flexible attachment actuators are popular in a wide range of applications,owing to their flexibility and highly reliable ***,their reversible adhesion performance depends on the actual effective contact area and peel angle during ***,a good actuator must ensure a uniform and reliable pre-pressure load on an adhesive surface,to increase the effective contact area of the attached surface,thereby maximizing *** study was inspired by fusion bionics for designing a hierarchical attachment structure with vacuum-adsorption and dry-adhesion *** designed structure used the normal force under the negative pressure of a suction cup as a stable source of a pre-pressure *** optimizing the rigid and flexible structural layers of the attachment structure,a load was applied uniformly to the adhesion area;thus,reliable attachment was achieved by *** structure achieved detachment by exploiting the large deformation of a pneumatic structure under a positive *** hierarchical attachment structure achieved up to 85%of the optimal performance of the adhesive *** to its self-preloading and reliable attachment characteristics,the designed structure can be used as an attachment unit in various complex scenarios,such as small,lightweight climbing platforms and the transport of objects in long,narrow pipelines.

CO_(2)flooding in shale oil reservoir with radial borehole fracturing for CO_(2)storage and enhanced oil recovery

This study introduces a novel method integrating CO_(2)flooding with radial borehole fracturing for enhanced oil recovery and CO_(2)underground storage,a solution to the limited vertical stimulation reservoir volume in horizontal well fracturing.A numerical model is established to investigate the production rate,reservoir pressure field,and CO_(2)saturation distribution corresponding to changing time of CO_(2)flooding with radial borehole fracturing.A sensitivity analysis on the influence of CO_(2)injection location,layer spacing,pressure difference,borehole number,and hydraulic fractures on oil production and CO_(2)storage is *** CO_(2)flooding process is divided into four *** in layer spacing will significantly improve oil production rate and gas storage ***,serious gas channeling can occur when the spacing is lower than 20 *** the pressure difference between the producer and injector,the borehole number,the hydraulic fracture height,and the fracture width can also increase the oil production rate and gas storage *** analysis shows that layer spacing and fracture height greatly influence gas storage and oil *** outcomes are expected to provide a theoretical basis for the efficient development of shale oil reservoirs in the vertical direction.

Artemsieverolactones A—H,Eight Guaiane-Type Sesquiterpenoid Trimers from Artemisia sieversiana

Eight new guaiane-type sesquiterpenoid trimers,artemsieverolactones A—H,possessing unprecedented scaffolds via biocatalyzed[4+2]Diels−Alder cycloaddition reactions were identified from Artemisia *** structures were determined by comprehensive spectroscopic data,single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses,and ECD *** terms of structure,artemsieverolactones A—H are first examples of sesquiterpenoid trimers from guaiane-type sesquiterpenoid through four different[4+2]Diels−Alder cycloaddition *** fibrosis assay suggested that five compounds exhibited activity against HSC-LX2 with IC_(50)values ranging from 37.8 to 117.1μmol/*** most active artemsieverolactone B(2)displayed significant inhibitory activity against HSC-LX2 with IC_(50)value of 37.8μmol/L,which was 3 times more active than the positive drug silybin(IC_(50),139.7μmol/L).Preliminary mechanism study revealed that artemsieverolactone B could inhibit the deposition of human collagen typeⅠ(ColⅠ),human hyaluronic acid(HA),and human laminin(HL)with IC_(50)values of 40.4μmol/L(Col I),55.1μmol/L(HL),47.3μmol/L(HA),which was 2 to 3-fold more potent than silybin.

Thermochromic polymers with tunable thermochromism,high stretchability and mechanical strength are of interests for optical information storage and *** this work,we demonstrate a new design of thermo-fluorochromic carboxylated nitrile butadiene rubber(XNBR)elastomer cross-linked by Eu^(3+)-COOH dynamic coordination with deprotonated imidazole(DPIm)as the ancillary *** presence of DPIm not only improves the mechanical strength and stretchability,but also dramatically intensifies the fluorescence emission and lifetime of the Eu-containing *** elastomer behaves reversible thermo-fluorochromism with easily tunable transition temperature and emission intensity by the simple change of the deprotonation degree of *** facile tunable thermo-fluorochromism,exceptional mechanical strength,and high stretchability(up to about 5000%)enable the Eu-containing XNBR elastomer with potential applications in soft electronics where optical information storage and encryption are required.

