Tungsten(W) materials are gaining more and more attention due to the extended applications of metallic systems in the extreme *** W’s unique characteristics like room-temperature brittleness,additive manufacturing(AM)techniques could give them a higher design flexibility and *** the growing focus and thriving development of W-faced AM techniques,since the mechanical performance of additively manufactured W parts is still unsatisfactory,a critical review to further explore the possibilities of combining W and AM processes is urgently *** this review,we systematically explain the fundamentals of AM processes for W *** the traditional classification,we further discuss the widely used AM processes including wire arc additive manufacturing(WAAM),electron beam melting(EBM),laser powder bed fusion(LPBF),laser direct energy deposition(laser DED),and other modified yet emergent AM ***,since additively manufacturing W materials is processing parameter-sensitive,we illustrated the effects of various important processing parameters on the AM process control and final parts’ *** this detailed understanding,various categories of AM-compatible W materials(i.e.,pure W,W alloys,and W composites) were presented,and their general mechanical performance,distinct role(particularly the role of different alloying elements and added secondary-phase particles in W),and application-oriented benefits have been *** clarifying the current status,main challenges,and triumphant successes for additively manufacturing W materials,we further provide a concise prospect into the development of additively manufactured(AMed) W materials by integrating potential fabrication,measurement,alloy design,and application’s *** summary,this critical review investigates the fundamental and practical problems crucially limiting the applications of AMed W materials,and the comprehensive discussion concentr

Cross-Modal Consistency with Aesthetic Similarity for Multimodal False Information Detection

With the explosive growth of false information on social media platforms, the automatic detection of multimodalfalse information has received increasing attention. Recent research has significantly contributed to multimodalinformation exchange and fusion, with many methods attempting to integrate unimodal features to generatemultimodal news representations. However, they still need to fully explore the hierarchical and complex semanticcorrelations between different modal contents, severely limiting their performance detecting multimodal falseinformation. This work proposes a two-stage detection framework for multimodal false information detection,called ASMFD, which is based on image aesthetic similarity to segment and explores the consistency andinconsistency features of images and texts. Specifically, we first use the Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training(CLIP) model to learn the relationship between text and images through label awareness and train an imageaesthetic attribute scorer using an aesthetic attribute dataset. Then, we calculate the aesthetic similarity betweenthe image and related images and use this similarity as a threshold to divide the multimodal correlation matrixinto consistency and inconsistencymatrices. Finally, the fusionmodule is designed to identify essential features fordetectingmultimodal false information. In extensive experiments on four datasets, the performance of the ASMFDis superior to state-of-the-art baseline methods.

Effects of rafting on the meso deformation and fracture behaviour of a Ni-based single crystal superalloy at room temperature: In-situ observation and simulation

Microstructural rafting of Ni-based single-crystal(SC) superalloys is inevitable at elevated temperatures during long-term service with mechanical loading, which significantly affects the mechanical behaviour of the material. In this study, the effects of rafting on the mesodeformation and fracture behaviour of a Ni-based SC superalloy under cyclic and tensile loads were investigated using in situ scanning electron microscopy(SEM), digital image correlation(DIC), and crystal plasticity finite element method(CP-FEM) simulations. The results indicated that the tensile strength decreased significantly in the rafted specimens. In the cyclic tests, both the virgin and rafted specimens showed an increase in the maximum shear strain with cycle number. The interaction of cross-slip bands was captured by in situ SEM-DIC around the micro-notch of the virgin specimens during the tensile test, while a more homogeneous local deformation field was observed in the rafting specimens. In addition,the fracture behaviour was strongly influenced by the rafting morphology. The crack exhibited instantaneous and long-range fracture features along the octahedral plane as it propagated in the rafting specimen, whereas it deflected over a short distance between the crystallographic planes at an early stage in the virgin specimen, which is consistent with the CP-FEM ***, the CP-FEM results for the crack initiation direction on(111) dominant slip plane were consistent with the in situ SEM observations.

