South of.Godé, in the central-western region of.Burkina f.so, granitoids of.Paleoproterozoic age are similar to those of.the Man/Leo shield. This study f.cused on the petrographic and geochemical characteristics of.these granitoids, with the f.llowing results: 1) The tonalite that outcrops in the south-west of.the study area belongs to the TTG group or f.rst generation granitoids. They are most of.en ribboned at outcrop and have a geochemical signature close to that of.Archean TTGs. Tonalite has a metaluminous character and the REE spectrum indicates that it may be derived f.om partial melting of.basic magmatic rocks. 2) Biotite granites have no outcrop structure. They are weakly metaluminous to peraluminous and potassic to highly potassic. Their rare earth spectra indicate that they may be derived f.om the partial melting of.TTG granitoids. 3) Geotectonic diagrams show that the granitoids studied to the south of.Godé were emplaced in an active tectonic context similar to that of.present-day subduction zones.

Introduction: The uncontrolled management of.waste electrical and electronic equipment (W3E) causes respiratory problems in the handlers of.this waste. The objective was to study the stains associated with respiratory symptoms in W3E handlers. Methods: The study was cross-sectional with an analytical f.cus on W3E handlers in the inf.rmal sector in Ouagadougou. A peer-validated questionnaire collected data on a sample of.161 manipulators. Results: the most common W3E processing tasks were the purchase or sale of.W3E (67.70%), its repair (39.75%) and its collection (31.06%). The prevalence of.cough was 21.74%, that of.wheezing 14.91%, phlegm 12.50% and dyspnea at rest 10.56%. In bivariate analysis, there were signif.cant associations at the 5% level between W3E repair and phlegm (p-value = 0.044), between W3E burning and wheezing (p-value = 0.011) and between W3E and cough (p-value = 0.01). The f.nal logistic regression models suggested that the burning of.W3E and the melting of.lead batteries represented risk f.ctors f.r the occurrence of.cough with respective prevalence ratios of.4.57 and 4.63. Conclusion: raising awareness on the wearing of.personal protective equipment, in particular masks adapted by W3E handlers, f.voring those who are dedicated to the burning of.electronic waste and the melting of.lead could make it possible to reduce the risk of.occurrence of.respiratory symptoms.

Stroke Patients’ Reintegration into Normal Living Post-Discharge f.om Inpatient Rehabilitation: An Integrative Review

Background: Stroke rehabilitation prof.ssionals have historically f.cused rehabilitation on physical f.nctions and overlooked the concept of.community reintegration af.er discharge f.om inpatient rehabilitation. The lack of.f.cus on psychosocial f.nctions post-stroke may lead to lower levels of.satisf.ction during community reintegration. Methods: This integrative review synthesized f.ndings f.om research literature on stroke patients’ reintegration into the community af.er inpatient rehabilitation to address three research questions: a) What specif.c physical and psychosocial f.nctions have been identif.ed as predictors of.successf.l reintegration into normal living af.er stroke?, b) How do physical and psychosocial f.nctions promote successf.l reintegration into normal living af.er stroke?, and c) What f.ctors have been identif.ed that hinder stroke patients’ reintegration into normal living af.er stroke? Results: A systematic search of.literature identif.ed sixteen studies that provided signif.cant context f.r the research questions. What physical and psychosocial f.nctions of.stroke patients included, f.r example, improved mobility, independence in daily activities, reduced disability, psychological well-being, self.ef.icacy, social support, and personal relationships. How physical and psychosocial f.nctions promote reintegration included, f.r example, disability management, emotional well-being, self.care independence, sense of.purpose, and employment inf.uence. f.ctors that hinder stroke patients’ reintegration consisted of.longer stride time, impaired balance/mobility, activities limitation, severe stroke, presence of.comorbidity, depressive symptoms, speech and language challenges, inadequate self.ef.icacy, f.ar of.f.lling, older age, low educational level, lack of.social support, and social isolation. Introduction: Low back pain is nowadays a real public health problem in companies. The objective of.the study was to determine the prevalence and f.ctors associated with chronic low back pain among workers of.a mining company in Burkina f.so. Material and Methods: This was a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study with a retrospective collection that took place f.om August 1, 2021 to March 16, 2022 in a gold mine in Burkina f.so. It f.cused on mine workers who participated in the 2019 annual medical visit. Results: Out of.a total workf.rce of.880 workers who took part in the annual medical visit in 2019, 165 had chronic common low back pain, i.e. a prevalence of.18.75%. The average age of.low back pain workers was 37.21 ± 7.5 years. Among the workers suf.ering f.om low back pain, 62 (37.58%) held the position of.machine operator. Clinically, mechanical pain was f.und in 113 low back pain workers (76%) and twenty-nine (17.58%) had radicular pain. Standard radiography of.the lumbar spine was abnormal in 129 workers (78.18%. In the univariate analysis, the f.ctors associated with the pathology were sex, level of.study, work station and seniority in the position. Af.er a logistic regression, the f.ctors associated with its occurrence were whole-body vibration (f.sher’s test = 12.7541;P = 0.000), male sex (f.sher’s test = 8.363;P = 0.004), and seniority f.r 4 to 5 years (Chi2 = 4.0234;p = 0.046). Conclusion: The study reveals the existence of.chronic low back pain cases among the workers of.the mining company. There is a predominance of.the pathology in men, workers exposed to vibrations and those with a seniority of.4 to 5 years. It is necessary to establish a policy of.prevention of.low back pain f.r the benef.t of.workers, in particular those exposed to vibrations.

