Objective:Once chronic inflammatory renal disease(IRD)develops,it creates a severe peri-fibrotic process,which makes it a relative contraindication for minimally invasive surgery(MIS).Our objective is to show that laparoscopic nephrectomy(LN)is a surgical option in IRD with fewer complications and better ***:Retrospective review of patients who underwent a modified-surgical laparoscopic transperitoneal nephrectomy was *** search included all operated patients between May 2013 and May 2018 that had a pathology result with any renal inflammatory condition(xanthogranulomatous pyelonephritis,chronic nephritis,and renal tuberculosis).We describe intra-operative variables such as operative time,blood loss,conversion rate,postoperative complications and length of hospital ***:There were 51 patients who underwent laparoscopic nephrectomy with a confirmatory pathology report for *** identified four(8%)major complications;three of them required transfusion and one conversion to open *** mean operative time was 233108 *** estimated blood loss was 206242 mL excluding the conversion cases and 281423 mL including *** mean length of hospital stay was 3.02.0 ***:Laparoscopic nephrectomy for IRD can safely be *** is a reproducible technique with low risks and complication *** experience supports that releasing the kidney first and leaving the hilum for the end is a safe approach when vascular structures are embedded into a single block of inflammatory and scar tissue.

Dispersion of niquel on the microstructure in magnesium based alloys for hydrogen storage

Mg–Xwt.%Ni(X=5 and 20)alloys have been prepared by mechanical alloying using milling times of 15 and 30 h in a planetary ball milling to know the effects of magnesium with the addition of Ni as catalyst,dispersion on the microstructure,area surface and the efficiency of hydrogen ***-EDS,XRD and ImageJ^(■)software have been used to characterize the microstructure and chemical composition of the *** experiments were performed as batch-type tests at 200,250 and 300℃ under 2 MPa H2 pressure during 30 *** experiments resulted in varying amounts of MgH2 in the hydrided powders depending on composition and hydriding *** best results point to an optimum Ni dispersion,which in turn depends on Ni content and milling time.

Dear Editor,Drug repurposing is a convenient alternative when the need for new drugs in an unexpected medical scenario is urgent,as is the case of emerging *** recent years,approaches based on network biology have demonstrated to be superior to genecentric ones.1 Here,we use an innovative methodology that combines mechanistic modeling of the signal transduction circuits related to SARS-CoV-2 infection(the COVID-19 disease map)with a machine-learning algorithm that learns potential causal interactions between proteins,already targets of drugs,and specific signaling circuits in the COVID-19 disease map,to suggest potentially repurposable drugs.

Semantic Segmentation Based Remote Sensing Data Fusion on Crops Detection

Data fusion is usually an important process in multi-sensor remotely sensed imagery integration environments with the aim of enriching features lacking in the sensors involved in the fusion process. This technique has attracted much interest in many researches especially in the field of agriculture. On the other hand, deep learning (DL) based semantic segmentation shows high performance in remote sensing classification, and it requires large datasets in a supervised learning way. In the paper, a method of fusing multi-source remote sensing images with convolution neural networks (CNN) for semantic segmentation is proposed and applied to identify crops. Venezuelan Remote Sensing Satellite-2 (VRSS-2) and the high-resolution of Google Earth (GE) imageries have been used and more than 1000 sample sets have been collected for supervised learning process. The experiment results show that the crops extraction with an average overall accuracy more than 93% has been obtained, which demonstrates that data fusion combined with DL is highly feasible to crops extraction from satellite images and GE imagery, and it shows that deep learning techniques can serve as an invaluable tools for larger remote sensing data fusion frameworks, specifically for the applications in precision farming.

