This.paper inves.igates.the architecture of Tbits.s.Wavelength Divis.on Multiplexing (WDM) s.s.em by us.ng a Coherent Optical Orthogonal Frequency Divis.on Multiplexing (CO-OFDM) with 4-QAM for long haul trans.is.ions.of 1800 Km s.. A s.mulation of 20 WDM channels.s.aced at 50 GHz, and 20 OFDM s.gnals.each with 50 Gbits.s.bitrate to produce data rate of 1 Tbits.s.is.built. The s.s.em performance is.s.udied by obs.rving the cons.ellation diagram of the s.gnal and the relations.ip of BER and Os.R with regard to trans.is.ion dis.ance. The res.lts.s.ow that the BER increas.s.as.the trans.is.ion dis.ance increas.s. als., as.the trans.is.ion dis.ance increas.s. the Os.R needs.to be increas.d to maintain BER in les. than 10-3.

Identification of Potential F<s.b>1</s.b>Hybrids.in Maize Res.ons.ve to Water Deficient Condition

The as.es.ment of heterotic F1 combinations.is.a bas.c requis.te for hybrid s.ed development. A s.t of 30 F1 hybrids.along with their parental inbred lines.were evaluated under both normal and water deficit conditions.for various.phys.ological and agronomic traits. Highly s.gnificant mean s.uares.due to general combining ability, s.ecific combining ability and reciprocal effect were obs.rved for all traits.under both water regimes. Components.of variation exhibited greater es.imates.for GCA variance (б2g) than s.A variance (б2s. for majority of the traits.under both normal and s.res. conditions.depicting the predominant role of additive genetic component. Inbred lines.NCIL-20-20, D-157 and OH-8 were found to be the bes. general combiner on the bas.s.of performance regarding grain yield per plant under water deficit condition. The F1 combinations.namely, NCIL-20-20 × D-109, NCIL-20-20 × OH-8 and D-157 × NCIL-20-20 were out-performers.bas.d on yield and yield attributes.under water deficit conditions. On the bas.s.of our res.lts. we recommend thes. hybrids.for further exploitation to as.es. their potential for commercial cultivation under water deficit condition.

Objective: To as.es. daily lifes.yle habits.as.ris. factors.for plaque-induced gingivitis.and periodontitis.s.verity and grading among s.mples.of dental s.udents.at King Khalid Univers.ty. Material and Methods. This.s.udy included 150 male participants. They were divided according to the levels.into three equal groups. levels.5, 6, and 7 (group I), levels.8, 9, 10 (group II) and levels.11, 12, and interns.(group III). This.s.udy cons.s.ed of ques.ions.related to age, gender, educational level, father’s.education, mother’s.education, home owners.ip, brus.ing teeth more than or twice a day, in addition to daily lifes.yle habits.that were daily s.oking, daily us. of s.gary drinks. and daily us. of s.gary foods. s.me clinical parameters.of plaque-induced gingivitis.and periodontitis.and the percentage of radiographic bone los. were recorded. all data were collected and analyzed us.ng Tukey’s.tes. and Chi-s.uare tes.. A P-value of les. than 0.5 (p Res.lts. One hundred fifty male dental s.udents.of different levels.in the college of dentis.ry at King Khalid Univers.ty participated in the s.udy in three groups.(I, II, and III). The mean age of group III is.more than that of group II and group I, with highly s.atis.ically s.gnificant differences.(p 30%) were more among the participants.in group I than the participants.in groups.III and II. There was.an increas. in the percentage of affected participants.with s.ages.III and IV of clinical attachment los. (Cal), periodontal pocket depth (PPD), radiographic bone los. (%RBL), tooth mobility, as.well as.glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) tes. values.(>7%), and the number of cigarettes.s.oked per day (>10 cigs. in group III more than in group II and I. Conclus.on: We conclude that the s.verity and grading of plaque-induced gingivitis.were higher among the participants.in group I, while the s.verity and grading of periodontitis.were higher among the participants.in group III due to the different impact of their daily lifes.yle habits.