A multi-scale framework for life reduction assessment of turbine blade caused by microstructural degradation

The prolonged thermal exposure with centrifugal load results in microstructural degradation,which ultimately leads to a reduction in the fatigue and creep resistance of the turbine *** present work proposes a multi-scale framework to estimate the life reduction of turbine blades,which combines a microstructural degradation model,a two-phase constitutive model,and a microstructure-dependent fatigue and creep life reduction *** framework with multi-scale models is validated by a Single Crystal(SC)Ni-based superalloy at the microstructural length-scale and is then applied to calculate the microstructural degradation and the fatigue and creep life reduction of turbine blades under two specific service *** simulation results and quantitative analysis show that the microstructural degradation and fatigue and creep life reduction of the turbine blade are heavily influenced by the variations in the proportion of the intermediate state,namely,the maximum rotor speed status,in the two specific service *** intermediate state accelerates the microstructural degradation and leads to a reduction of the life,especially the effective fatigue life reserve due to the higher temperature and rotational speed than that of the 93%maximum rotor speed status marked as the reference *** proposed multi-scale framework provides a capable approach to analyze the reduction of the fatigue and creep life for turbine blade induced by microstructural degradation,which can assist to determine a reasonable Time Between Overhaul(TBO)of the engine.

Application of immune checkpoint inhibitors and microsatellite instability in gastric cancer

In this editorial we comment on the article by Li published in the recent issue of the World Journal of *** focus specifically on the application of immune checkpoint inhibitors(ICIs)and microsatellite instability(MSI)in gastric cancer(GC).The four pillars of GC management have long been considered,including surgery,chemotherapy,radiotherapy and targeted ***,immunotherapy has recently emerged as a“fifth pillar”,and its use is rapidly *** are four principal strategies for tumor immunotherapy:ICIs,tumor vaccines,adoptive immunotherapy and nonspecific *** them,ICIs are the most advanced and widespread type of cancer immunotherapy for *** breakthrough results for ICIs have paved the way to a new era of cancer *** particular,inhibition of the PD-1/PD-L1 axis with ICIs,including nivolumab and pembrolizumab,has emerged as a novel treatment strategy for advanced ***,these therapies are sometimes associated with often subtle,potentially fatal immune-related adverse events(irAEs),including dermatitis,diarrhea,colitis,endocrinopathy,hepatotoxicity,neuropathy and *** must be aware of these irAEs and improve the detection of these processes to prevent inappropriate discharges,emergency department revisits,and downstream *** studies have revealed that MSI-high or mismatch-repair-deficient tumors,regardless of their primary site,have a promising response to ***,it is important to detect MSI before applying ICIs for treatment of GC.

Control of aluminum distribution in ZSM-5 zeolite for enhancement of its catalytic performance for propane aromatization

Regulation of aluminum distribution in zeolite framework is an effective method for improving its catalytic performance for propane ***,we found that recrystallization and post-realuminization of ZSM-5 cannot only create hollow structures to enhance the diffusion ability,but also adjust the content and position of paired aluminum species in its *** characterizations results confirmed that increase of paired aluminum content and inducement of more aluminum atoms sited in the intersection cavity are beneficial to the formation of aromatic products in propane *** a result,the hollow-structured ZSM-5 zeolite with more paired aluminum(H-200-hollow)showed higher propane conversion and aromatics selectivity than other samples at the same *** catalytic performance of H-200-hollow can be further improved by ion-exchanging with a small amount of Ga(III)*** propane conversion and aromatics selectivity of Ga-200-hollow reached as high as 95%and 70%,respectively,at 540°C and 1 atm.

Glaucoma surgery experiments using digital microscope-integrated optical coherence tomography and OCT-compatible instruments

There is a certain failure rate in traditional glaucoma surgery because of the lack of depth information in microscope *** this work,we present a digital microscope-integrated optical coherence tomography(MIOCT)system and several custom-made OCT-compatible instruments for glaucoma *** ophthalmologists were asked to perform trabeculectomy and canaloplasty on live porcine eyes using the system and *** surgery,a subjective feedback survey about the user experience was *** experiment results showed that our system can help surgeons easily locate important tissue structures during *** custom-made instruments also solved the shadowing problem in OCT *** preferred to use the system in their future practice.