Emotions,Perceptions and Health Behaviors of Adult Congenital Heart Disease Patients during COVID-19 in New York City

Background:Adults with congenital heart disease(ACHD)have increased prevalence of mood and anxiety *** are limited data regarding the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic on the mental health and health behaviors of these ***:The purpose is to evaluate the perceptions,emotions,and health behaviors of ACHD patients during the COVID-19 ***:In this cross-sectional study of ACHD patients,we administered surveys evaluating self-reported emotions,perceptions and health *** regressions were performed to determine the adjusted odds of displaying each perception,emotion and health behavior based on predictor ***:Ninety-seven patients(mean age 38.3 years,46.4%female,85.6%moderate or complex lesion)completed the *** majority of patients reported feeling moderately or very sad(63.1%),and 48.4%of patients identified themselves as feeling moderately or very *** majority of patients perceived their risk of COVID-19 as moderate or *** were more likely to report feeling sad and anxious(95%CI 1.06–10.96,p-value 0.039,and 95%CI 1.44–15.30,p-value=0.012,respectively),and were associated with higher odds of having a perceived increased risk of COVID-19(95%CI 1.33–10.59,p-value 0.012).There was no association between ACHD anatomic or physiologic classification and perceptions,emotions and health ***:Females were more likely to report feeling sad,anxious and an increased risk of COVID-19 in comparison to *** findings indicate the need for mental health support and promotion of health behaviors during the pandemic amongst all ACHD patients,regardless of underlying condition.

Currently,the industry is experiencing an exponential increase in dealing with binary-based combinatorial *** this sense,metaheuristics have been a common trend in the field in order to design approaches to solve them ***,a well-known strategy consists in the use of algorithms based on discrete swarms transformed to perform in binary *** the No Free Lunch theorem,we are interested in testing the performance of the Fruit Fly Algorithm,this is a bio-inspired metaheuristic for deducing global optimization in continuous spaces,based on the foraging behavior of the fruit fly,which usually has much better sensory perception of smell and vision than any other *** the other hand,the Set Coverage Problem is a well-known NP-hard problem with many practical applications,including production line balancing,utility installation,and crew scheduling in railroad and mass transit *** this paper,we propose different binarization methods for the Fruit Fly Algorithm,using Sshaped and V-shaped transfer functions and various discretization methods to make the algorithm work in a binary search *** are motivated with this approach,because in this way we can deliver to future researchers interested in this area,a way to be able to work with continuous metaheuristics in binary *** new approach was tested on benchmark instances of the Set Coverage Problem and the computational results show that the proposed algorithm is robust enough to produce good results with low computational cost.

Linde Type a Zeolite and Type Y Faujasite as a Solid-Phase for Lead, Cadmium, Nickel and Cobalt Preconcentration and Determination Using a Flow Injection System Coupled to Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry

In this work, a flow injection analysis (FIA) method for the trace determination of lead, cadmium, nickel and cobalt in natural waters by formation of neutral chelates with ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC) was developed. The neutral chelates formed was retained in a mini-column packed with Linde type A zeolite (LTA) and type Y Faujasite zeolite (FAU) and then eluted with methyl isobutyl ketone (MIBK) to flame atomic absorption spectrometry (EAA) for its detection. Physicochemical characterization of this zeolite was carried out by Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy and attenuated total reflectance (FTIR and IR-ATR), scanning electron microscopy and energy dispersive X-ray microanalysis (SEM-EDX) and X-ray power diffraction (XRD). Then, a FIA configuration was used with a column preconcentration system coupled to the detection system at room temperature (22?C). The detection limit and the relative standard deviation for 5 determinations of different solutions of Pb2+, Co2+, Ni2+ and Cd2+ for FAU and LTA zeolite were calculated. The sampling frequency ranged from 18-35 h-1 and preconcentration factors from 21-250 were achieved, for a sample volume of 6 mL using 20 mg of sorbents, indicating a high retention of the analytes on the zeolites material. The recoveries obtained in natural waters samples were close to 100% for all ions metal using synthetic zeolites, confirming the applicability of the method. The isotherm models of Langmuir, Scatchard, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich were used to study the equilibrium data, indicating that successfully followed the Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) isotherms at low metal ion concentration. The Freundlich parameter n varied between 0.35-1.01, whereas D-R isotherm yields the sorption free energy E 8 ***-1 indicating psysisorption.
