Sb-based materials with high specific capacity have targeted as an alternative anode material for alkali metal ion batteries.Herein,Sb nanoparticles embedded in hollow porous N-doped carbon nanotubes(Sb@N-C nanotubes)are used as freestanding anode for Li-ion batteries(LIBs)and K-ion batteries(PIBs).The Sb@N-C nanotubes demonstrate exceptional reversible capacity of643 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.1 A·g^(-1)with long cycle stability,as well as outstanding rate performance(219.6 mAh·g^(-1)at10 A·g^(-1))in LIBs.As the anode material of PIBs,they reveal impressive capacity of 325.4 mAh·g^(-1)at 0.1 A·g^(-1).The superior electrochemical properties mainly originate from the novel structure.To be specific,the obtained 3D connected network allows for quick ion and electron migration,and prevents the aggregation of Sb nanoparticles.The hollow porous nanotubes can not only accommodate the volume expansion of Sb nanoparticles during cycling,but also facilitate the infiltration of the electrolyte and reduce the ion diffusion length.This work provides a new insight for designing advanced Sb-based anodes for alkali metal ion batteries.

The ammonium exceedance discharge from sewage treatment plants has a great risk to the stable operation of subsequent constructed wetlands(CWs).The effects of high ammonium shocks on submerged macrophytes and epiphytic biofilms on the leaves of submerged macrophytes in CWs were rarely mentioned in previous studies.In this paper,the 16S rRNA sequencing method was used to investigate the variation of the microbial communities in biofilms on the leaves of Vallisneria natans plants while the growth characteristics of V.natans plants were measured at different initial ammonium concentrations.The results demonstrated that the total chlorophyll and soluble sugar synthesis of V.natans plants decreased by 51.45%and 57.16%,respectively,and malondialdehyde content increased threefold after8 days if the initial NH_(4)^(+)-N concentration was more than 5 mg/L.Algal density,bacterial quantity,dissolved oxygen,and pH increased with high ammonium shocks.The average removal efficiencies of total nitrogen and NH_(4)^(+)-N reached 73.26%and 83.94%,respectively.The heat map and relative abundance analysis represented that the relative abundances of phyla Proteobacteria,Cyanobacteria,and Bacteroidetes increased.The numbers of autotrophic nitrifiers and heterotrophic nitrification aerobic denitrification(HNAD)bacteria expanded in biofilms.In particular,HNAD bacteria of Flavobacterium,Hydrogenophaga,Acidovorax,Acinetobacter,Pseudomonas,Aeromonas,and Azospira had higher abundances than autotrophic nitrifiers because there were organic matters secreted from declining leaves of V.natans plants.The analysis of the nitrogen metabolic pathway showed aerobic denitrification was the main nitrogen removal pathway.Thus,the nitrification and denitrification bacterial communities increased in epiphytic biofilms on submerged macrophytes in constructed wetlands while submerged macrophytes declined under ammonium shock loading.

Objective Sevoflurane is widely used in pediatric anesthesia and former studies showed that it causes neurodegeneration in the developing brain. The present study was carried out to investigate the effects of sevoflurane on neurogenesis, neurodegeneration and behavior. Methods We administered 5-bromodeoxyuridine, an S-phase marker, before, during, and after 4 h of sevoflurane given to rats on postnatal day 7 to assess dentate gyrus progenitor proliferation and Fluoro-Jade staining for degeneration. Spatial reference memory was tested 2 and 6 weeks after anesthesia. Results Sevoflurane decreased progenitor proliferation and increased cell death until at least 4 days after anesthesia. Spatial reference memory was not affected at 2 weeks but was affected at 6 weeks after sevoflurane administration. Conclusion Sevoflurane reduces neurogenesis and increases the death of progenitor cells in developing brain. This might mediate the lateonset neurocognitive outcome after sevoflurane application.

