwanted anticoagulation in pregnant mother and fetus in a patient wrongly diagnosed with this condition. Computerized tomographic pulmonary angiography has a high specificity and sensitivity in comparison to ventilation/perfusion scan for diagnosis of peripartum pulmonary embolism (PPE). It has a lower fetal radiation exposure and aids in arriving at an alternative diagnosis, if PPE is absent. Low molecular weight heparin is the medication of choice in the treatment of peripartum pulmonary embolism. Thrombolysis is considered in patients with massive PPE and hemodynamic instability, refractory hypoxia or right ventricular dysfunction. Regional anesthesia/analgesia can be given safely in these patients. We report two cases of PPE and review the anesthetic and surgical consideration.

Background: Hereditary spastic paraplegia (HSP) are classified clinically as pure when progressive spasticity occurs in isolation or complicated when other neurologic abnormalities are present. At least 22 genetic loci have been linked to HSP, 8 of which are autosomal recessive (ARHSP). HSP complicated with the presence of thin corpus callosum (HSP-TCC) is a common subtype of HSP. One genetic locus has been identified on chromosome 15q13-q15 (SPG11) for HSP-TCC, but some HSP-TCC families have not been linked to this locus. Methods: The authors characterized two families clinically and radiologically and performed a genome-wide scan and linkage analysis. Results: The two families had complicated ARHSP. The affected individuals in Family A had thin corpus callosum and mental retardation, whereas in Family B two of three affected individuals had epilepsy. In both families linkage analysis identified a locus on chromosome 8 between markers D8S1820 and D8S532 with the highest combined lod score of 7.077 at marker D8S505. This 9 cM interval located on 8p12-p11.21 represents a new locus for ARHSP-TCC. Neuregulin and KIF13B genes, located within this interval, are interesting functional candidate genes for this HSP form. Conclusion: Two consanguineous families with complicated autosomal recessive hereditary spastic paraplegia were clinically characterized and genetically mapped to a new locus on 8p12-p11.21.