Two-dimensional(2D)van der Waals layered materials have been widely used as ***-graphene(PG),a 2D carbon allotrope exclusively composed of irregular carbon pentagons has recently been predicted to have superlubricating *** the present study,by combining the molecular dynamics simulation and first-principles calculations,we investigated the frictional property of PG in both commensurate and incommensurate *** calculations show the ultra-low friction at the interface of relatively rotated bilayer PG with twist angles of more than 10°away from the commensurate ***,our calculations demonstrate the isotropy of the ultra-low friction at the interface of incommensurate contact,in contrast to the anisotropic of the commensurate contacting ***,the evolution of friction force and the fluctuation of potential energy along sliding path correlate closely with the interface’s *** energetics and charge density explain the difference between the friction at the interfaces of the commensurate and incommensurate *** only that,we found the correlation between the intrinsic structural feature and interlayer binding ***,our findings on the retainment of the ultra-low friction under work conditions indicates that the superlubricating state of PG has good practical adaptability.

Electro-assisted photocatalytic reduction of CO_(2) in ambient air using Ag/TNTAs at the gas-solid interface

The direct conversion of atmospheric CO_(2) into fuel via photocatalysis exhibits significant practical application value in advancing the carbon *** this study,we established an electro-assisted photocatalytic system with dual compartments and interfaces,and coated Ag nanoparticles on the titanium nanotube arrays(TNTAs)by polydopamine *** the absence of sacrificial agent and alkali absorption liquid conditions,the stable,efficient and highly selective conversion of CO_(2) to CO at the gas-solid interface in ambient air was realized by photoelectric ***,with the assistance of potential,the CO formation rates reached 194.9μmol h^(−1) m^(−2) and 103.9μmol h^(−1) m^(−2) under ultraviolet and visible light irradiation,respectively;the corresponding CO_(2) conversion rates in ambient air were 30%and 16%,*** excellent catalytic effect is mainly attributed to the formation of P–N heterojunction during the catalytic process and the surface plasmon resonance ***,the introduction of solid agar electrolytes effectively inhibits the hydrogen evolution reaction and improves the electron utilization *** system promotes the development of photocatalytic technology for practical applications and provides new insights and support for the carbon cycle.

Sedimentary paleoenvironment and its control on organic matter enrichment in the Mesoproterozoic hydrocarbon source rocks in the Ordos Basin, southern margin of the North China Craton

The black shale of the Mesoproterozoic Cuizhuang Formation in the Changcheng System in Yongji city,North China Craton, is a potential source rock. Understanding the organic matter enrichment mechanism is crucial for evaluating source rock resources and understanding oil and gas accumulation *** this study, we evaluated the sedimentary paleoenvironment and organic matter enrichment mechanisms of shale using thin section observations, mineral composition analysis, organic geochemistry, and elemental geochemistry. We found significant differences in the sedimentary paleoenvironment and organic matter enrichment mechanisms between the lower Cuizhuang Formation and the Beidajian Formation shale. The Cuizhuang Formation was deposited in a late-stage, restricted basin environment during the rift phase, and elemental and geochemical indicators showed that the Cuizhuang Formation was in a suboxic-anoxic water environment, that was influenced by a warm and humid paleoclimate and submarine hydrothermal activities, which promoted the accumulation of organic matter. However, the enrichment of organic matter in the Cuizhuang Formation was mainly controlled by redox *** formation of suboxic-anoxic water environments may be closely related to the warm and humid paleoclimate and submarine hydrothermal activities. Warm conditions promote continental weathering and increase marine productivity, thereby consuming oxygen in the bottom water. Moreover, acidic hydrothermal activity also helps to establish an anoxic environment. Our results reveal the effects controlling various coupled mechanisms dominated by redox conditions, which may explain the development of source rocks in the Cuizhuang Formation.
