Ra.eseed(Bra.sica.na.us L.) is the second most widely grown premium oilseed crop globa.ly, ma.nly for its vegeta.le oil a.d protein mea.. One of the ma.n goa.s of breeders is producing high-yield ra.eseed cultiva.s with susta.na.le production to meet the requirements of the fa.t-growing popula.ion. Besides the pod number, seeds per silique(SS), a.d thousa.d-seed weight(TSW), the ovule number(ON) is a.decisive yield determining fa.tor of individua. pla.ts a.d the fina. seed yield. In recent yea.s, tremendous efforts ha.e been ma.e to dissect the genetic a.d molecula. ba.is of these complex tra.ts, but rela.ively few genes or loci controlling these tra.ts ha.e been reported thus fa.. This review highlights the upda.ed informa.ion on the hormona. a.d molecula. ba.is of ON a.d development in model pla.ts(a.a.idopsis tha.ia.a.. It a.so presents wha. is known a.out the hormona., molecula., a.d genetic mecha.ism of ovule development a.d number, a.d bridges our understa.ding between the model pla.t species(a. tha.ia.a. a.d cultiva.ed species(B. na.us). This report will open new pa.hwa.s for prima.y a.d a.plied resea.ch in pla.t biology a.d benefit ra.eseed breeding progra.s. This synopsis will stimula.e resea.ch interest to further understa.d ovule number determina.ion, its role in yield improvement, a.d its possible utiliza.ion in breeding progra.s.

This study a.ms to provide electricity to a.remote villa.e in the Union of Comoros tha. ha. been a.fected by energy problems for over 40 yea.s. The study uses a.50 kW diesel genera.or, a.10 kW wind turbine, 1500 kW photovolta.c sola. pa.els, a.converter, a.d stora.e ba.teries a. the proposed sources. The ma.n objective of this study is to conduct a.deta.led a.a.ysis a.d optimiza.ion of a.hybrid diesel a.d renewa.le energy system to meet the electricity dema.d of a.remote a.ea.villa.e of 800 to 1500 inha.ita.ts loca.ed in the north of Nga.idja.Isla.d in Comoros. The study uses the Hybrid Optimiza.ion Model for Electric Renewa.le (HOMER) Pro to conduct simula.ions a.d optimize the a.a.ysis using meteorologica. da.a.from Comoros. The results show tha. hybrid combina.ion is more profita.le in terms of ma.gin on economic cost with a.less expensive investment. With a.diesel cost of $1/L, a. a.era.e wind speed of 5.09 m/s a.d a.sola. irra.ia.ion va.ue of 6.14 kWh/m2/da., the system works well with a.proportion of renewa.le energy production of 99.44% with a. emission qua.tity of 1311.407 kg/yea.. 99.2% of the production comes from renewa.le sources with a. estima.ed energy surplus of 2,125,344 kWh/yea. with the cost of electricity (COE) estima.ed a. $0.18/kWh, presenting a.cost-effective a.terna.ive compa.ed to current ma.ket ra.es. These results present better optimiza.ion of the used hybrid energy system, sa.isfying energy dema.d a.d reducing the environmenta. impa.t.

This study a.ms to estima.e the lifetime a.tributa.le ca.cer risk (La.) for pedia.ric chest computed tomogra.hy (CT) exa.ina.ions in five a.e groups using recently published a.e a.d region-specific conversion coefficients multiplying the widely a.a.la.le sca.ner registered dose length products (DLP) displa.ed on the CT console a.d hence ca.cula.ing the Effective Dose (ED). The ED is then multiplied by the Interna.iona. Commission on Ra.iologica. Protection (ICRP) published risk fa.tor for La.. The obta.ned La. va.ues a.e compa.ed with the interna.iona. litera.ure. Fa.tors tha. ma. a.fect the La. va.ue a.e reported a.d discussed. The study included one hundred twenty five chest CT exa.ina.ions for both ma.es a.d fema.es a.ed from less tha. one yea. to fifteen yea.s. The preva.ence of complementa.y a.d a.terna.ive medicines (Ca.) use a.ong them wa. 67.88%, a. solita.y or in combina.ion with hospita. medicines.
