Within the framework of the circular economy,the waste litchi’s skins were upgraded and transformed into electrocatalysts for oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and hydrogen evolution reaction(HER).The waste litchi’s skins were pyrolyzed,activated,and then used as carbon support for f.bricating metal–nitrogen–carbons(m–N–Cs)which belong to a promising class of platinum group metal-free *** activated char was functionalized with transition metal(fe,Ni,and Co)-phthalocyanine(Pc)in monometallic and bimetallic fashion by subjecting it to a thermal treatment at 600 and 900◦*** samples functionalized at 900℃ showed higher performance for HER due to the formation of metal nanoparticles,whereas the samples functionalized at 600℃ showed higher performance for ***,sample Ni–Co 900 had an overpotential of−0.38 V for HER,while the sample fe 600 was the most active electrocatalyst for ORR by demonstrating the onset potential of∼0.9 V(a half-wave potential of∼0.81 V)with the least production of unwanted peroxide anion.

BACKGROUND Regorafenib is an oral small-molecule multikinase inhibitor approved in third or later line of treatment for patients with metastatic colorectal cancer(mCRC).Regorafenib has shown significant benefits in overall survival and progression free survival in two phase III trials compared to placebo in patients with mCRC who had progressed on previous *** To identify an immune profile that might specifically correlate with the outcome in patients treated with *** Blood samples were collected from 17 patients before treatment with regorafenib and from 6 healthy *** proteins evaluated(TNf-α,TGf-β,VEGf,CCL-2,CCL-4,and CCL-5)were selected on the basis of their roles in angiogenesis and colorectal cancer *** We found that TNf-αbasal level was significantly higher in mCRC patients compared to healthy *** Responder(NR)patients showing progression of disease(n=12)had higher basal level of TGf-β,TNf-α,VEGf,CCL-2 and CCL-5 compared to Responder(R)patients(complete response CR,n=1;partial response PR,n=1;Stable Disease SD,n=3).On the contrary,plasma basal level of CCL-4 was higher in R compared to NR *** values of TGf-βand TNf-αnegatively correlated with progression free *** These results suggest a cytokine signature potentially able to discriminate between R and NR patients to treatment with regorafenib.

AIm: Helicobacter pylori (H pylon) has been linked to chronic gastritis, peptic ulcers, gastric cancer and mALT-lymphoma. Conventional invasive tests are less sensitive than non-invasive tests in diagnosing H pylori infection in patients with bleeding peptic ulcers. Polymerase chain reaction is a sensitive and accurate method for diagnosing H pylori infection. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic role of mucosai polymerase chain reaction for H pylori infection in patients with bleeding peptic ulcers. mETHODS: In patients with bleeding, non-bleeding peptic ulcers and chronic gastritis, we checked rapid urease test, histology, bacterial culture and mucosai polymerase chain reaction fordetecting H pylori infection. Positive H pylori infection was defined as positive culture or both a positive histology and a positive rapid urease test. for mucosai polymerase chain reaction of H pylori, we checked vacA (s1a, s1b, s1c, s2, m1, m1T, m2), iceA1, iceA2. and cag A. RESULTS: Between October 2000 and April 2002,88 patients with bleeding peptic ulcers (males/females: 60/28, gastric ulcers/duodenal ulcers: 55/33), 81 patients with non-bleeding peptic ulcers (males/females: 54/27, gastric ulcers/duodenal ulcers: 45/36) and 37 patients with chronic gastritis (males/ females: 24/13) were enrolled in this study. In patients with bleeding peptic ulcers, non-bleeding peptic ulcers and chronic gastritis, 45 patients (51%), 71 patients (88%) and 20 patients (54%) respectively were found to have positive H pylori infection (Pmerase chain reaction for H pylori infection was positive in 54 patients (61%), 70 patients (86%) and 20 patients (54%) respectively (Pf mucosai polymerase reaction for H pylori infection were significantly lower in patients with bleeding peptic ulcers (84%, 79% and 81%) th

The unification of gravity and electromagnetism is a conjecture of Einstein although he failed to show it because Einstein did not realize that this unification requires a new charge-mass interaction. moreover, the existence of such an interaction has been verified by experiments. Apparently m. A. E1-Lakany also fails to see the need of such a new interaction. moreover, he also has no experiment predictions that can be used to support his theory. It will be shown that Einstein＇s conjecture is valid.

BACKGROUND ST-elevation myocardial infarction(STEmI)remains a major cause of mortality despite early revascularization and optimal medical *** individual management by considering patients’specificities may help in improving post-STEmI *** To evaluate whether in-hospital bleeding complications may be involved in post STEmI prognosis among overweight *** We prospectively included 2070 patients with a STEmI between January 2005 and december 2012 in the french observational cohort,“Registre d’Infarctus maine-Anjou”.Bleeding Academic Research Consortium(BARC)in-hospital bleeding complications were *** Of 705 patients(35.3%)were presented as being of normal weight,defined as a body mass index(BmI)m^2,877(43.9%)had a BmI between 25 and 30 kg/m^2and 416(20.8%)had a BmI≥30 kg/m^***-year cardiovascular mortality was lower for BmI≥25 kg/m^2(5.3%and 7.1%)patients than for normal weight patients(10.8%)(P=0.001).We found an interaction between the effect of BARC 3 on mortality and BmI *** a BARC 3 was related to a higher 1-year mortality in general(HR:2.58,95%CI:1.44-4.64,P≤0.001),prognosis was even worse in normal weight patients(HR:2.97,95%CI:1.61-5.5,Pfor patients with a BmI≥25 kg/m^2(HR:1.94,95%CI:1.02-3.69,P=0.041).CONCLUSION Normal weight patients presented higher rates of in-hospital bleeding complications and lower survival after a *** mortality might be due to greater vulnerability to bleeding amongst normal weight patients.

AIm To investigate the impact of alpha-fetoprotein(AfP) on long-term recurrence rate and overall survival and we also aimed to define the level of AfP leading to a higher risk of disease recurrence and affecting patient *** Data of adult patients who received liver transplant(LT) for hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC) at our hospital from January 2000 to december 2013 were reviewed. Reviewed data included demographic characteristics, preoperative AfP level, operative details, follow-up details, and survival outcomes. Patients were mostly listed for LT based on milan or UCSf criteria. for the purpose of this study, normal AfP level was defined as AfP value m L, high AfP level was defined as AfP value ≥ 10 to m L, and very highAfP level was defined as AfP ≥ 400 ng/m L. The patients were divided into these 3 groups accordingly. Survival rates were plotted as Kaplan-meier curves and compared by log-rank analysis. Continuous variables were expressed as median(interquartile range). Categorical variables were compared by Spearman's test. Discriminative analysis was used to define the lowest value of AfP that could affect the overall survival in study population. Statistical significance was defined by a P value of derwent LT for HCC in the study period. Eight-four of them received deceaseddonor LT and 166 had living-donor LT. The patients were divided into 3 groups: Group A, AfP m L(n = 83); Group B, AfP ≥ 10 to m L(n = 131); Group C, AfP ≥ 400 ng/m L(n = 36). The commonest etiology was hepatitis-B-related cirrhosis. The model for End-stage Liver Disease scores in these groups were similar(median, 13 vs 13 vs 12; P = 0.745). The time to operation in Group A was longer(median, 94 vs 31 vs 35 d; P = 0.001).