Exploration of the Existence forms and Patterns of Dissolved Oxygen Molecules in Water

The structure of liquid water is primarily composed of three-dimensional networks of water clusters formed by hydrogen bonds,and dis-solved oxygen is one of the most important indicators for assessing water *** this work,distilled water with different concentration of dissolved oxygen were prepared,and a clear negative correlation between the size of water clus-ters and dissolved oxygen concentration was ***,a phenomenon of rapid absorption and release of oxygen at the water interfaces was unveiled,suggesting that oxygen molecules predominantly exist at the interfaces of water *** molecules can move rapidly through the interfaces among water clusters,allowing dissolved oxygen to quickly reach a saturation level at certain partial pressure of oxygen and *** exploration into the mechanism by molecular dynamics simulations of oxygen and water clusters found that oxygen molecules can only exist stably at the interfaces among water clusters.A semi-empirical formula relating the average number of water molecules in a cluster(n)to ^(17)O NMR half-peak width(W)was summarized:n=0.1 W+*** findings provide a foundation for exploring the structure and properties of water.

Manipulating Na occupation and constructing protective film of P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.67)O_(2) as long-term cycle stability cathode for sodium-ion batteries

P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.33)Mn_(0.67)O_(2)(NNMO)is promising cathode material for sodium-ion batteries(SIBs)due to its high specific capacity and fast Na+diffusion ***,the irreversible P2-O_(2)phase transformation,Na+/vacancy ordering,and transition metal(TM)dissolution seriously damage its cycling stability and restrict its commercialization ***,Na occupation manipulation and interface stabilization are proposed to strengthen the phase structure of NNMO by synergistic Zn/Ti co-doping and introducing lithium difluorophosp(LiPO_(2)f_(2))film-forming electrolyte *** Zn/Ti co-doping regulates the occupancy ratio of Nae/Nafat Na sites and disorganizes the Na+/vacancy ordering,resulting in a faster Na+diffusion kinetics and reversible P2-Z phase transition for P2-Na_(0.67)Ni_(0.28)Zn_(0.05)Mn_(0.62)Ti_(0.05)O_(2)(NNZMTO).Meanwhile,the LiPO_(2)f_(2)additive can form homogeneous and ultrathin cathode-electrolyte interphase(CEI)on NNZMTO surface,which can stabilize the NNZMTO-electrolyte interface to prevent TM dissolution,surface structure transformation,and micro-crack *** studies of in situ and ex situ characterizations and theoretical calculations were used to elucidate the storage mechanism of NNZMTO with Li PO_(2)f_(2)*** a result,the NNZMTO displays outstanding capacity retention of 94.44%after 500 cycles at 1C with 0.3 wt%Li PO_(2)f_(2),excellent rate performance of 92.5 mA h g^(-1)at 8C with 0.1 wt%Li PO_(2)f_(2),and remarkable full cell *** work highlights the important role of manipulating Na occupation and constructing protective film in the design of layered materials,which provides a promising direction for developing high-performance cathodes for SIBs.

Small interfering RNA(siRNA)has a promising future in the treatment of ocular diseases due to its high efficiency,specificity,and low toxicity in inhibiting the expression of target genes and ***,due to the unique anatomical structure of the eye and various barriers,delivering nucleic acids to the retina remains a significant *** this study,we rationally design PACD,an A-B-C type non-viral vector copolymer composed of a hydrophilic PEG block(A),a siRNA binding block(B)and a pH-responsive block(C).PACDs can self-assemble into nanosized polymeric micelles that compact siRNAs into polyplexes through simple *** evaluating its pH-responsive activity,gene silencing efficiency in retinal cells,intraocular distribution,and anti-angiogenesis therapy in a mouse model of hypoxia-induced angiogenesis,we demonstrate the efficiency and safety of PACD in delivering siRNA in the *** are surprised to discover that,the PACD/siRNA polyplexes exhibit remarkable intracellular endosomal escape efficiency,excellent gene silencing,and inhibit retinal *** study provides design guidance for developing efficient nonviral ocular nucleic acid delivery systems.

Excitonic Instability in Ta2Pd3Te5 Monolayer

By systematic theoretical calculations,we reveal an excitonic insulator(EI)in the Ta_(2)Pd_(3)Te_(5)*** bulk Ta_(2)Pd_(3)Te_(5)is a van der Waals(vdW)layered compound,whereas the vdW layer can be obtained through exfoliation or molecular-beam ***-principles calculations show that the monolayer is a nearly zero-gap semiconductor with the modified Becke–Johnson *** to the same symmetry of the band-edge states,the two-dimensional polarization 2D would be finite as the band gap goes to zero,allowing for an EI state in the *** the first-principles many-body perturbation theory,the GW plus Bethe–Salpeter equation calculation reveals that the exciton binding energy is larger than the single-particle band gap,indicating the excitonic *** computed phonon spectrum suggests that the monolayer is dynamically stable without lattice *** findings suggest that the Ta_(2)Pd_(3)Te_(5) monolayer is an excitonic insulator without structural distortion.