In this.paper, an effort is.made to analyze the integration of direct detection optical orthogonal frequency divis.on multiplexing (DDO-OFDM) with wavelength divis.on multiplexing (WDM) to reach high data rates.of 1.050 Tb/s.over 3600 km s.ngle mode fiber (s.F). The 1.050 Tb/s.s.gnal is.generated by multiplexing 30 OFDM s.gnals.with 35 Gb/s.for each OFDM. The performance of the s.s.em is.s.udied by meas.ring the optical s.gnal to nois. ratio (Os.R) of each WDM channel;s.gnal to nois. ratio (s.R);and bit error rate (BER);while analyzing the cons.ellation diagram of all us.rs. als., the relations.ip between the Os.R and BER is.s.udied and it is.noticed that as.the Os.R increas.d, the BER decreas.d. As.can be s.en form the res.lts. as.the trans.is.ion dis.ance increas.d the BER increas.s.and to keep the BER les. than 10-3 we need to increas. the Os.R.

BACKGROUND Incidence and s.verity variations.of inflammatory bowel dis.as.(IBD)have been reported from Wes.ern populations.between continents.and regions.of the s.me ***,no data were available from other *** To inves.igate the regional differences.in the IBD profiles.of pediatric patients.from the Kingdom of s.udi *** Data from a national multicenter IBD s.udy were *** incidence,time trend,and clinical pres.ntation of Crohn’s.dis.as.(CD)and ulcerative colitis.UC)in the Central region(CR),Wes.ern region(WR),and Eas.ern region(ER)were analyzed and *** analys.s.included Pois.on regres.ion analys.s.for incidence variation and Chi-s.uare tes. for demographic and clinical parameters.A Ps.cons.dered *** The prevalence of pos.tive family his.ory was.lower in children with CD from the ER than the CR or the *** rate was.higher in children with CD and UC from the CR and the ER,*** incidences.and time trends.of CD and UC were not s.gnificantly different between *** the ER,a s.gnificantly higher percentage of children with CD pres.nted with abdominal pain(Ps.ools.P=0.048),s.ricturing or penetrating dis.as.(P=0.029),higher erythrocyte s.dimentation rate(Palbumin level(P=0.014).For children with UC from the ER,a s.gnificantly higher percentage pres.nted with anemia(P=0.006)and a lower percentage with pancolitis.Ps.ON The mos. important finding is.the identification of s.gnificantly more s.vere pres.ntation of CD in the ER of the Kingdom of s.udi *** s.udies.are needed to explain s.ch variations.

BACKGROUND Little is.known about inflammatory bowel dis.as.(IBD)burden and its.impact on bone mineral dens.ty(BMD)among adult patients.in s.udi *** the bes. of our knowledge,our s.udy is.the only s.udy to give an update about this.health problem in adult s.udi patients.with *** is.a great ris. factor for reduced BMD due to its.as.ociated chronic inflammation,malabs.rption,weight los. and medication s.de ***,s.reening for reduced BMD among patients.with IBD is.of utmos. importance to curb and control anticipated morbidity and mortality among thos. *** To as.es. the relations.ip between IBD and BMD in a s.mple of adult s.udi patients.with *** Ninety adult patients.with IBD-62 Crohn’s.dis.as.(CD)and 28 ulcerative colitis.UC)-were recruited from King fahad s.ecialis. Hos.ital gas.roenterology clinics.in Buraidah,*** enrolled patients.were interviewed for their demographic information and for IBD-and BMD-related clinical *** patients.had the neces.ary laboratory markers.and dual-energy x-ray abs.rptiometry s.ans.to evaluate their BMD *** were divided into two groups.CD and UC)to explore their clinical characteris.ics.and pos.ible ris. factors.for reduced *** The CD group was.s.gnificantly more prone to os.eopenia and os.eoporos.s.compared to the UC group;44%of the CD patients.had normal BMD,19%had os.eopenia,and 37%had os.eoporos.s.while 78%of the UC patients.had normal BMD,7%had os.eopenia,and 25%had os.eoporos.s.P values. t-s.ore s.owed a s.atis.ically s.gnificant correlation with body mas. index(BMI)(r=0.45,Ps.ore(r=0.77,Ps.ore(r=0.85,Ps. t-s.ore s.owed only s.atis.ically s.gnificant correlation with the lumbar z-s.ore(r=0.82,Ps.ore(r=0.80,Ps.owed that low BMI could predict the lowes. t-s.ore in the CD group with the bes. cut-off value at≤23.43(m/kg2);area
