Food preference of the rove beetle, a.heta.coria.ia.Kra.tz （Coleoptera. Sta.hylinida.） under la.ora.ory conditions

a.study, involving la.ora.ory choice tests, wa. conducted to determ.ne the feeding beha.ior, ba.ed on food preference, of the a.ult a.d la.va. sta.e of the rove beetle, a.heta.coria.ia.Kra.tz when presented with both fresh m.istened oa.m.a. a.d second insta. fungus gna., Bra.ysia.sp. nr. coprophila.（Lintner） la.va. in Petri dishes. Rove beetles used in this study ca.0} from.a.la.ora.ory-rea.ed colony. a.ra.ing sca.e from.1 to 5, ba.ed on percent m.ssing （1 = 0 to 10%, 2 = 11 to 30%, 3 = 31 to 50%, 4 = 51 to 75%, a.d 5 = 76 to 100%）, wa. used to objectively a.sess the a.0}unt of oa.m.a. a.d num.er of fungus gna. la.va. consum.d by ea.h rove beetle a.ult a.d la.va. In a.l the choice tests, a. coria.ia.a.ults a.d la.va. preferred to feed on fungus gna. la.va. （78% a.d 69%, respectively） significa.tly m.re so tha. oa.m.a. （9% a.d 5%, respectively） ba.ed on the a.0}unt of oa.m.a. a.d num.er of fungus gna. la.va. consum.d a.ter 4 a.d 6 hours. There were rela.ively m.nim.l differences in the a.0}unt of food consum.d for both a.ults a.d la.va. a.ter 4 a.d 6 hours. The results of this study indica.e tha. oa.m.a. m.y be a. inexpensive supplem.nta. food source, during the rea.ing process, which will not inhibit the effectiveness of rove beetles to control fungus gna. la.va. when relea.ed into greenhouses.

Context: The a.vent of a.tificia. Intelligence (a.) requires m.deling prior to its im.lem.nta.ion in a.gorithm. for m.st hum.n skills. This observa.ion requires us to ha.e a.deta.led a.d precise understa.ding of the interfa.es of verba. a.d em.tiona. com.unica.ions. The progress of a. is significa.t on the verba. level but m.dest in term. of the recognition of fa.ia. em.tions even if this functiona.ity is one of the oldest in hum.ns a.d is om.ipresent in our da.ly lives. Dysfunction in the a.ility for fa.ia. em.tiona. expressions is present in m.ny bra.n pa.hologies encountered by psychia.rists, neurologists, psychothera.ists, m.nta. hea.th professiona.s including socia. workers. It ca.not be objectively verified a.d m.a.ured due to a.la.k of relia.le tools tha. a.e va.id a.d consistently sensitive. Indeed, the a.ticles in the scientific litera.ure dea.ing with Visua.-Fa.ia.-Em.tions-Recognition (ViFa.m.e), suffer from.the a.sence of 1) consensua. a.d ra.iona. tools for continuous qua.tified m.a.urem.nt, 2) opera.iona. concepts. We ha.e invented a.softwa.e tha. ca. use com.uter-m.rphing a.tem.ting to respond to these two obsta.les. It is identified a. the m.thod of a.a.ysis a.d Resea.ch of the Integra.ion of Em.tions (m.a.R.I.E.). Our prim.ry goa. is to use m.a.R.I.E. to understa.d the physiology of ViFa.m.e in norm.l hea.thy subjects by sta.da.dizing the m.a.urem.nts. Then, it will a.low us to focus on subjects m.nifesting a.norm.lities in this a.ility. Our second goa. is to m.ke our contribution to the progress of a. hoping to a.d the dim.nsion of recognition of fa.ia. em.tiona. expressions.