Studies f.om nearly 3 decades ago suggested that,in the central nervous system(CNS),myelination of.axons by oligodendrocytes not only helps improve axonal conductivity but also stabilizes circuitry(Colello and Schwab,1994).Over the years,myelin sheaths produced by oligodendrocytes have been f.und to contain multiple molecules that are inhibitory to axonal growth(e.g.,MAG,NogoA,OMgp,Semaphorins)(Yiu and He,2006;Silver et al.,2014).Af.er white matter injury in the adult CNS,myelin debris f.om damaged axons and dead oligodendrocytes accumulates in the f.rming glial scar and exposes these myelin-associated axon growth-inhibitory molecules to the injured axonal stumps,thereby contributing to the inhibition of.axonal *** development,CNS axons reach their postsynaptic targets and stop growing bef.re oligodendrocytes appear and myelinate them(f.ran and Peterson,1992;Dangata et al.,1996).Theref.re,myelin-associated axon growth-inhibitory molecules interacting with already grown axons during myelination were thought to block axons f.om promiscuous sprouting and miswiring,thereby stabilizing neural circuitry in the CNS(Colello and Schwab,1994).

The aim of.this study was to report a case of.multi-visceral sarcoidosis at the Mother-Child Hospital Center (CHME) “Le Luxembourg” in Bamako, Mali. Observation: This is a patient aged 62 at the time of.consultation, a housewif., residing in the Banconi district, who was ref.rred to us f.r thoracic-abdominopelvic imaging f.r chronic liver disease. Af.er several diagnostic errors, the thoracic-abdominopelvic CT scan and liver MRI perf.rmed in our center showed, at the thoracoabdominal level, bilateral dif.use pulmonary micronodules and bilateral mediastinal-hilar lymphadenopathy;on the abdominal level, a dysmorphic liver with plaques of.steatosis and a granular appearance of.the liver parenchyma without periportal f.brosis. These imaging data combined with those f.om the liver nodule biopsy and biology conf.rmed the diagnosis of.sarcoidosis type II. Treatment with corticosteroids gave satisf.ctory results and the patient recovered af.er 18 months. Clinical and CT monitoring 2 years f.om the start of.the disease and 2 months f.om the end of.treatment showed complete resolution of.the lesions. Conclusion: The multi-visceral location of.sarcoidosis is an entity whose diagnosis remains dif.icult;diagnostic and interventional imaging has an important place in its management.

Retroperitoneal sof. tissue sarcomas in the retroperitoneal/intra-abdominal regions represent 10% - 15% of.all cases of.sof. tissue sarcoma. Liposarcomas, which are the most common histological type, account f.r 20% - 45% of.retroperitoneal/intra-abdominal sarcoma cases, and 20% of.liposarcomas cases are primary retroperitoneal liposarcomas. Surgical resection in case of.malignancy remains the treatment of.choice f.r liposarcomas, according to the guidelines of.most major international companies. Our goal was to improve the management of.retroperitoneal liposarcoma. This was a 65-year-old patient, with no medical or surgical history, who was ref.rred to us f.r abdominal swelling, in whom clinical and paraclinical examination f.und retroperitoneal liposarcoma stage IV, and the surgical treatment consisted in making a tumor reduction. Conclusion: Retro-peritoneal liposarcoma is an undervalued malignant tumor, and the diagnosis is of.en late.
