This paper presents a study of the segmentation of medical *** paper provides a solid introduction to image enhancement along with image segmentation *** the first step,the morphological operations are employed to ensure image detail protection and *** objective of using morphological operations is to remove the defects in the texture of the ***,the fuzzy C-means(fCm)clustering algorithm is used to modify membership function based only on the spatial neighbors instead of the distance between pixels within local spatial neighbors and cluster *** proposed technique is very simple to implement and significantly fast since it is not necessary to compute the distance between the neighboring pixels and the cluster *** is also efficient when dealing with noisy images because of its ability to efficiently improve the membership partition *** results are performed on different medical image ***(Us),X-ray(mammogram),Computed Tomography(CT),Positron Emission Tomography(PET),and magnetic Resonance(mR)images are the main medical image modalities used in this *** obtained results illustrate that the proposed technique can achieve good results with a short time and efficient image *** results on different image modalities show that the proposed technique can achieve segmentation accuracies of 98.83%,99.71%,99.83%,99.85%,and 99.74%for Us,mammogram,CT,PET,and mRI images,respectively.

The segmentation process requires separating the image region into sub-regions of similar *** sub-region has a group of pixels having the same characteristics,such as texture or *** paper suggests an efficient hybrid segmentation approach for different medical image modalities based on particle swarm optimization(PSO)and improved fast fuzzy C-means clustering(IffCm)*** extensive comparative study on different medical images is presented between the proposed approach and other different previous segmentation *** existing medical image segmentation techniques incorporate clustering,thresholding,graph-based,edge-based,active contour,region-based,and watershed *** paper extensively analyzes and summarizes the comparative investigation of these ***,a prediction of the improvement involves the combination of these techniques is *** obtained results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid medical image segmentation approach provides superior outcomes in terms of the examined evaluation metrics compared to the preceding segmentation techniques.

Effect of Y^(3+), Gd^(3+) and La^(3+) dopant ions on structural, optical and electrical properties of o-mullite nanoparticles

Dielectric ceramics of m（x）Al6（1-x）Si2O13 doped mullite were synthesized via co-precipitation technique. The X-ray diffrac-tion profiles revealed that these nanoparticles were crystallized well and the volume of mullite unit cell was increased as a function of the ionic radius of dopant ion. TEm images showed regular orthorhombic crystal morphology for the pure mullite sample. meanwhile, the doped samples exhibited slightly distorted crystal morphology of larger particle sizes. DSC thermograms evinced that the exo-thermic peak temperature of mullite was shifted to the lower value with m3＋ion insertion. The photoluminescence spectra were stud-ied for mullite samples, and it was found that the intensity of the emission spectra was affected by the m3＋ion type. It was found that, Y3＋doped mullite achieved the minimum dielectric loss value of 0.01 in the radio wave frequency region （1 mHz）. meanwhile, Gd3＋doped mullite achieved the minimum dielectric loss value of 0.09 in the microwave frequency region （1 GHz）.

Developing a biomaterial for wound healing applications is still a ***,dysprosium oxide(Dy_(2)O_(3)),aluminum oxide(Al_(2)O_(3)),and graphene oxide(GO)were embedded in cast films based on polycaprolactone(PCL)to be examined for wound dressing *** techniques were used to characterize the fabricated films including X-ray diffraction(XRD),fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(fTIR),Raman,and scanning electron microscopy(SEm),besides their biological *** thermogravimetric analysis(TGA)exhibits high thermal stability as the scaffold weight decreases slightly to 98.6%after raising the temperature from room temperature to 280℃.The cell viability was investigated and it is shown that the viable cells grow up to approximately 93%at 75μg/***,the cell attachment shows excellent behavior as the cells attach on most of the surface of the modified PCL which shows high biocompatibility.

