Reversible antispermatogenic and antisteroidogenic activities of feronia limonia fruit pulp in adult male rats

Objective:To explore the antispermatogenic and testicular antisleroidogenic activities of feronia limonia fruit pulp southern ***:fourty Wistar male albino rats(Ratios norvegicus)were equally divided into four *** groups were administered with the ethanolic extract of feronia lirnonia(***)fruit pulp at doses of 250 and 500 nig/kg body weight once daily for 55 *** treated rats had corresponding recovery *** the end of each treatment periods,various spermatological indices,tissue biochemicals and testicular enzymes levels were *** profiles were also ***:Compared with the control,the *** pulp at both dose leveb did not decrease body weight,which were associated with decline in epididymal sperm count,motility,viability and increased percent of abnormal ***,*** pulp at 500 mg/kg body weight markedly reduced the epididymal and testicular protein content by 24.58%and 29.86%,respectively,as well as the glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and△~5-3β-hydroxy steroid dehydrogenase)levels by 42.82%and 38.08%,respectively,while a significant elevation was observed in testicular cholesterol and ascorbic acid content.A gradual recovery of all parameters was observed after 55 days of treatment *** significant alterations in haematological indices were ***:The present findings indicate that *** fruit pulp may have reversible antispermatogenic and antisteroidogenic properties,and could partially support the traditional use as mate contraceptive.

Genomic mosaicism due to homoeologous exchange generates extensive phenotypic diversity in nascent allopolyploids

Allopolyploidy is an important process in plant speciation, yet newly formed allopolyploid species typically suffer from extreme genetic bottlenecks. One escape from this impasse might be homoeologous meiotic pairing, during which homoeologous exchanges(HEs) generate phenotypically variable progeny. However,the immediate genome-wide patterns and resulting phenotypic diversity generated by HEs remain largely unknown. Here, we analyzed the genome composition of 202 phenotyped euploid segmental allopolyploid individuals from the fourth selfed generation following chromosomal doubling of reciprocal f1 hybrids of crosses between rice subspecies, using whole-genome sequencing. We describe rampant occurrence of HEs that, by overcoming incompatibility or conferring superiority of hetero-cytonuclear interactions, generate extensive and individualized genomic mosaicism across the analyzed tetraploids. We show that the resulting homoeolog copy number alteration in tetraploids affects known-function genes and their complex genetic interactions, in the process creating extraordinary phenotypic diversity at the population level following a single initial hybridization. Our results illuminate the immediate genomic landscapes possible in a tetraploid genomic environment, and underscore HE as an important mechanism that fuels rapid phenotypic diversification accompanying the initial stages of allopolyploid evolution.

Acute Effects of Virtual Reality Exercise on Young Adults’ Blood Pressure and feelings

Virtual reality(VR)seems to have the potential to provide opportunities to promote physical activity(PA)in a fun *** paper aimed to examine the acute effects of three different virtual reality-based exercise bikes on young adults’blood pressure(BP)and feelings compared to a traditional exercise cycling *** exercise sessions(immersive VR cycling,two non-immersive VR cycling,and traditional cycling)were completed by 36 young adults(22 females;Mage=23.6 years).BP was measured immediately before and after each session using a BP cuff and exercise-induced feelings were assessed via an established survey immediately after each ***-cipants’previous experience with VR was used as the covariate in the ANCOVA with repeated ***-icant main effects were observed across cycling sessions for systolic blood pressure[f(2,29)=3.04,p=0.02,(η^(2)=0.38)]and feelings[f(3,32)=7.74,pf-icantly increased systolic blood pressure compared to the two non-immersive VR ***,immersive VR significantly increased feelings compared to the two non-immersive VR sessions,whereas these two non-immersive VR exercises had significantly greater increased feelings compared to traditional cycling,*** suggest immersive VR-based exercise cycling may lead to higher exercise intensities compared to non-immersive VR ***,immersive VR cycling yielded higher feelings compared to non-immersive VR and traditional ***,immersive VR-based exercise can be a fun and physically active health promotion tool among young adults.

The influence of air pollutants, especially aerosols,on regional and global climate has been widely investigated,but only a very limited number of studies report their impacts on everyday weather. In this work, we present for the first time direct（observational） evidence of a clear effect of how a mixed atmospheric pollution changes the weather with a substantial modification in the air temperature and *** using comprehensive measurements in Nanjing, China,we found that mixed agricultural burning plumes with fossil fuel combustion pollution resulted in a decrease in the solar radiation intensity by more than 70 %, a decrease in the sensible heat by more than 85 %, a temperature drop by almost10 K, and a change in rainfall during both daytime and nighttime. Our results show clear air pollution–weather interactions, and quantify how air pollution affects weather via air pollution–boundary layer dynamics and aerosol–radiation–cloud feedbacks. This study highlights cross-disciplinary needs to investigate the environmental, weather and climate impacts of the mixed biomass burning and fossil fuel combustion sources in East China.

The Litter nutrient concentrations of N, P, Ca, Mg, K and Na in mature leaves, twigs and reproductive parts and their relationship between senescent and young leaves were investigated in five forest species： Acacia nilotica, Acacia leucophloea. Tectona grandis, Miliusa tomentosa and Butea monosperma in Indian tropical dry deciduous forest in Western India.. Total dry matter of plant species was recorded and analyzed for N, P, Ca, Mg, K and Na. A. nilotica had the highest concentrations of N in leaf, while ,4. leucophloea had the highest concentrations of Ca and Mg in leaf. The highest concentrations of P in leaf were found in A. nilotica, A. leucophloea and B. monosperma where as lowest in T. grandis and M. tomentosa. No significant differences in K and Na were registered among the species. A marked seasonal variability was ob- served in the concentrations of N, P and K, except for Ca and Mg. Potas- sium is the single element that undergoes leaching and mobilization in all species. Resorped N and P can be used for the production of fresh leaf in the following annual cycle. Nutrient resorption and retranslocation from senescent leaves and litter supports the production of new foliage and increase the fertility of soil.

Renal transplantation is the treatment of choice for end-stage renal *** acute rejection is not a major issue anymore,chronic rejection is still a major factor that might lead to allograft dysfunction on the long *** role of the local immune-regulating cytokine interleukin-10（IL-10）in chronic renal allograft is *** clinical observations showed that local IL-10 level was negatively related to kidney allograft *** is unknown this negative relationship was the result of immunostimulatory property or insufficient immunosuppression property of local *** performed ex vivo transduction before transplantation through artery of the renal allograft using adeno-associated viral vectors carrying IL-10 *** weeks after transplantation,we found intrarenal IL-10 gene transduction significantly inhibited interstitial fibrosis and inflammation,arterial neointimal proliferation,peritubular capillary congestion and glomerular inflammation in renal allografts compared to control allografts receiving PBS or vectors carrying ***-10 transduction increased serum IL-10 level at 4 weeks but not at 8 and *** IL-10 level increased while serum creatinine decreased significantly in IL-10 group at 12weeks compared to PBS or YfP *** staining showed unchanged total T cells（CD3）and B cells（CD45R/B220）,decreased cytotoxic T cells（CD8）and macrophages（CD68）along with increased CD4+cells and CD25+cells in IL-10 *** summary,intrarenal IL-10 inhibited the allograft rejection while regulated Th1/Th2 balance.
