Optical characterization of single-crystal diamond grown by DC arc plasma jet CVD

Optical centers of single-crystal diamond grown by DC arc plasma jet chemical vapor deposition(CVD) were examined using a low-temperature photoluminescence(Pl) technique. The results show that most of the nitrogen-vacancy(NV) complexes are present as NV-centers, although some H2 and H3 centers and B-aggregates are also present in the single-crystal diamond because of nitrogen aggregation resulting from high N_2 incorporation and the high mobility of vacancies under growth temperatures of 950–1000°C. Furthermore, emissions of radiation-induced defects were also detected at 389, 467.5, 550, and 588.6 nm in the Pl spectra. The reason for the formation of these radiation-induced defects is not clear. Although a Ni-based alloy was used during the diamond growth, Ni-related emissions were not detected in the Pl spectra. In addition, the silicon-vacancy(Si-V)-related emission line at 737 nm, which has been observed in the spectra of many previously reported microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition(MPCVD) synthetic diamonds, was absent in the Pl spectra of the single-crystal diamond prepared in this work. The high density of NV-centers, along with the absence of Ni-related defects and Si-V centers, makes the single-crystal diamond grown by DC arc plasma jet CVD a promising material for applications in quantum computing.

The intelligent electronic devices have urgent demands for electromagnetic interference(EMI)shielding films with excellent heat dissipation ***,it is challenging to obtain excellent EMI shielding and thermal conductivity performances ***,inspired by mille-feuille structure,the multifunctional EMI shielding films developed by a layer-by-layer self-assembly and hot-pressing *** ingenious introduction of silver nanoparticles(AgNPs)with large specific surface area and highly conductive into the network formed by TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibrils(TOCNFs)with large aspect ratio to form the TOCNFs/*** the graphene nanoplates(GNPs)with high conductivity loss distributed alternately with TOCNFs/AgNPs to construct mille-feuille structure,which had highly efficient conductive network,complete thermally conduction pathway and rich heterogeneous ***,the designed films presented high electrical conductivity of 8520 S/cm,superb EMI effectiveness(SE)of 98.05 dB,and excellent thermal conductivity of 18.82 W/(m·K).Furthermore,the films possessed outstanding Joule heating performances with low voltages,including high heating temperature(100℃),fast response time(lity and ***,such high-performance EMI shielding films with fascinating thermal conductivity and Joule heating performances have substantial application in flexible electronics,electromagnetic waves shielding and thermal management.

Emerging evidence indicates that sleep deprivation(SD)can lead to Alzheimer’s disease(AD)-related pathological changes and cognitive ***,the underlying mechanisms remain *** the present study,we identified the existence of a microbiota-gut-brain axis in cognitive deficits resulting from chronic SD and revealed a potential pathway by which gut microbiota affects cognitive functioning in chronic *** findings demonstrated that chronic SD in mice not only led to cognitive decline but also induced gut microbiota dysbiosis,elevated NlRP3 inflammasome expression,GSK-3βactivation,autophagy dysfunction,and tau hyperphosphorylation in the *** with the“SD microbiota”replicated the pathological and behavioral abnormalities observed in chronic sleep-deprived ***,both the deletion of NlRP3 in NlRP3-/-mice and specific knockdown of NlRP3 in the hippocampus restored autophagic flux,suppressed tau hyperphosphorylation,and ameliorated cognitive deficits induced by chronic SD,while GSK-3βactivity was not regulated by the NlRP3 inflammasome in chronic ***,deletion of NlRP3 reversed NlRP3 inflammasome activation,autophagy deficits,and tau hyperphosphorylation induced by GSK-3βactivation in primary hippocampal neurons,suggesting that GSK-3β,as a regulator of NlRP3-mediated autophagy dysfunction,plays a significant role in promoting tau ***,gut microbiota dysbiosis was identified as a contributor to chronic SD-induced tau pathology via NlRP3-mediated autophagy dysfunction,ultimately leading to cognitive ***,these findings highlight GSK-3βas a regulator of NlRP3-mediated autophagy dysfunction,playing a critical role in promoting tau hyperphosphorylation.

BACKGROUND Tumor budding(TB)has emerged as a promising independent prognostic biomarker in colorectal cancer(CRC).The prognostic role of TB has been extensively studied and currently affects clinical decision making in patients with stage I and II ***,existing prognostic studies on TB in stage III CRC have been confined to small retrospective cohort ***,this study investigated the correlation among TB categories,clinicopathological features,and prognosis in stage III-IV CRC to further enhance the precision and individualization of treatment through refined prognostic risk *** To analyze the relationship between TB categories and clinicopathological characteristics and assess their prognostic value in stage III-IV CRC to further refine the prognostic risk stratification of stage III-IV *** The clinical data of 547 CRC patients were collected for this retrospective *** at the front edge of the tumor buds was counted according to the 2016 International Tumor Budding Consensus Conference *** Multivariate Cox proportional hazards regression analysis demonstrated that chemotherapy(P=0.004),clinical stage IV(Pl lymph node metastases(P=0.004),left-sided colonic cancer(P=0.040),and Bd 2-3(P=0.002)were independent prognostic factors in patients with stage III-IV ***,the density of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes was higher in Bd 1 than in Bd 2-3,both in the tumor stroma and its invasive *** TB has an independent predictive prognostic value in patients with stage III-IV *** is recommended to complete the TB report of stage III-IV CRC cases in the standardized pathological report to further refine risk stratification.

BACKGROUND The measurement of triceps skinfold(TSF)thickness serves as a noninvasive metric for evaluating subcutaneous fat *** its clinical utility,the TSF thickness trajectories and their correlation with overall mortality have not been thoroughly *** To explore TSF thickness trajectories of Chinese adults and to examine their associations with all-cause *** This study encompassed a cohort of 14747 adults sourced from the China Health and Nutrition *** class trajectory modeling was employed to identify distinct trajectories of TSF *** were classified into subgroups reflective of their respective TSF thickness *** utilized multivariate Cox regression analyses and mediation examinations to explore the link between TSF thickness trajectory and overall mortality,including contributory *** Upon adjustment for multiple confounding factors,we discerned that males in the‘Class 2:Thin-stable’and‘Class 3:Thin-moderate’TSF thickness trajectories exhibited a markedly reduced risk of mortality from all causes in comparison to the‘Class 1:Extremely thin’*** the mediation analyses,the Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index was found to be a partial intermediary in the relationship between TSF thickness trajectories and *** females,a lower TSF thickness pattern was significantly predictive of elevated all-cause mortality risk exclusively within the non-elderly *** In males and non-elderly females,lower TSF thickness trajectories are significantly predictive of heightened mortality risk,independent of single-point TSF thickness,body mass index,and waist circumference.