Effective medical diagnosis is dramatically expensive,especially in third-world *** of the common diseases is pneumonia,and because of the remarkable similarity between its types and the limited number of medical images for recent diseases related to pneumonia,themedical diagnosis of these diseases is a significant ***,transfer learning represents a promising solution in transferring knowledge from generic tasks to specific ***,experimentation and utilization of different models of transfer learning do not achieve satisfactory *** this study,we suggest the implementation of an automatic detectionmodel,namelyCADTra,to efficiently diagnose pneumonia-related *** model is based on classification,denoising autoencoder,and transfer ***,pre-processing is employed to prepare the medical *** depends on an autoencoder denoising(AD)algorithm with a modified loss function depending on a Gaussian distribution for decoder output to maximize the chances for recovering inputs and clearly demonstrate their features,in order to improve the diagnosis ***,classification is performed using a transfer learning model and a four-layer convolution neural network(fCNN)to detect *** proposed model supports binary classification of chest computed tomography(CT)images and multi-class classification of chest X-ray ***,a comparative study is introduced for the classification performance with and without the denoising *** proposed model achieves precisions of 98%and 99%for binary classification and multi-class classification,respectively,with the different ratios for training and *** demonstrate the efficiency and superiority of the proposed CADTra model,it is compared with some recent state-of-the-art CNN *** achieved outcomes prove that the suggested model can help radiologists to detect pneumonia-related diseases and improve the diagnostic efficiency compared to the exis

Oxidation Resistance of the Aluminide Coating formed on Carbon Steels

Low and medium carbon steels were aluminized by the pack aluminizing technique using halideactivated pure-Al and fe-Al packs. The effect of mixture composition, aluminizing temperatureand time and C content of the steel substrate on the structure and thickness of the aluminidelayer, and on the oxidation resistance was investigated. The optimum oxidation resistance canbe achieved with a low carbon steel substrate when the intermetallic phases fe3Al and feAlform the surface of the aluminide layer. In this case, the Al concentration at the surface of thealuminide coating is at least ≥15 wt pct. formation of high Al concentration phases (feAl3 andfe2Al5) during aluminizing should be avoided as they tend to embrittle the aluminide layer andreduce its oxidation resistance.

The dynamics of quantum discord for two qubits independently interacting with dephasing reservoirs have been studied *** authors [***.A 88(2013) 034304] found that for some Bell-diagonal states(BDS)which interact with their environments the calculation of quantum discord could experience a sudden transition in its dynamics,this phenomenon is known as the sudden *** in the present paper,we analyze the dynamics of normal quantum discord and super quantum discord for tripartite Bell-diagonal states independently interacting with dephasing ***,we find that basis change does not necessary mean sudden change of quantum correlations.

Identification and analysis of a processed cytochrome P450 pseudogene of the disease vector Aedes aegypti

Objective: To clone cytochrome P450 from Aedes aegypti(Ae. aegypti) and determine the characteristics using bioinformatics tools. methods: Cytochrome P450 of Ae. aegypti was amplified using polymerase chain reaction, cloned and sequenced. Evolutionary relationship of the sequence was inferred and bioinformatics tools were used to predict subcellular localisation, signal peptide, transmembrane helix, phosphorylation, O-glycosylation, secondary and tertiary structures of the deduced protein. Results: Polymerase chain reaction rather amplified a cytochrome P450 pseudogene which was named CYP4H44P(Gen Bank accession number Kf779932). The pseudogene has 1537 nucleotides and an open reading frame of 335 amino acids containing cytochrome P450 motifs except the Wxxx R motif. It is highly homologous to CYP4H28 and CYP4H28v2. Phylogenetic analysis and evolutionary divergence showed strong clustering with CYP4H28 alleles and least divergence from the alleles respectively. The deduced protein was predicted to be found in the cytoplasm and likely to be phosphorylated but devoid of signal peptide, transmembrane helix and O-glycosylated sites. The secondary and tertiary structures were also generated. Conclusions: A cytochrome P450 pseudogene, CYP4H44 P was cloned from Ae. aegypti. The pseudogene is homologous with CYP4H28 alleles and seems to have recently diverged from this group. Isolating this pseudogene is an important step for evaluating its biological role in the mosquito and for the evolutionary analysis of Ae. aegypti CYPs.

The iron doped brushite(fe-DCPD) nano particles were synthesized via co-precipitation method with fe concentrations(0 ≤x≤ 1) in steps 0.2. The influence of iron concentration on the crystallinity, particle shape,morphology, optical, magnetic and electrical properties was investigated. The results showed that iron doping content is the crucial factor in the variation of physical properties. The particle shape changed from spheres at x=0.2 to be fiber network at x = 0.8. The saturation magnetization(ms) increased from 0.4(emu/g) at x = 0.2 to 1.6(emu/g) at x = 0.8 which is considered more than four times with a considerable decrease of coercive field.