order to help investors understand the credit status of target corporations and reduce investment risks,the corporate credit rating model has become an important evaluation tool in the financial market.These models are based on statistical learning,machine learning and deep learning especially graph neural networks(GNNs).However,we found that only few models take the hierarchy,heterogeneity or unlabeled data into account in the actual corporate credit rating process.Therefore,we propose a novel framework named hierarchical heterogeneous graph neural networks(HHGNN),which can fully model the hierarchy of corporate features and the heterogeneity of relationships between corporations.In addition,we design an adversarial learning block to make full use of the rich unlabeled samples in the financial data.Extensive experiments conducted on the public-listed corporate rating dataset prove that HHGNN achieves SOTA compared to the baseline methods.

To the Editor:Norepinephrine(NE),which belongs to the catecholamine family,is increasingly produced by the sympathetic nervous system and adrenal medulla when the host is under stress.It has been demonstrated that NE has a significant anti-inflammatory effect.In addition,increasing evidence has indicated that stress hormones are directly involved in the interaction between bacteria and the host.A variety of bacteria can exhibit changes in growth,virulence,and biofilm by high concentrations of NE.Therefore,this article aimed to summarize the main research developments regarding the effects of NE on host immunity and bacterial infection,as well as the attendant molecular mechanisms[Figure 1].

An ultraviolet-infrared(UV-IR)dual-wavelength photodetector(PD)based on a monolayer(ML)graphene/GaN heterostructure has been successfully fabricated in this work.The ML graphene was synthesized by chemical vapor deposition(CVD)and subsequently transferred onto GaN substrate using polymethylmethacrylate(PMMA).The morphological and optical properties of the as-prepared graphene and GaN were presented.The fabricated PD based on the graphene/GaN heterostructure exhibited excellent rectify behavior by measuring the current–voltage(I–V)characteristics under dark conditions,and the spectral response demonstrated that the device revealed an UV-IR dual-wavelength photoresponse.In addition,the energy band structure and absorption properties of the ML graphene/GaN heterostructure were theoretically investigated based on density functional theory(DFT)to explore the underlying physical mechanism of the two-dimensional(2D)/three-dimensional(3D)hybrid heterostructure PD device.This work paves the way for the development of innovative GaNbased dual-wavelength optoelectronic devices,offering a potential strategy for future applications in the field of advanced photodetection technology.

Esophageal cancer(ESC)is a malignant tumor that originates from the mucosal epithelium of the esophagus and is part of the digestive tract.Although the exact pathogenesis of ESC has not been fully elucidated,excessive oxidative stress is an important characteristic that leads to the development of many cancers.Abnormal expression of several proteins and transcription factors contributes to oxidative stress in ESCs,which alters the growth and proliferation of ESCs and promotes their metastasis.Natural compounds,including alkaloids,terpenes,polyphenols,and xanthine compounds,can inhibit reactive oxygen species production in ESCs.These compounds reduce oxidative stress levels and subsequently inhibit the oc-currence and progression of ESC through the regulation of targets and pathways such as the cytokine interleukins 6 and 10,superoxide dismutase,the NF-+ACY-kappa+ADs-B/MAPK pathway,and the mammalian Nrf2/ARE target pathway.Thus,targeting tumor oxidative stress has become a key focus in anti-ESC therapy.This review discusses the potential of Natural products(NPs)for treating ESCs and summarizes the application prospects of oxidative stress as a new target for ESC treatment.The findings of this review provide a reference for drug development targeting ESCs.Nonetheless,further high-quality studies will be necessary to determine the clinical efficacy of these various NPs.

