MigroGrid(MG)has emerged to resolve the growing demand for *** because of its inconsistent output,it can result in various power quality(PQ)*** is a problem that is becoming more and more important for the reliability of power systems that use renewable energy ***,the employment of nonlinear loads will introduce harmonics into the system and,as a result,cause distortions in the current and voltage waveforms as well as low power quality issues in the supply ***,this research focuses on power quality enhancement in the MG using hybrid shunt ***,the performance of the filter mainly depends upon the design,and stability of the *** efficiency of the proposed filter is enhanced by incorporating an enhanced adaptive fuzzy neural network(AfNN)*** performance of the proposed topology is examined in a MAtLAB/Simulink environment,and experimental findings are provided to validate the effectiveness of this ***,the results of the proposed controller are compared with Adaptive fuzzy Back-Stepping(AfBS)and Adaptive fuzzy Sliding(AfS)to prove its superiority over power quality improvement in *** the analysis,it can be observed that the proposed system reduces the total harmonic distortion by about 1.8%,which is less than the acceptable limit standard.

Roughly 1.2 billion tons of grain produced from maize(Zea mays)hybrids were harvested worldwide in 2022 on more than 200 million hectares(food and Agricultural Organization statistics).Hybrid maize adapted to increased planting density,largely attributed to the upright angle of leaf blades,is a key factor for driving high grain yields over the last 50 years(Duvick et al.,2004).Leaf angle(LA)is a major breeding target for crop productivity due to its effects on canopy architecture,which impacts the amount of light intercepted by the leaf blade(Cao et al.,2022).

Inflow and outflow permeability tests in a very soft clay under low stresses

In situ inflow and outflow permeability tests with the BAt probe at SarapuíII soft clay test site are presented.A description of the BAt permeability test is provided,discussing its advantages and shortcomings,especially in the case of very soft clays under low *** pressures were monitored during probe installation and were found to be slightly lower than piezocone u2 pore pressures,consistent with the position of the *** role of filter tip saturation was investigated after the usual saturation procedure provided an unsatisfactory pore pressure response during probe *** show that the vacuum saturation procedure provides adequate response during installation and increases the reliability of the coefficient of permeability determination in early *** inflow and outflow tests yielded similar results,indicating that careful execution of the test can lead to good test repeatability regardless of the loading *** sequences of alternated inflow and outflow tests have yielded similar results,indicating that soil reconsolidation and filter clogging were negligible in the tests *** are presented concerning the relationship between index parameters and the in situ coefficient of permeability for SarapuíII clay,which plot outside the range of existing databases.

the thermoluminescence(tL)emission of synthetic and natural Ce-monazites was characterized here to determine the potential application in the identification of microscopic defects from a qualitative point of view trying to link each tL peak to a chemical-physical *** kinetic parameters that lead the luminescence processes were calculated by means of variable heating rate and computing glow curve deconvolution methods and allow identifying three groups of components at~90,130 and 290℃(for the mineral sample)and~90,170,220,270 and 320℃(for the synthetic CePO_(4):Nd_(0.20),La_(0.25)).the main differences appreciated in these complex tL curves are mainly due to(i)the content of impurities(natural sample contains lanthanides as well as U 0.60%and th 5.22%)and(ii)the degree of crystallinity of the samples which is directly related to the type of impurities(synthetic monazite relies only on Nd and La).the behavior of the dose response in the range of 1-8 Gy is similar for both samples;the tL intensity increases linearly as the dose increases without changes in the position of the maxima,denoting first-order kinetic luminescence *** peak could be mostly associated with structural defects(i.e.,phase transitions),chemical reactions(i.e.,Ce3+?Ce4+redox reaction,dehydration or dehydroxylation processes)or intrinsic defects(i.e.,frenkel defects,ODCs or NBOHCs).

In-situ construction of grass-like hybrid architecture responsible for extraordinary corrosion performance: Experimental and theoretical approach

Despite the engineering potential by the co-existence of inorganic and organic substances to protect vulnerable metallic materials from corrosive environments,both their interaction and in-situ formation mechanism to induce the nature-inspired composite remained less *** present work used three distinctive mercaptobenzazole(MB)compounds working as corrosion inhibitors,such as 2-mercaptobenzoxazole(MBO),2-mercaptobenzothiazole(MBt),and 2-mercaptobenzimidazole(MBI)in a bid to understand how the geometrical structure arising from O,S,and N atoms affected the interaction toward inorganic *** compounds that were used here to control the corrosion kinetics would be interacted readily with the pre-existing MgO layer fabricated by plasma *** phenomenon triggered the nucleation of the root network since MB compounds were seen to be adsorbed actively on the defective surface through the active sites in MB ***,the molecule with twin donor atoms adjacent to the mercapto-sites affected the facile growth of the grass-like structures with‘uniform’distribution via molecular self-assembly,which showed better corrosion performance than those with having dissimilar donor atoms with the inhibition efficiency(η)of 97%*** formation mechanism underlying nucleation and growth behavior of MB molecule was discussed concerning the theoretical calculation of density functional theory.

