Gamification has been applied in software engineering to improve quality and results by increasing people’s motivation and engagement.A systematic mapping has identified research gaps in the field,one of them being the difficulty of creating an integrated gamified environment comprising all the tools of an organization,since most existing gamified tools are custom developments or *** this paper,we propose a gamification software architecture that allows us to transform the work environment of a software organization into an integrated gamified environment,i.e.,the organization can maintain its tools,and the rewards obtained by the users for their actions in different tools will mount *** developed a gamification engine based on our proposal,and we carried out a case study in which we applied it in a real software development *** case study shows that the gamification engine has allowed the company to create a gamified workplace by integrating custom-developed tools and off-the-shelf tools such as Redmine,TestLink,or JUnit,with the gamification *** main advantages can be highlighted:(i)our solution allows the organization to maintain its current tools,and(ii)the rewards for actions in any tool accumulate in a centralized gamified environment.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a neurodegenerative disorder belonging to a group of human pathologies known as synucleinopathies,which includes multiple system atrophy or dementia with Lewy bodies (Spillantini et al.,1998).These diseases share a common neuropathological feature,the presence ofα-synuclein (α-Syn) deposits,although they differ in the cellular and anatomical compartment in whichα-Syn inclusions *** affects more than 1% of people over 60 years of age,thus being the second most prevalent neurodegenerative disease in the world and the most common synucleinopathy.

A tull three-dimensional angular momentum projection on top ot a triaxial relativistic mean-fieid calculation is implemented for the first time. The underlying Lagrangian is a point coupling model and pairing correlations are taken into account by a monopole force. This method is applied for the low-lying excited states in ^24Mg. Good agreement with the experimental data is found for the ground state properties. A minimum in the potential energy surface for the 22^＋ state, with β≈ 0.55,7 γ≈ 10^o, is used as the basis to investigate the rotational energy spectrum as well as the corresponding B（E2） transition probabilities as compared to the available data.

Angiogenesis during reactive and pathologic processes is characteristically associated with inflammation. Inflammatory cells partici- pate in angiogenesis by secreting different molecules that affect endothelial celt functions. We had previously shown that induced tissue factor （TF） expression in activated rnicrovascular endothelial celts （rn EC） is able to induce angiogenesis via autocrine regulation. However, the signals that induce TF expression in mEC are not fully known. Here, we demonstrate that rnonocyte paracrine cross-talk with mECs triggers rnEC-TF expression. We have identified that rnonocyte-secreted Wnt5a induces TF expression in rnEC and function-ally induces celt rnonolayer repair and angiotube formation in vitro as well as rnicrovesset formation in vivo. Monocyte-secreted Wnt5a activates FZD5 in mECs, which signals to induce the release of intraceUular Ca2＋ and increase NFKB transcription activity and TF gene expression. In sum, WntSa secreted by monocytes signals through the noncanonical Wnt-FZD5 pathway in mECs to induce TF expression that induces angiogenesis by autocrine regulation.

Due to the higher energy requirements of birds during winter, it is predicted that the activities of metabolic enzymes （e.g., citrate synthase, CS and cytochrome C oxidase, COX） should increase in tandem with increases in rates of energy expendi ture （e.g., basal metabolic rate, BMR）. However, there is mixed support for the hypothesis of enzymatic acclimatization. Fur thermore, there is little information about the effect of ambient temperature on energetics and tissue enzyme activity levels in passerines inhabiting seasonal Mediterranean environments. In this study we evaluated the interplay between BMR and enzyme activities of freshly caught individuals of the passerine Zonotrichia capensis in winter and summer in a Mediterranean environment from central Chile, and also in warm （30℃） and cold （15℃） labacclimated birds. The results revealed a lack of seasonal variation in BMR, thermal conductance and in the activity of CS and COX. However, we found higher BMR and lower thermal conductance in coldacclimated than in warmacclimated birds. Also, total CS activity was higher in the flight muscles of coldacclimated than in warmacclimated birds. We found also a significant correlation between BMR and total CS activity in pectoral muscle. Although some authors have suggested that BMR mainly depends on the metabolic intensity and mass of internal organs, our results revealed that skeletal muscles such as the flight muscles may also affect BMR. Finally, differences in the accli mation and acclimatization responses in Rufouscollared sparrows suggest that largescale oscillations in the physical environment might maintain the capacity for flexibility in thermogenic traits through generations .

