Minimal hepatic encephalopathy(MHE) is a frequent neurological and psychiatric complication of liver cirrhosis. The precise pathogenesis of MHE is complicated and has yet to be fully elucidated. Studies in cirrhotic patients and experimental animals with MHE have indicated that gut microbiota dysbiosis induces systemic inflammation, hyperammonemia, and endotoxemia, subsequently leading to neuroinflammation in the brain via the gut-liver-brain axis. Related mechanisms initiated by gut microbiota dysbiosis have significant roles in MHE pathogenesis. The currently available therapeutic strategies for MHE in clinical practice, including lactulose, rifaximin, probiotics, synbiotics, and fecal microbiota transplantation, exert their effects mainly by modulating gut microbiota dysbiosis. Microbiome therapies for MHE have shown promised efficacy and safety;however, several controversies and challenges regarding their clinical use deserve to be intensively discussed. We have summarized the latest research findings concerning the roles of gut microbiota dysbiosis in the pathogenesis of MHE via the gut-liver-brain axis as well as the potential mechanisms by which microbiome therapies regulate gut microbiota dysbiosis in MHE patients.

Let H be a Hopf π-coalgebra over a commutative ring k with bijective antipode S, and A and B right π-H-comodulelike algebras. We show that the pair of adjoint functors （F3 = A  Bop A□ HBop -,G3 = （-）coH） between the categories A□HBopM and AMπB-H is a pair of inverse equivalences, when A is a faithfully flat π-H-Galois extension. Furthermore, the categories Moritaπ-H（A,B） and Morita □π-H（AcoH,BcoH） are equivalent, if A and B are faithfully flat π-H-Galois extensions.

The muscularization of non-muscular pulmonary arterioles is an important pathological featureof hypoxic pulmonary vascular ***,the origin of the cells involved in this process is stillnot well *** present study was undertaken to test the hypothesis that transforming growthfactor-β1 (TGF-β1) can induce transdifferentiation of fibroblasts into myofibroblasts,which might play akey role in the muscularization of non-muscular pulmonary *** was found that mean pulmonaryarterial pressure increased significantly after 7 d of *** artery remodeling index and rightventricular hypertrophy became evident after 14 d of *** distribution of nonmuscular,partiallymuscular,and muscular vessels was significantly different after 7 d of *** demonstrated that the expression of co-smooth muscle actin was increased in intra-acinar pulmonaryarteries with increasing hypoxic ***-β1 mRNA expression in pulmonary arterial walls was increasedsignificantly after 14 d of hypoxia,but showed no obvious changes after 3 or 7 d of *** pulmonarytunica adventitia and tunica media,TGF-β1 protein staining was poorly positive in control rats,but wasmarkedly enhanced after 3 d of hypoxia,reaching its peak after 7 d Of *** myofibroblast phenotypewas confirmed by electron microscopy,which revealed microfilaments and a well-developed rough endo-plasmic *** together,our results suggested that TGF-β1 induces transdifferentiation of fibro-blasts into myofibroblasts,which is important in hypoxic pulmonary vascular remodeling.

Supramolecular polymers,as a type of dynamic polymers,are subordinate to the interdisciplinary field of polymer chemistry and supramolecular chemistry,whose development has greatly promoted the prosperity of new ***,molecular weight is one of the most important parameters of supramolecular polymers,which affects the physical/chemical properties and processing applications of *** new methods for characterizing the molecular weight of supramolecular polymers is crucial for advancing the development of supramolecular *** this review,we elaborate and summarize three strategies for characterizing the molecular weight of supramolecular polymers that recently reported by our research group according to the characteristics of supramolecular polymers,including(1)the molecular weight distinction corresponding to variable fluorescence colors,(2)matching different molecular weights with different fluorescence lifetime,(3)transforming supramolecular polymers into mechanically interlocked polymers or covalent ***,we also discuss the limitations of current methods for characterizing supramolecular *** hope that this review can promote the development of supramolecular polymers and significantly inspire to exploit new methods to characterizing molecular weight of supramolecular polymers.

