Uterine tumor resembling an ovarian sex cord tumor:A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Endometrial stromal tumors originate from the endometrial stroma and account for<2%of all uterine *** tumor resembling an ovarian sex cord tumor(UTROSCT)is a rare histological class of endometrial stromal and related tumors according to the latest World Health Organization classification of female genital ***,we report a case of UTROSCT in a 51-year-old *** SUMMARY A 51-year-old woman had irregular menses for 6 *** patient visited a local hospital for vaginal *** computed tomography(CT)showed a mass in the pelvic *** days later,she came to our hospital for further *** results of contrast-enhanced CT and pelvic ultrasound at our hospital suggested a malignant pelvic *** then underwent total removal of the uterus with bilateral *** histological examination showed that the tumor cells had abundant cytoplasm,ovoid and spindle-shaped nuclei,fine chromatin,a high nucleoplasm ratio,and a lamellar *** findings were consistent with UTROSCT,and the results of immunohistochemical analysis supported that *** tumor was International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics stage *** adjuvant therapy was administered after radical *** patient was followed up for 58 mo,and no recurrence was *** We report a case of UTROSCT with abnormal menstruation as a symptom,which is one of the most common *** patients with vaginal bleeding,ultrasonography can be used as a screening test because of its convenience,speed,and lack of radiation *** patients with long-term tamoxifen use,routine monitoring of the endometrium is *** UTROSCT may have low malignant potential,surgery remains the primary management ***,fertility preservation in patients of childbearing age is a vital consideration.

BACKGROUND In the current World Health Organization classification,acinic cell carcinoma(AcCC)of the breast is considered a rare histological subtype of triple-negative breast *** of the few reports in the literature,data concerning clinical outcomes are ***,we report a case of AcCC of the breast in a 48-year-old woman.A 48-year-old woman with a mass in her right breast came to our hospital for further *** and an ultrasound(US)scan showed a mass in the upper inner side of the right *** then underwent surgery to resect the mass in her right *** pathological examination revealed that the tumor had abundant acinar-like structures formed by tumor cells with prominent eosinophilic granules in the cytoplasm,consistent with acinar cell *** results of immunohistochemical analysis supported the diagnosis of breast acinar cell *** months later,she underwent breast-conserving surgery and sentinel lymph node *** pTNM stage was *** surgery,the patient received 30 radiotherapy *** patient was followed up for a period of one year,and no recurrence was *** of the breast is a rare type of malignant *** it is usually asym-ptomatic and can be detected by imaging studies,routine breast US or mamm-ograms are ***,there are no characteristic diagnostic imaging findings or clinical manifestations,so immunohistochemical examination is critical for an accurate diagnosis of AcCC of the breast.

Limb remote ischemic postconditioning protects integrity of the blood-brain barrier after stroke

Bis(7)-Tacrine, a Promising Anti-Alzheimer's Agent,Attenuates Glutamate-Induced Cell Injury in Primary Cultured Cerebrocortical Neurons of Rats

The effects of bis(7) tacrine, a novel dimeric acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor, on glutamate induced cell injury were investigated in primary cerebral cortical neurons of rats. Exposure of cultured neurons (12 days after plating) to 0.5 mmol/L glutamate for 30 min resulted in significant cell damage. Pretreatment with bis(7) tacrine (0.03 1.0 μmol/L) reduced the glutamate induced neurotoxicity in a concentration dependent manner and the maximal response was seen at 1 μmol/L with approximately 30% protection. A receptor binding assay showed that bis(7) tacrine can completely displace MK 801 binding to rat cortical membrane with an IC 50 of 0.57 μmol/L. These findings suggest that bis(7) tacrine can directly interact with N methyl D aspartate receptor channel complex, which may contribute to the inhibitor's protective effects against glutamate induced excitotoxicity. Thus, it is possible that anti glutamate/anti AChE synergism is responsible for potentially better Alzheimer's therapy of bis(7) tacrine relative to tacrine.