Diabetes remains an important health issue as more patients with chronic and uncontrolled diabetes develop diabetic nephropathy(DN), which classically presents with proteinuria followed by a progressive decrease in renal ***, an increasing proportion of DN patients have a decline in kidney function and vascular complications without proteinuria, known as nonproteinuric DN(NP-DN). Despite the increased incidence of NP-DN, few clinical or experimental studies have thoroughly investigated the pathophysiological mechanisms and targeted treatment for this form of DN. In this review, we will examine the differences between conventional DN and NP-DN and consider potential pathophysiological mechanisms, diagnostic markers, and treatment for both DN and NP-DN. The investigation of the pathophysiology of NP-DN should provide additional insight into the cardiovascular factors influencing renal function and disease and provide novel treatments for the vascular complications seen in diabetic patients.

We report on a very recently developed three-dimensional angular momentum projected relativistic mean-field theory with point-coupling interaction (3DAMP+RMF-PC). Using this approach the same effective nucleon-nucleon interaction is adopted to describe both the single-particle and collective motions in nuclei. Collective states with good quantum angular momentum are built projecting out the intrinsic deformed meanfield states. Results for 24Mg are shown as an illustrative application.

This paper presents a mixed-integer linear programming(MILP)formulation for sizing and siting of battery energy storage systems(BESSs).The problem formulation seeks to minimize both operation costs and BESS *** proposed model includes restrictions of the conventional securityconstrained unit commitment problem,a piece-wise linear approximation to model power losses,and a linear model of hydro generation *** proposed model is tested in a 6-bus test system and a 15-bus system representing the Colombian power *** the two studied systems,simulation results show that the reduction of operation costs due to the installation of BESSs compensates the investments,under some of the considered technical cost ***,results show that adequate sizing and siting of BESSs reduce renewable energy curtailment in the Colombian power system with high penetration of fluctuating renewable generation.

Hispanic Patients with Primary Biliary Cholangitis Have Decreased Access to Care Compared to Non-Hispanics

Background and Aims:Hispanic patients with primary bili-ary cholangitis (PBC) have reduced rates of biochemical re-sponse to ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and increased risk of disease progression compared to non-Hispanic patients. In this study, we sought to identify differences in demographics, comorbidities, environmental risk factors and socioeconomic status between Hispanic and non-Hispanic patients with PBC. Methods: In a case control study, we analyzed data from Hispanic (n=37 females and 1 male) and non-Hispanic (n=54 females and 4 males) patients with PBC seen at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital from January 1998 through January 2013. Data were obtained by filling out a questionnaire either via phone call, mail, or e-mail. Odds ratios were calculated to measure the association between exposure and ***: Baseline demographics, environmental risk factors and comorbidities were similar be-tween Hispanic and non-Hispanic patients with PBC. Hispanic patients were less likely to be married and fewer Hispanics had education beyond high school level compared to non-His-panics. Sixty four percent of Hispanic patients had a house-hold income of less than$50000, compared to 19.5% of non-Hispanics. Fewer Hispanic patients with PBC had health insur-ance coverage compared to non-Hispanics (86.5% vs. 98.1%;odds ratio: 0.1, 95% confidence interval: 0-0.9). Conclusions: Differences in disease severity and response to therapy observed in prior studies could not be explained by environmental exposures. In addition to genetic variation, socioeconomic discrepancies (access to care) may further ex-plain these differences.