BACKGROUND In China,the prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)among diabetic patients is estimated to be between 90%-95%.Additionally,China is among the 22 countries burdened by a high number of tuberculosis cases,with approximately 4.5 million individuals affected by active tuberculosis.Notably,T2DM poses a significant risk factor for the development of tuberculosis,as evidenced by the increased incidence of T2DM coexisting with pulmonary tuberculosis(T2DMPTB),which has risen from 19.3%to 24.1%.It is evident that these two diseases are intricately interconnected and mutually reinforcing in nature.AIM To elucidate the clinical features of individuals diagnosed with both T2DM and tuberculosis(T2DM-PTB),as well as to investigate the potential risk factors associated with active tuberculosis in patients with T2DM.METHODS T2DM-PTB patients who visited our hospital between January 2020 and January 2023 were selected as the observation group,Simple DM patients presenting to our hospital in the same period were the control group,Controls and case groups were matched 1:2 according to the principle of the same sex,age difference(±3)years and disease duration difference(±5)years,patients were investigated for general demographic characteristics,diabetes-related characteristics,body immune status,lifestyle and behavioral habits,univariate and multivariate analysis of the data using conditional logistic regression,calculate the odds ratio(OR)values and 95%CI of OR values.RESULTS A total of 315 study subjects were included in this study,including 105 subjects in the observation group and 210 subjects in the control group.Comparison of the results of both anthropometric and biochemical measures showed that the constitution index,systolic blood pressure,diastolic blood pressure and lymphocyte count were significantly lower in the case group,while fasting blood glucose and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were significantly higher than those in the control group.The results of univariate analysis showed that poo

Enhancing the stability of supported noble metal catalysts emerges is a major challenge in both science and industry.Herein,a heterogeneous Pd catalyst(Pd/NCF)was prepared by supporting Pd ultrafine metal nanoparticles(NPs)on nitrogen-doped carbon;synthesized by using F127 as a stabilizer,as well as chitosan as a carbon and nitrogen source.The Pd/NCF catalyst was efficient and recyclable for oxidative carbonylation of phenol to diphenyl carbonate,exhibiting higher stability than Pd/NC prepared without F127 addition.The hydrogen bond between chitosan(CTS)and F127 was enhanced by F127,which anchored the N in the free amino group,increasing the N content of the carbon material and ensuring that the support could provide sufficient N sites for the deposition of Pd NPs.This process helped to improve metal dispersion.The increased metal-support interaction,which limits the leaching and coarsening of Pd NPs,improves the stability of the Pd/NCF catalyst.Furthermore,density functional theory calculations indicated that pyridine N stabilized the Pd^(2+)species,significantly inhibiting the loss of Pd^(2+)in Pd/NCF during the reaction process.This work provides a promising avenue towards enhancing the stability of nitrogen-doped carbon-supported metal catalysts.

Sumoylation is an important protein modification discovered recently. SUMO（small ubiquitin-related modifier） pathway regulates the protein stability and transcriptional activity with a 12-kDa small molecular protein, SUMO, ligated to the target protein. The purification of SUMO proteins is a key step to reveal their function. The purpose of this study was to construct the recombinant SUMO1 gene cloned to a pGEX-4T-1 vector to express and purify the SUMO1-GST fusion protein in Escherichia coli. First, the full length DNA sequence of SUMO1 gene was amplified by PCR and was ligated to pMD18-T vector. Then the SUMO1 gene was subcloned to pGEX-4T-1 prokaryotic expression vector between BamHI and XhoI sites, and transformed in Escherichia coli DH5α cells. The right colonies were identified by restrictive enzyme digestion and sequencing. The correct rebombinant plasmid of pGEX-4T-1-SUMO1 was transformed in Escherichia coli BL21 cells and then induced by IPTG（isopropyl- β-D-1- thiogalacto-pyranoside） to express the SUMO1-GST fusion protein. The highly purified SUMO1-GST（glutathione S-transferase） fusion protein was obtained by affinity chromatography. Finally, the properties of SUMO1-GST fusion protein were confirmed by Coomassie brilliant blue strain and Western blot analysis. The recombinant plasmid of pGEX-4T-1-SUMO1 was successfully constructed, and SUMO1-GST fusion proteins were successfully expressed.