Machine learning-assisted ensemble analysis for the prediction of urinary tract infection in elderly patients with ovarian cancer after cytoreductive surgery

Aqueous zinc-ion batteries （AZIBs） are fundamentally challenged by the instability of the electrode/electrolyte interface,predominantly due to irreversible zinc （Zn） deposition and hydrogen ***,the intricate mechanisms behind the electrochemical discrepancies induced by interfacial Zn2+-solvation and deposition behavior demand comprehensive *** molecules endowed with special functional groups （such as hydroxyl,carboxyl,etc.） have the potential to significantly optimize the solvation structure of Zn2+and regulate the interfacial electric double layer （EDL）.By increasing nucleation overpotential and decreasing interfacial free energy,these functional groups facilitate a lower critical nucleation radius,thereby forming an asymptotic nucleation model to promote uniform Zn ***,this study presents a pioneering approach by introducing trace amounts of n-butanol as solvation regulators to engineer the homogenized Zn （H-Zn） anode with a uniform and dense *** interfacial reaction and structure evolution are explored by in/ex-situ experimental techniques,indicating that the H-Zn anode exhibits dendrite-free growth,no by-products,and weak hydrogen evolution,in sharp contrast to the bare ***,the H-Zn anode achieves a remarkable Zn utilization rate of approximately 20% and simultaneously sustains a prolonged cycle life exceeding 500 ***,the H-Zn//NH4V4O10（NVO） full battery showcases exceptional cycle stability,retaining 95.04%capacity retention after 400 cycles at a large current density of 5 A *** study enlightens solvation-regulated additives to develop Zn anode with superior utilization efficiency and extended operational lifespan.

In aged patients, acute kidney injury （AKI） is a common clinical complication after percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI）, highlighting the need for timely and certain diagnosis of this disease. A single centre, nested case-control study was conducted, which assessed the usefulness of urinary liver-type fatty acid-binding protein （uL-FABP）, neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin （uNGAL）, and kidney injury molecule-1 （uKIM-1） for early detection of AKI. One hundred and thirty-two patients at or over 60 years old undergoing PCI were included.

Involvement of CDK4, pRB, and E2F1 in ginsenoside Rg1 protecting rat cortical neurons from β-amyloid-induced apoptosis

AIM: To explore the possible mechanism of β-amyloid (Aβ)-induced apoptosis in rat cortical neurons and the protective effect of ginsenoside Rg1. METHODS: AO-EB staining was used to quantify the apoptotic cells. DNA fragmentation was observed by gel electrophoresis. The levels of cyclin-dependent kinases-4 (CDK4) and phosphorylated pRB were detected by Western blot. RT-PCR was used to examine the expression of E2FI mRNA. RESULTS: Treatment with Aβ1-40at the concentration of 20, 40, 80 mg/L for 48 h induced rat cortical neuron poptosis from 12.5％±1.5％(control) to 22.3％±1.4％, 38.8％±1.3％, 36.7％±1.4％, respectively. Pretreatment with Rg1at the dose of 0.5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16 μmol/L for 24 h, then treatment with Aβ1-4040 mg/L for 24 h, the percentage of apoptotic neurons decreased from 38.8％±1.3％ to 14.5％±1.3％, 13.3％±1.0％, 11.6％±0.29％, 11.8％±1.0％, 6.2％±0.8％, 5.8％±0.8％, respectively. A reduction in adult neurogenesis is associated with behavioral abnormalities in patients with Alzheimer's ***,enhancing adult neurogenesis represents a promising therapeutic approach for mitigating disease symptoms and ***,nonpharmacological interventions aimed at inducing adult neurogenesis are currently *** individual non-pharmacological interventions,such as aerobic exercise,acousto-optic stimulation,and olfactory stimulation,have shown limited capacity to improve neurogenesis and cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer's disease,the therapeutic effect of a strategy that combines these interventions has not been fully *** this study,we observed an age-dependent decrease in adult neurogenesis and a concurrent increase in amyloid-beta accumulation in the hippocampus of amyloid precursor protein/presenilin 1 mice aged 2-8 *** deposition became evident at 4 months,while neurogenesis declined by 6 months,further deteriorating as the disease ***,following a 4-week multifactor stimulation protocol,which encompassed treadmill running(46 min/d,10 m/min,6 days per week),40 Hz acousto-optic stimulation(1 hour/day,6 days/week),and olfactory stimulation(1 hour/day,6 days/week),we found a significant increase in the number of newborn cells(5'-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine-positive cells),immature neurons(doublecortin-positive cells),newborn immature neurons(5'-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine-positive/doublecortin-positive cells),and newborn astrocytes(5'-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine-positive/glial fibrillary acidic protein-positive cells).Additionally,the amyloid-beta load in the hippocampus *** findings suggest that multifactor stimulation can enhance adult hippocampal neurogenesis and mitigate amyloid-beta neuropathology in amyloid precursor protein/presenilin 1 ***,cognitive abilities were improved,and depressive symptoms were alleviated in amyloid precursor protein/presenilin 1 mice