Viscous dampers are widely used as passive energy dissipation devices for long-span cable-stayed bridges for mitigation of seismic load-induced ***,complicated finite element(FE)modeling,together with repetitive and computationally intensive nonlinear time-history analyses(NTHAs)are generally required in conventional design *** streamline the preliminary design process,this paper developed a simplified longitudinal double degree of freedom model(DDFM)for single and symmetric twin-tower cable-stayed *** on the proposed simplified longitudinal DDFM,the analytical equations for the relevant mass-and stiffness-related parameters and longitudinal natural frequencies of the structure were derived by using analytical and energy *** of the relationship between the nonlinear viscous damper parameters and the equivalent damping ratio was achieved through the equivalent linearization ***,the analytical equations of longitudinal seismic responses for long-span cable-stayed bridges with nonlinear viscous dampers were *** on the developed simplified DDFM and suggested analytical equations,this paper proposed a simplified calculation framework to achieve a simplified design method of nonlinear viscous damper ***,the effectiveness and applicability of the developed simplified longitudinal DDFM and the proposed calculation framework were further validated through numerical analysis of a practical cable-stayed ***,the results indicated the following.1)For the obtained fundamental period and longitudinal stiffness,the differences between results of the simplified longitudinal DDFM and numerical analysis were only 2.05%and 1.5%,respectively.2)Relative calculation errors of the longitudinal girder-end displacement and bending moment of the bottom tower section of the bridge obtained from the simplified longitudinal DDFM were limited to less than 25%.3)The equivalent damping ratio of nonline

Bacterial meningitis is a serious and potentially life-threatening infection that affects the protective layers surrounding the brain and spinal cord,known as the *** types of bacteria,including Streptococcus pneumoniae,Neisseria meningitidis,and Haemophilus influenzae,can cause this *** populations,such as infants,children,immunocompromised adults,and the elderly,are particularly vulnerable to these *** of bacterial meningitis can manifest suddenly and may include high fever,severe and persistent headache,stiff neck,vomiting,sensitivity to light,and confusion or changes in mental state[1,2].Identifying these symptoms in infants can be more challenging and may lead to long-term disability or death[3].Despite the effectiveness of vaccines,it is crucial to understand how bacteria invade the brain and how our innate immune system responds to infection(Fig.1).

In this research,a method employing micro-extrusion was designed to produce the micro-scaled barrel-shaped parts with complex geometrical features to study the feasibility of the proposed microforming method and its grain size effect on the formability of the complicated internal features in terms of deformation behavior,material evolution,accuracy of dimensions and final components *** results reveal that the deformation behavior is highly affected by grain size and becomes unpredictable with increased grain *** addition,assembly parameters including feature dimension,tolerance and coaxiality also vary with grain size,and the variation of grain size needs to be accommodated by different assembly types,viz.,clearance fit or transition *** the microstructural evolution aspect,it was identified there were two dead zones and four shear bands,and the formation of these deformation zones was barely affected by the variation in grain *** bulges,cracks,and fracture induced voids were observed on the surface of the final components,tailoring the microstructure of the working material with finer grains could significantly avoid these *** study advances the understanding of forming microparts by extrusion processes and provides guidance for microforming of similar microparts.

Digested wastewater contains pathogenic microorganisms and high ammonia concentrations,which can pose a potential risk to public *** removal of pathogens and nitrogen is crucial for the post-treatment of digested *** nitrification-anammox is an energy-saving nitrogen removal *** nitrous acid(FNA),an intermediate product of partial nitrification,has the potential to inactivate ***,the efficiency and mechanisms of FNA-related inactivation in pathogens during partial nitrification remains *** this study,Enterococcus and Escherichia coli(***)were selected to investigate the efficiency and mechanisms of FNA-related inactivation in partial nitrification *** results revealed that 83%±13%and 59%±27%of *** and Enterococcus were removed,respectively,in partial nitrification process at FNA concentrations of 0.023−0.028 mg/*** the concentration of FNA increased from 0 to 0.5 mg/L,the inactivation efficiencies of *** and Enterococcus increased from 0 to 99.9%and 89.9%,*** exhibited a higher resistance to FNA attack compared to ***.3D-laser scanning microscopy(3D-LSM)and scanning electron microscopy(SEM)revealed that FNA exposure caused the surface collapse of *** and Enterococcus,as well as visible pore formation on the surface of *** cells.4',6-Diamidino-2-phenylindole dihydrochloride n-hydrate(DAPI)/propidium iodide(PI)and biomolecule leakage confirmed that inactivation of *** and Enterococcus occurred due to breakdown of cell walls and cell *** findings indicate that partial nitrification process can be used for the removal of residual pathogenic microorganisms.