Artificial intelligence(AI)as a multi-purpose technology is gaining increased attention and is now widely used across all sectors of the *** growing complexity of planning and operating power systems makes AI extremely valuable for the power *** now,there has been a lack of clarity regarding the specific points along the power system supply chain where AI applications demonstrate significant value,as well as which AI domains are best suited for such *** study employs an AI taxonomy and automated web search to qualitatively and quantitatively unveil the biggest potentials of AI in the power *** analysis,based on a review of 258’919 publications between 1982 and 2022,reveals where AI applications are particularly *** consider six AI domains(reasoning,planning,learning,communication,perception,integration&interaction)and 19 use cases from the power supply chain(i.e.,generation,transmission networks,distribution networks,isolated grids/microgrids,market operations and retail).Our findings indicate that,as of now,the focus is predominantly on AI applications in power retail(55%),transmission(14%)and generation(13%).Most analyzed works describe applications built on algorithms of the AI domains“learning”(45%)and“planning”(14%).Results also suggest that the current definition of AI domains is ambiguous,and they highlight missing information on the actual use and successful implementation of AI in power system use cases.

Control and vibration analyses of a sandwich doubly curved micro-composite shell with honeycomb,truss,and corrugated cores based on the fourth-order shear deformation theory

Curved shells are increasingly utilized in applied engineering due to their shared characteristics with other sandwich structures,flexibility,and attractive ***,the inability of controlling and regulating vibrations and destroying them afterward is a challenge to *** this paper,the curve shell equations and a linear quadratic regulator are adopted for the state feedback design to manage the structure vibrations in state space forms.A five-layer sandwich doubly curved micro-composite shell,comprising two piezoelectric layers for the sensor and actuator,is modeled by the fourth-order shear deformation *** core(honeycomb,truss,and corrugated)is analyzed for the bearing of transverse shear *** results show that the honeycomb core has a greater effect on the *** the parameters related to the core and the weight percentage of graphene increase,the frequency *** uniform distribution of graphene platelets results in the lowest natural frequency while the natural frequency ***,without taking into account the piezoelectric layers,the third-order shear deformation theory(tSDt)and fourth-order shear deformation theory(fOSDt)align ***,when the piezoelectric layers are incorporated,these two theories diverge significantly,with the frequencies in the fOSDt being lower than those in the tSDt.

Association of initial assessment variables and mortality in severe pediatric traumatic brain injury

Background Predictive scales have been used to prognosticate long-term outcomes of traumatic brain injury(tBI),but gaps remain in predicting mortality using initial trauma resuscitation *** sought to evaluate the association of clinical variables collected during the initial resuscitation of intubated pediatric severe patients with tBI with in-hospital *** Intubated pediatric trauma patientsth severe tBI(Glasgow coma scale(GCS)score≤8)from January 2011 to December 2020 were *** between initial trauma resuscitation variables(temperature,pulse,mean arterial blood pressure,GCS score,hemoglobin,international normalized ratio(INR),platelet count,oxygen saturation,end tidal carbon dioxide,blood glucose and pupillary response)and mortality were evaluated with multivariable logistic *** Among 314 patients,median age was 5.5 years(interquartile range(IQR):2.2-12.8),GCS score was 3(IQR:3-6),Head Abbreviated Injury Score(hAIS)was 4(IQR:3-5),and most had a severe(25-49)Injury Severity Score(ISS)(48.7%,153/314).Overall mortality was 26.8%.GCS score,hAIS,ISS,INR,platelet count,and blood glucose were associated with in-hospital mortality(all pthe odds of mortality *** 1-point increase in GCS score was associated with a 35%decrease in odds of *** hAIS,INR,and blood glucose increased,the odds of mortality *** each 1.0 unit increase in INR,the odds of mortality increased by 1427%.Conclusions Pediatric patients with severe tBI are at substantial risk for in-hospital *** are needed to examine whether earlier interventions targeting specific parameters of INR and blood glucose impact mortality.

Investigation on Effect of Composition on the Drying of Castables with Cement Binder

Monolithic refractory castables comprising a hydraulic bond are still used in a vast majority of cases because of their flexibility and robustness,despite many developments for chemical as well as non-cement castable *** drying can however be a challenge,in particular for deflocculated dense castables of the low cement castable *** publications have been released on this topic for the last ten years,but they often focused on the drying mechanisms or on the addition of drying *** paper presents some experimental results on the effect of the composition on the drying properties,especially on the effect of silicon carbide,used for its high thermal conductivity,and on the matrix *** also introduces two laboratory tests to study and iteratively improve the drying schedule of a given castable *** results show that the spalling resistance and the vapor pressure build-up are significantly influenced by the *** is also shown that the castable properties after drying can be altered if the heating rate is very high.
