Discoidin Domain Receptor 2(DDR2)is a collagen-activated receptor kinase that,together with integrins,is required for cells to respond to the extracellular ***2 loss-of-function mutations in humans and mice cause severe defects in skeletal growth and ***,the cellular functions of Ddr2 in bone are not *** and lineage analysis showed selective expression of Ddr2 at early stages of bone formation in the resting zone and proliferating chondrocytes and *** with these findings,Ddr2^(+)cells could differentiate into hypertrophic chondrocytes,osteoblasts,and osteocytes and showed a high degree of colocalization with the skeletal progenitor marker,Gli1.A conditional deletion approach showed a requirement for Ddr2 in Gli1-positive skeletal progenitors and chondrocytes but not mature ***,Ddr2 knockout in limb bud chondroprogenitors or purified marrow-derived skeletal progenitors inhibited chondrogenic or osteogenic differentiation,*** work establishes a cell-autonomous function for Ddr2 in skeletal progenitors and cartilage and emphasizes the critical role of this collagen receptor in bone development.

The influence of chloride or sulphur dioxide on the corrosion behavior of copper tube in the air-conditioning system was studied using scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersion spectrometer (EDS) and cyclic polarization techniques. The results showed that the corrosion of copper tube are mainly caused by the SO42- and Cl- ions in the circulating water, and the former is mainly responsible for the general corrosion of the copper tube whilst the latter for the pitting corrosion. The different influences of SG42- and Cl- ions on the corrosion type of copper tube may be attributed to that the radius of SO42- ion is much larger than that of Cl- ion. Meanwhile the results also indicated that SO42- inhibits the pitting corrosion caused by Cl- and Cl- inhibits the general corrosion initiated by SO42- due to their competitive adsorption on the copper matrix.

Chip-based squeezing at a telecom wavelength

We demonstrate a squeezing experiment exploiting the association of integrated optics and telecom technology as key features for compact, stable, and practical continuous variable quantum optics. In our setup, squeezed light is generated by single-pass spontaneous parametric down conversion on a lithium niobate photonic circuit and detected by a homodyne detector whose interferometric part is directly integrated on the same platform. The remaining parts of the experiment are implemented using commercial plug-and-play devices based on guided-wave technologies. We measure, for a CW pump power of 40 mW, a squeezing level of -2.00±0.05 dB (anti-squeezing 2.80 ±0.05 dB), thus confirming the validity of our approach and opening the way toward miniaturized and easy-to-handle continuous variable-based quantum systems.

On Some Problems of Extracting the Root from a Given finite Language

Based on the standard definition of the product (concatenation), the natural non-negative degree of the language is introduced. Root extraction is the reverse operation to it, and it can be defined in several different ways. Despite the simplicity of the formulation of the problem of extracting the root, the authors could not find any description of it in the literature (as well as on the Internet), including even its formulation. Most of the material in this article is devoted to the simplest version of the formulation: the root of the 2nd degree for the 1-letter alphabet, but many of the provisions of the article are generalized to more complex cases. Apparently, for a possible future description of a polynomial algorithm for solving at least one of the described statements of root extraction problems, it is first necessary to really analyze in detail such a special case, that is: either describe the necessary polynomial algorithm, or, conversely, show that the problem belongs to the class of NP-complete problems. Thus, in this article, we do not propose a polynomial algorithm for the problems under consideration;however, the models described here should help in constructing appropriate heuristic algorithms for their solution. A detailed description of the possible further application of such heuristic algorithms is beyond the scope of this article. .

Human herpesvirus-6(HHV-6) is an important immunosuppressive and immunomodulatory virus that primarily infects immune cells(mainly CD4(+) T cells) and strongly suppresses the proliferation of infected ***-like receptors are pattern-recognition receptors essential for the development of an appropriate innate immune defense against *** understand the role of CD4(+) T cells in the innate response to HHV-6 infection and the involvement of TLRs, we used an in vitro infection model and observed that the infection of CD4(+) T cells resulted in the activation of JNK/SAPK via up-regulation of toll-like receptor 9(TLR9).Associated with JNK activation, annexin V-PI staining indicated that HHV-6A was a strong inducer of *** response associated cytokines, IL-6 and TNf-α also induced by HHV-6A infection.

Electrostatic Surface Modes in Magnetized Quantum Electron-Hole Plasma

The excitation of electrostatic surface waves on a semibounded quantum plasma-vacuum interface parallel to an applied magnetic field with electron-hole degeneracy is investigated. The wave equations of the electrostatic potential and both of the perturbed electron and hole plasma densities have been solved analytically. By using quantum hydrodynamic (QHD) model and the Poisson’s equation with appropriate boundary conditions, the general dispersion relation of these surface modes has been obtained. It is also solved and studied numerically for different cases of plasmas (magnetized or unmagnetized, classical or quantum). We have found that the density ratio of hole-electron plasma plays essential role on the dispersion of the modes along the wavelength beside the quantum and magnetic field.

The melting temperature and critical transition temperature Tc of YBa2Cu3O7-δ with deferent content additives of PbO and BaPbO3 were studied. When PbO was doped in YBa2Cu3O7-δ, the melting temperature of YBa2Cu3O7-δ was reduced, however its superconductivity was weakened. from the XRD pattern of the sintered mixture of YBa2Cu3O7-δ and PbO, it was known that there was a reaction between YBa2Cu3O7-δ and PbO, and the product was BaPbO3. Hence different contents of BaPbO3 (10mass%, 20mass% and 30mass%) were added in YBa2Cu3O7-δ. It was proved that there were no reactions between YBa2Cu3O7-δ and BaPbO3. And the superconductivity of the mixtures was much better than that of the samples with PbO additive.
